MLB 15 The Show News Post


MLB 15 The Show patch 1.02 is available now for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. Play a few games and let us know what you are seeing.

Check out the details below.
  • Online Gameplay – Game would occasionally hang following an Intentional Walk, a regular Base on Balls, a Hit by Pitch, or a Balk.
  • General – Batters would strikeout on the second strike when the performed certain check swings at pitches in the dirt.
  • Franchise mode – Edit Player screen was limiting users from editing generated players, and players on certain teams.
  • General – Specific home runs would result in a baserunner staying on 1st base, and not score correctly.
  • Online Franchise - Injuries were not occurring during Online Franchise games.
  • Online Gameplay – Guessing Pitches had a delay and users would occasionally fail to guess Location and Pitch Type when offering input quickly.
  • Online – Within Game Rooms, users were missing their rank logos that distinguished them as Rookie, Veteran, All-Star, Hall of Fame, or Legend rank.
  • Online – Play Now Rated and Diamond Dynasty – Home and Away team assignment was not random, resulting in some users always being the home team, or always the away team.
  • Online – Play Now Online rated – Controlling the KC Royals, user would be given control of the ace pitcher (Ventura) no matter who was chosen to be the starting pitcher in the Pitcher Select screen.
  • Card Collections – Redeem Legend button was missing after completing a collection.
  • General - CPU runners were not using correct lead off logic.
  • General – Specific edited rosters would cause the game to crash when loading into a Road To The Show Showcase game.
  • General – Andrew McCutchen’s hair has been adjusted – We gave him a haircut to match his current appearance.
  • General – Wrigley Field had some collision/Home Run detection issues. Certain foul balls were being counted as Home Runs down the 1st base line.
  • General – Sounds of the Show issues have been resolved. Custom music was not being saved correctly where users intended them to.
  • General – Public Announcer audio was frequently incorrect (announcing the wrong name) during the end of game wrap up and also when bringing relief pitchers into the game.
  • General – Highlight Reel was added back into post game menus, by popular demand!
  • General – Tweaking and refining of in game sound effects.
  • General – Front End User Interface tweaking. Team colors on User’s Player Card.
  • General – Tuning to trade logic, specifically how the CPU traded with other CPU teams in Franchise and Season modes.
  • General – Baserunning/Lead Runner windows were missing from Manager Mode.
  • General - Players will now wear sleeves when the game is played at lower temperatures.
  • General – Fixed many occurrences of consumer reported crashes, reported to us through the PS4 operating system crash reporting tool. Areas that encountered these rare crashes included: Exiting Amateur Draft in Franchise mode / Entering Diamond Dynasty / During initial boot-up / Using the Suggested Trade feature in Franchise mode / Specific in game scenarios.
  • Community Market – Changing pages in the marketplace completed order now works.
  • Gameplay – Animation clean up and tuning.
  • Gameplay – Adjustments to tagging sliding baserunners.
  • AI tuning – Bunt success rate was incorrect/too successful and accurate.
  • Year to Year Saves modifications – Properly handling a small batch of players who were not in the league in MLB 14, and how they transfer over to MLB 15.

Guys -

Enough of the "special copy" talk. People have the right to express their opinions on this forum, and if they are possibly experiencing bugs, they can report them and discuss them as well.

If you feel like there is trolling going on, report the posts and move on. But the snarky "special copy" chatter is just as bad as any other trolling, and will be treated that way.

Hmm, I was told that the bug that was exposed by that file was fixed...


Maybe it was a different issue than the one you and Ramone are discussing...? I will follow up.

WW....

It's the one that I sent the pic of the draft page to you.....where you enter the June draft.....the minor league teams are listed as the first few picks.....maybe a MLB team in there as well....then multiple BALTIMORE picks and etc.
No matter what you do if you get that...the game will crash to "blue screen".
Even if you decide to simulate the draft from the schedule screen....it crashes.
I can't remember the error code...but I'll get it if need be.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. Is that different than the freeze about which Ramone was writing?

I'm nearly certain that this is the one that Ramone was referring back to Gagnon about.
It's the only freeze I've heard of in relation to the June draft.

