If we won't be able to adjust player rotations and minutes and can't change playbooks on the fly of the ongoing league 3 years in a row (2k14-15-hopefully not 16) as there is still no confirmations whether these very simplistic and basic features of basketball game must haves in a league environment, would you be this sympathetic Van ?

That said, if I'm forced to be called the "Louisville..." whatevers I'll be a tad bit disappointed. I refuse to call my team the Louisville Wildcats lol just sounds weird and UK/UL fans know why. I'm sure there are some cool nicknames to choose from/create so that will be part of the fun.

Moving teams to Vegas and of course Seattle are also on the agenda!
Finally the SuperSonics are back! And so will be their 93 court, logo, and uniforms!

Haha always man. I feel like there are some videogame players that are never satisfied and will always find something they don't like. They ask for a world, they're given a galaxy, and then they want the universe.

If we can't put in and save playbooks I'll jump ship! Lol

People say this every year. "Be happy with what you got and the work 2K put in". No. Dude, the offseason is a basic part of an franchise mode. We're not asking for anything out of the ordinary, this is barebones stuff. Put the full mode into the game and stop giving half-done game modes. Period.

Random question, not sure if this was mentioned, will we be getting developer blogs weekly now? Is this something we can expect every Wednesday or will the day and week vary?

Lol yea, exactly my thoughts on them. There ain't been any confirmation yet. We'll see...

We can create teams, edit, relocate teams, edit stadiums etc but in Online leagues we can't even adjust player rotation or save playbooks or any other coaching options, that's not cool if that's the case, i'm still hopeful, still a believer....

To my long battered and bruised Online Franchise heads, it sure looks like we spoke too soon about receiving the motherlode in 16. This myleague online mode is some Orwellian word play at its finest. Why give a mode the equivalent name of its fully featured offline version when it pales in comparison? The lack of an offseason alone renders this mode an online league; and far from an "online franchise" as described in the blog. Let's call a spade a spade and leave the misleading marketing wordplay of "myleague online" for the casuals and uninformed who can't discern between the fully featured offline version and the half baked online version.

I do respect VC for delivering a mode that will work out of the box while implcitly alluding to the fact that the inclusion of the offseason aspects could glitch or break the mode like they did on last gen OA modes. I am also appreciative of the admin options and league customization options that were omitted up until the 3rd iteration of the series for next gen.

With the hype meter fully dialed down after the reveal of this god forsaken mode in comparison to the offline version, it is imperative that the questions posed by Ataman be answered in order to calm the anxieties of an appreciative albeit dissapointed OA nation.

If at the bare minimum, a dev can assure us that all of the myleague offline options for team coaching options and roster management are present in the mode, then the confirmed custom roster feature will be the bed rock of hardcore leagues on extending this mode to be a fully featured multi season OA; accounting for manual progressions, regressions, retirements, and draft classes, along with a work around FA system. Frankly, we were able to do this in 15 with custom rosters as workaround, so the admin options, game registration, stat tracking, a functional post season is what VC is essentially assuring the OA community in the is blog for 16.

Leftos, Czar, Sim baller, we appreciate your efforts in beginning to throw more resources and attention to this long neglected mode. The community acknowledges that Rome wasn't built in a day but acknowledging basic roster management, coaching options, i.e playbook customization would go a long way in placating the anxieties of this hardcore community who has enjoyed the OL/OA mode dating back to the xbox/ps2 era.

It could be up for discussions for NBA2k17 or never, my desired speculations.

I'm happy that you don't believe it's half baked. More power to you.

Personally, it can be considered half baked, half something or even one-third or three-fourths something if you don't consider the possibilities when creating something magnificent such as "team relocation."

I'm glad people working on NBA2k looks to explore and implement more than limit what could be done, and actually consider the possibilities however small it maybe. Some people may call it unrealistic, but it's not unrealistic if it's remotely possible. Some people simply would like to have a can-do attitude.

There are thoughts on creating part of the NCAA. There are small towns with college basketball teams and these locations could very well be destinations for our virtual NBA. It may or may not be "realistic" but it should be in our virtual NBA because realistically it's possible. It's not like it's completely forbidden.

