No way, it barely scratches the surface of what TW14 offers. Just read this thread alone, and you'll see all the things that made this such a disappointment. If they would have just upgraded TW14 graphics, and left everything else alone, I would have gladly paid $100 for it.

This is just not true. The Golf Club offers all the same options in regards to simulation. Really the only differences are in arcade mode with power boost and spin control post shot and the automatic putt reader.

In The Golf Club there are multiple driver difficulties, and all the same options to turn off camera zooms, green grids, and wind speed indicators to make the game more challenging. Playing with all the options turned off and highest difficulty is much more challenging in The Golf Club than RM in my experience, even though I like RM better.

RM does not have infinite ways to challenge the user that is ludicrous. The Golf Club certainly has its drawbacks in regards to presentation and is not perfect but easy on the EA propaganda...

My hope is the new patch for RM makes the swing mechanism more sensitive/challenging (how about a slider), as well the ability to turn of the swing meter icon, and stupid post shot animations.

This is probably what I had in my own mind for the game for the last two years. I figured take TW14, add in an actual calendar on career mode, throw in the possibility of playing a Ryder Cup style event every couple years.

Toss in some of the missing Tour courses from the past versions, like Riviera, Firestone, Harbour Town, Hazeltine, Wailae, etc.

I enjoyed some of the things in last versions, too, like the playing certain shots and certain holes in majors. Playing matches against the greats, I could not for the life of me beat Arnold Palmer in TW2005. And, heaven forbid, allow the user to build up points outside of career mode. Is there anything more useless than a third breast on a woman? Yes, the night golf mode offered up by EA on this years game.

The sad thing is, most of this stuff was mentioned in many forums across the internet for the last two years. EA had nothing but time on their hands to make a great, not passable (if that) golf game.

Most companies in this great country of ours evolve with the times and their customer requests and desires. In most cases we get more of what we ask for in terms of goods and services. Cell phone companies fight for your dollars by trying to give more of this, charge less for that, whatever. Coca-Cola makes their products in various flavours, shapes, sizes, packages, etc. why? Because it's what the buying public wants. They listen to their customers and try like heck to give them what they want. Why else would Tab still be available, some one wants it.

EA, however, appears to take a far different approach. One that says "up yours, customers, we make it, you buy it, live with it."

Quick question - do the majors have a little different feel than the other tournaments? Or, is the atmosphere the same for all tourneys? I'm referring to offline career mode.

Course conditions are definitely tougher. Crowds seem to be into it in all tournaments....

I'm enjoying the game online. Offline is still really not worth it for me as I was spoiled by TW14 with all the courses playing on the default simulation settings. It was actually a challenge and the career mode was great and in depth. I'm not seeing that in the current version but I do like the new game engine and think if they find some ways to make it more difficult online/offline as well as add more content then I can see that mode becoming worth it once again.

I'm still sad they removed the second ball but overall I think the game is represented well in this edition. One quick question though, does the slope of the ball lie have any effect on the shot? I remember this pronouncedly influencing the way shots were played out in TW14 but so far playing RMPGA I haven't felt the need to alter my shots much because of the slope of the lie.

Overall, I give the game a solid grade. Just continue to add options and improve in making the game more difficult, at least at the hardest settings and add more content. If you do both of those I think you'll have a lot more satisfied customers. You have a very good foundation right now to build upon. Good luck.

Change it to Advanced in the Custom section.

Talk about into it. I was finishing my third season in career mode and was in the process of wining the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup.

Every shot I hit the crowd roared in fact the roaring even as I prepared to hit the next shot. Meanwhile I was holing birdie putts and doing all the stupid gyrations and dances that go with making putts

So the quicker gameplay plus the roaring crowd plus the made putts and celebrations made for a rather hilarious 20 minutes or so

Almost constant noise and dance moves, looked like an episode of "let's make a deall" plus the old "Gong Show"'gone mad

The game isn't fully installed yet. It takes awhile, give it some time.

From HANDSWARD on the EA Rory Forums:

For those of you that are only seeing 2 menu options in the game, it is because the game has not completed the install and you are in the pre-installed version of the game that has limited features. I know this can be frustrating on PS4 because there is no progress bar of any sort to show you how it is doing and if you go to your storage it is going to say the full size of the game there cause that is what it says as soon as it starts installing. So here are a few things you should keep in mind:

- The game takes ~40 to 60 minutes to install while nothing is running on the console.
- If you suspend or shut down your console the install will stop.
- If you are playing the game or using other applications while the install is taking place then your install can be greatly slowed down.
- If you are downloading the game then the process will be even longer cause you have to download all 29 GB and install it all too.
- Make sure you have enough HD space to fit the game on your HD.