I'm not sure if this helps but my friend that is experiencing this issue is using the first OSFM roster and controlling only one team (no 30-team control). He's tried everything but can't find a solution. At this point his only hope is that SCEA is able to resolve it. Either way, Ramone and SCEA, you guys deserve a big thank you. Few development teams even take the time to communicate with the community of bugs and issues like this. The fact that you guys are trying to recreate the problem and fix it goes a long way (at least for me) in building even more trust and faith in your product/company. I hope you're able to figure out what's causing this and provide a solution. If there's anything I can do to help just let me know.

Still occurs in DD (PS3) - just played against the A's and both our P's were announced pitching for the Dodgers. My team's audio name is All-Stars.

Edit: Played an Ex (Det/Bos with QC) and the WP was announced as Jake Arrieta, so both sides of this are still wrong.
These still occur on the PS3. Been playing DD mostly and hear "pitching for the Dodgers" when a P change occurs. Jake Arrieta as WP in Ex/TSL games, last I played was the Sox/Os empty stands game.

Trading indeed has been somehow tuned down way too much. I am seeing barely any trade activity anymore. Especially near the all-star break (trading deadline etc).

I hope this is addressed in patch 1.03 It's not realistic anymore......nerfed by accident it seems to me. The logic might be better but the frequency is non exisitent.

If you don't use instant trades there are essentially no trades throughout the season. Without instant trades the most trades I have seen in a season is 6.

After the patch with instant trades I see an average of 14, but mostly relief pitchers.

I did notice that teams don't consistently put players on the 60 day with long term injuries. When they do put them on the 60 a roster spot is opened and you see some movement with the 40 man. I have been going through all teams dls once a week and adding players to the 60 day if they have an injury over 2 months.

Has a bug report been created for this? If so please let me know I will up-vote it and spread the word. If not we need to create one ASAP. This is a potential franchise mode killer. And I have never used words like this.....but it is a glaring massive issue for us who go deep into franchise.

It worked fine for me pre-patch...I do 30 team control....and use a random number method to approve and disapprove borderline trades as well as blockbuster deals.

Guys seriously......vote it up and vote it up fast.

This must be looked at big time. It is an awful adjustment and I can;t believe it is intentional.


It basically nuders franchise mode for me. Please guys (SCEA).....fix this.

This is a big thing. I truly believe this was not the intention of the logic tuning they did.

I started a bug report awhile ago for it. The problem never was just that trades would be offered, but unless you were using 30 team control and manually approve or reject the trades, only about 6-8 would actually occur in the sims.


The trade frequency was reduced quite a bit in the last patch. I was averaging about 23 trades a season, which is a fair compromise, post patch we are at about 14 for instant trades. In real life there were over 20 trades in July alone.

The CPU teams pulling trade offers occurred prepatch as well.

I am a 30 team control guy too.....and I am seeing virtually nothing being offered between teams....it;s quite alarming.

In regards to the trade issues, is this with 30 team control? Reason I ask is that I haven't seen these issues but I only control the Cardinals.

I got the same results simming with single team and 30 team control. Far fewer trades than pre-patch and less players placed on the trade block. I assume the issue is the logic for players placed on the trade block.

I thought previous the patch average of 24 trades was a fair compromise to realistic trade action and people afraid of too many trades. (Last season in MLB there were over 20 MLB level trades in July alone).

The issue of lack of trades with trade delay was prepatch as well. I was only seeing 8 trades a sim with trade delay. The cpu would pull the trade offers while the waiting period was occuring.

I also saw very limited trade action in August. I think in past years it was much better. This year if you are lucky you get one trade, usually minor league trade in August.

Did anyone pay attention to the Radio Show before the patch? The stats it talks about now are completely wrong every time. not sure if it has been like that or not.

I only started my franchise after the patch,about 15 or so games in so far.

I haven't noticed any wrong scores being read out and i have been following on the "view today's games" screen while inside the show is playing.

Not sure about players stats when there read out as i haven't been following that as closely.

Have noticed my team is never mentioned when going through division standings.