Davidson university, Rutgers university, what about relocating an NBA team to Palo Alto where Stanford has a football and basketball team? What's the likelihood of an NBA franchise of ever sniffing Palo Alto? Whether or not someone thinks a certain location can realistically support an NBA franchise, but if it's remotely at all possible, it is by definition realistic.

Again, can do attitude. Are there plans for the NBA to relocate teams anytime soon? Regardless, implementing a feature (team relocation) that could potentially be a game changer for those that choose to use it, should consider the what ifs (team expansion, relocating team to an extremely small town). The virtual hardwood is here for gamers to live out their fantasies.

Team expansion happened once, and it could happen again. Just because it's probably not in the immediate foreseeable future doesn't mean it's never going to happen. Our virtual NBA game goes up how many years (2025, 2050, whatever it is). It's not like there are gamers that play NBA2k16 and will stop playing it once they reach year 2018 - immediate future. What about the gamers that push their franchise to year 2050? What's in store in the year 2050? Don't limit yourself.

I'm going to go off on a tangent. MyPlayer (although I don't play the mode), there are individuals creating "themselves," giving themselves attributes where their real self have no business giving. Probably a sector of the population giving their own MyPlayer dunk packages couldn't even dunk with their real self on an 9 foot rim to save their life. There are probably grown adults who are no tall than 6 feet creating a virtual self that's greater than 6 feet with abilities that mirrors Lebron or Kobe or Jordan. That's even more unrealistic than seeing a new expansion NBA team in a small time city.

Just because it's "un-realistic" for small towns to truly legitimately get an NBA franchise doesn't mean it's not "realistic" if you get what I'm saying. It could happen is what I'm saying, even more so than a decked out MyPlayer.
How realistic is it for you to expect 2K to go through and record audio (assumed), population, financial situations, etc for every city in the US like they have for the cities they included?

It's more realistic to expect my 6'0 self to be the next LeBron James more than it is to expect my city with it's whopping population of <2000 and average income of <$25,000 to get and be able to afford an NBA team.

So would you rather no online franchise mode at all?

I get what you are saying but considering the amount of stuff 2k has added it was probably just one of those things they didn't have enough time for or just wasn't on their list of priorities. I could see if 2K barely made changes and the online off season was left out but they did adied a ton to these modes. There is only so much that can be done in one year.

I think having the ability to release new custom uniforms for your team would be cool. Say you play on Christmas day and you want a new uniform. You could design a new unifrom that could be used that day and availabe for head to head matches. Some teams dont have many uniforms and being able to release new uniforms would be one of the coolest features to have.

I hear you and I'm usually not that guy but everything is not as easy as it seems to just put things in like you think. If it was a copy and paste thing don't you think they would have done that? I mean look at that diary and all they did. I look at that and go how did they add all that stuff with the time and limited staff. Look at madden who has 5x as many (guessing) debs working on that game and they couldn't knock out 5 things on that list. I guess I'm just ok with baby steps albeit most of these additions are more than baby steps! Sliders in leagues in itself is big time. Plus let's be honest how many leagues really play a year let alone multiples? I'd say not to many to warrant a lot of Dev time. To each their own...

There were previous 2K games that had an off-season and free agency. I mean, keeping all of that stuff out of a franchise mode defeats the purpose of playing in the same league for multiple seasons. Once again this is BASIC. We're not asking for things that are unconventional. Free agency, and NBA Draft are critical parts of the NBA and that has been removed from online leagues.... when 2K games from LAST GEN had those features.

thats the thing how can you really know though considering they have yet to do it right?? If done exactly as offline, I will bet you more than what they have now with it not a true franchise

This may be the best news/blog that I have ever read about a game. Well done 2k.

I liked it all, but the biggest 3 for me:

1. Team relocation. They went all out and judging by the map, Baltimore will get an NBA team.

2. Teams now plan ahead. One of the things I hated the most about past games was when LeBron was a FA and no team could afford him. So now we can see teams dump salary in preparation for big FA classes? Guys...this is kind of a big deal.

3. Peak start and peak end. Yes, yes, yes. Every sports title should have something of the sort.
