MLB 15 The Show News Post

MLB 15 The Show is available now to pre-order on the PlayStation Store. Both the Standard ($59.99) and Anniversary Edition ($69.99) are available. Gamers will be able to start the download process before the actual release date, so they can start playing at midnight on March 31st.

There were unforseen technical issues last year that delayed the official release until later in the day, hopefully things go much better this year.

So it unlocks at 12:00am, correct? Which 12:00am is that? Eastern? Pacific? Your personal time zone?

Is it at 12:00am Eastern and then if I'm in California I can play it at 9pm?

I'm just assuming once your time zone hits 12:00am it'll unlock, but it'd be nice to know for sure.

Expect 12am PST. It could be EST though and if it is i believe it does indeed unlock at 9pm on the west coast then.

Sweet. This is what I was hoping for. I live in Kansas and get off work at 1030pm, so if it unlocks here at 11pm, I'm playing the second I get home.

I'll hope this is the case unless someone tells me otherwise.

Seems most likely, however I have seen a few people say they were playing their game at 9pm PST when a game released digitally at 12am EST. Can't trust the internet though.
It usually says the time when you order it. I know when FarCry came out my friend was able to play at 11PM CST. Most titles seem to be coming out at 12 EST these days. Every once in a while you will get 12 PST though. Cant remember if it was supposed to come out at at EST to PST last year.

1. CDN
2. Depends on the law up there.
3. Yes. You would have to add the 69.99 to your PSN wallet in order to order it so it would charge you right then. (at least im 90% sure thats how it works)

I live in Toronto and I've never been charged taxes on my PSN purchases which is why I'm going digital this year. I'd rather get the collectors edition at $79 online than pay $79 in store for the regular edition. 13% tax blows...

what Nicholas explained I cannot believe that any one can make $9440 in one month on the internet . look at this site>>>TRACK-REPORT.ℭOⅯ

No you download the whole 40+ GB. Its not compressed. 99% sure on this.

I think the disconnect here is that you can play part of the game while the rest is downloading - and 21 GB sounds like it might be about the size it would take for the base game assets to be installed. The remaining parts of the game (the modes, team and stadium files, full audio etc) download and install as you play.

I don't believe any of it is compressed, either.

re downloading 14 is reminding me how ****ty Sony's servers are. It shouldnt take 30 minutes to download 5GB with these speeds.

Keep pausing and starting the download, it will open up and download in a few minutes. I have no idea why it works but it does.

It downloads the first 5GB then you can launch the game and play as the two WS teams while it downloads the remaining teams and modes.

Pre Loading will solve this problem this year.... but.... if you can play the game after 5 gig this year that wouldn't happen because pre loading would be 2 days before the release date correct? so it's kinda pointless now to be able to play the WS teams while it's downloading. unless thats for installing?
Ive heard after the preload you still have to install once the game goes live. I didnt think you had to so idk which is true. But yes the initial downlaod before you can play wont matter for preloads unless you have to install.

I've gotten pretty good trade in deals ..especially when I started dealing with BB and their 100% extra deals.
Add that to the fact I can get the disk copy for 48.00 (or collectors ed for 55.00) and no way I go digital.
I will never go digital for sports games anyways and won't go many digital until there's a financial gain to do so to offset the lack of trade in ability.

It's fine for those that say they never trade game's in though..

I can vouch for this. I have Cox internet and when my download starts to slow down, I pause it for a few seconds then restart it and it really speeds up.

Might be completely due to their silly "Powerboost" thing (speeds up the first 90 seconds of a big download) and I'm just fooling it, but it works.

Can we get the special edition via digital? Of course this is assuming we won't get that special steel book and cover. I'd like to play at midnight and avoid the hassle of changing discs, but I still think the perks of the special edition is worth the extra 10 bucks.