My best advice is to let the game install and leave your console running at the consoles menu. Go away, let it be, come back in an hour and boot the game up.

If you are still having issues having done all of this then please contact EA Customer Support for further assistance.

Do the developers have any clue that they are running this series into the ground or have they put on the blinders to all of the abysmal reviews? After 3 weeks this game is getting boring already, there is no depth to any mode to keep me playing this garbage. If this is the direction EA is taking this series, this will be the last golf game they will ever make.

Last we heard was TW14 was the savior of the EA Golf franchise....and it failed commercially. RM steps up and yes, it is light on content and we all expected more, but it IS a non-yearly title. Unlike TW14, I expected less. No way did I expect them to bring all of TW14 content forward to RM, especially building all new content for FB3. That being said, their interaction with the community is freaking sad. If not for HANDSWARD (Justin Patel) there would be NONE. I do NOT get their silence and lack of community interaction. Like you, they deserve to be criticized for this.

Unlike you, this is not a "garbage" game IMO. Yep, lots of content missing from TW14. Yep, Online is a big change and many are not liking it. Career is lighter than previous versions. But tell me that this was not expected.....maybe not to the degree of this game, but tell me that you expected them to replicate TW14 like content with this game. If you do, then you simply do not understand game development. The Career mode is not as deep as past games and there is content missing. But it is FAR from "garbage". Opinions vary. Respect yours. Don't completely agree with it, but on some things I do. Calling the game "garage" I completely disagree with.

My hope for RM is that since it's not a yearly title, just like UFC, I'm hoping they give us enough updates going forward to keep playing. I would be happy if they said every 3-4 months will be a update with courses or additional golfers and mode additions.

Now that I've had the game for a while, I can still say I'm enjoying it. At the bare minimum they'll add 6-10 more courses (I'd imagine more). That alone makes this purchase worth $60 for me. I spend 60 on two half decent rounds of actual golf. This provides far more hours of entertainment.

The one thing that is KILLING it for me though is AI scoring in career. I know it's been mentioned but my goodness. I'm playing the Spring Invitational in season 2. After round 1 I was at -6. Leader was at -7. Fast forward to Sunday. Heading into the final round I'm -19 and second place is -5. Seriously? The wind dropped to basically nothing days two and three and scoring TANKS. And it happens in every single tournament. Big numbers day one, then everyone goes backwards while I win by 15-30 shots.

If they don't add an option to increase AI scoring or patch the scoring system as it is now, career mode won't get touched. Right now I'm just going through the motions to unlock everything but once that's done its online tournaments only.

Pencerm, I'm glad to hear you are still enjoying the game. I am too to a certain degree. I am not good enough to play well in the online games, but I do try to play the daily tournaments to try and get better.

But that's about it for me right now. I slogged through three seasons of the repeating courses, and barely had the game a shade over two weeks and have almost stopped playing because of the lack of a career mode.

I'm one of those guys that likes the Dynasty mode on NCAA with the uniforms, recruiting, scheduling and all that. I like the Be a GM mode on NHL for the same types of reasons. Even Madden last year on the Xbox one was good for the building a team.

This game needs way more for me to stay in it as far as the career mode is concerned. But, I will still try to play some online events to try and get better, but I will hope beyond hope for more.

I had the exact same problem with the game early on until I went with no green grids. Now my scores and results are spot on and competitive. Lost the US Open by 11 shots and lost the PGA by 2 by cratering on the last hole. Just won the first leg of the FedEx Cup at Troon -13 to -12. If I do win, it is usually by one or two strokes maximum. And I have had some fist pump moments hitting some long putts. Looking at my stats, they are very realistic at 28-30 putts per round average. You can read putts in this game, but you do have to practice and lots of trial and error. There is a pretty decent PGA TOUR simulation there if you look for it, IMO.

Be careful what you wish for with AI....back in TW11/12/13 they had horrendous AI issues that you could never win a tournament unless you played on the easiest difficulty. I do agree they could improve on the AI scoring and especially the variety in commentary. For all the hours and reams of dialogue they captured, the output is becoming extremely redundant.

Welllll, at the Open Championship, Jordan Spieth shot a 12- on Sunday and beat me by a stroke so.....

I missed the birdie on 18 *sigh*. So I guess the courses aren't always like you say. I know what you mean though.
