MLB 15 The Show News Post

MLB 15 The Show is available now to pre-order on the PlayStation Store. Both the Standard ($59.99) and Anniversary Edition ($69.99) are available. Gamers will be able to start the download process before the actual release date, so they can start playing at midnight on March 31st.

There were unforseen technical issues last year that delayed the official release until later in the day, hopefully things go much better this year.

I still haven't bought into the whole digital delivery system yet. Developers are differently milking that path for extra profits. If I was still in high school or college, maybe I'd go with it because of the whole midnight thing. That being said, these games are never discounted. There are so many games, especially sports, where any Gamestop or Target sells it for $40 already and digitally it's still $60.

Also, has it been confirmed that it's midnight per your location? If it is midnight pacific, there will be a lot of unhappy east coast people. Also, there was no technical issues last year. PSN just doesn't update its store until later in the day.

Yepp. Some games (at that point in time) came out at midnight and some had to wait until the store updated. 14 was supposed to launch at midnight but there were issues. Now majority can be preloaded and it doesnt matter. And it is supposed to come out at midnight EST.

To respond to the Digital or disc I normally play a game and beat it or get tired of it then sell it so even if Digital was discounted as it should be as theres no resale value I wouldnt do it as I normally get back $45 to 50 .

Then if I really like a game I buy it back for cheap later and then resell it again as I normally only play one game at a time .

How much hard drive space does the PS4 have? What happens if we run out? I've heard the PS4 doesnt support external drives/memory, so that means we just have to continuously delete stuff?

The PS4 has 500gb. You can upgrade that with any internal harddrive of 2.5mm or smaller. It's really easy to install. I put a 2tb in mine.

You think if I bring a PS4 to like Best Buy or something they can do it for me? Or maybe I'll ask amongst my nerdier friends and get one of them to do it.

I remember taking my PS2 apart back in the day to clean the disc reader and all this other stuff... it took me like an entire afternoon. It was a complete headache and I never took it apart again

That kind of procedure isn't really my forte. I'm great with computers once someone else plugs them in for me.

If you purchase the download is it possible to play on 2 different PS4's in the home?

If you download it on both systems then yes. You should be able to go onto the secondary PS4 and re-download the game.

Playing it at the same time on both is a different story though. Still can do it but not as easy as you could on PS3. There are guides on how to do it. Just google.

I have always purchased a physical disk, I was considering purchasing the online copy of MLB 15 The Show but when I heard about the 10th Anniversary with the steel book I couldn't resist and had to buy the physical disk. Maybe next year

Does anyone know if the game fully installs with Pre-Loading? The only game I've Pre-Loaded was Madden and I don't remember if this was the case or not. I know every download starts with one part of a game (single player or multiplayer/spurs vs heat/cardinals vs red sox). I'm wondering if the Pre-Load includes this install, or if it doesn't begin until you actually start up the game for the first time at midnight. Anyone know? Installs take a while and while it'd be better than nothing, it would be disappointing to only be able to play a single game until it's finished (Giants vs. Royals I'm guessing.)

I've pre-loaded NBA 2k15 and Madden and it downloaded the entire game. Once I started the game I didn't have to wait for it to install anything.

Okay cool, thanks for letting us know! Like I said, I don't remember what happened when I Pre-Loaded Madden (it's a forgettable game lol). I guess with the other games I've downloaded I just never game them a chance to completely finish installing, so I got it in my head that I have to start the application to get it to install the rest of it.

Anyway, I'm ready for 12:00 am March 31st!

The only thing about it is when you first start downloading the game it doesn't show the entire thing. Once it finishes the first download you have to go down to the game, hit the options button, and go to information. After that it will show you just how much more you have left to download.

Okay thanks. If I make sure it's Pre-Loading and don't do anything after that, it'll finish all of it on its own though, right? I'll Pre-Load it as soon as possible and my Internet does pretty well so I'm sure it'll have enough time to finish everything.

It should but I think the only way you'll be able to tell it's finished downloading is if you go into the information. I have always done that since it's easier to see how much you have left to download.

Alright thanks for the info! I didn't know you could see the download progress from anywhere other than downloads section.
