Haven't played on SS since the update yesterday...feels pretty good all around....the CPU is pretty ambitious and showing off some new stuff...and that isn't always in their favor, lol

Yeah, they sometimes like to show off. But I think shooting, movement, passing, basically everything feels better on SS. I played AS all the time in earlier builds, but I think SS is where it's at. Everything feels more organic.

Oh, also, I can confirm that new player models WILL carry over into existing Dynasty's. I had an old Dynasty that I loaded up, and of course the new Kyrie head is there.

EA going to have to patch in more offensive coach options to better fine tune this game. As it is now, it is way too basic. Been playing on SS since release day, SS makes the CPU AI more aggressive far as scoring goes, but some times they make the CPU aggressive with the wrong players and have some players attempt things out of their skill set.

I would also say PGs in this game block too many lay ups and shots in the paint. Even those with block shots ratings in the 40s, they are blocking too many shots. Same thing with on ball defense, defenders with low on ball defense rating are sticking to you way too good.

I would like them to increase the mid range game. From what I noticed the CPU still get the bulk of their points in the paint. If they broaden the coach options for offense and let the USER prioritize plays in the playbook for the CPU, this game would be 20 times better.

Don't like the CPU coach for the USER auto changes your settings to BS settings that make no sense. I noticed this late last night when I was playing the Rockets. I had guard Dwight on ball and off ball as tight. Then the Rockets went on a run 3 minutes later with Dwight non stop. I called another time out to see what was up with that. I looked and the Coach changed guard Dwight on ball and off ball as loose. They did the same thing with Harden.

I was like no wonder they were able to go on a run, my own damn coach changed my defensive settings. I feel as though they change it on offense too. Because there are many times in the second half it seems like crash boards no longer works for your team. And those are usually the times where the CPU wants to get back in the game.

This could all be attributed to a bit of placebo effect as we don't actually know what this last update did. BUT the game felt different enough to be noticeable in the two games I played. One of the things that felt different was a few more shots made with yellow guarded meters and one of the things that looked different was a lot more variety in how the ball went in the net. Not all shots were nothing but net.

I'd love to see them add more bank shots around the hoop and lower trajectories that result in more back-rim-and-in type of buckets around the net. But regardless, this update resulted in a tangible difference and if all of the updates have these sort of incremental jumps, we could have a great game by the end of the year.

Here's the full game I played against the Clippers in Youtube format. Oh, I blew past CP3 with Kyrie using a quick cross.

The down side to most sports game especially EA's is if you play the game on the highest level it doesn't really allow player(s) to perfom at their actual ratings.

It's more like a boost up in ratings geared towards allowing the CPU to try and win games by any means....

I've always felt Live with Sliders was at it's best on lower dificulty levels because the games felt more organic no cheat codes or antyhing....no comeback logic coded into the game.

Also, keep in mind even if a player has 40 shot blocking rating you have to remember that 40 isn't the same as having 0 shot blocking rating.

It's kind of NCAA Football where LB's can jump 40 inch off the ground unless you severely lower their jump ratings...

I personally would 0 out 90% of the PG's shot block rating because to me giving them a minimum low rating of 40 still doesn't stop the block sots.

I would love to see EA utilize the full rating scale of 0-99 to create better seperation amongst players and also spread ratings out more.

The best basketball game I've ever seen in regards to spread ratings was College Hoops 2K8.

I'm not seeing guys get blocks that shouldn't AT ALL on Superstar. I saw Reddick slap one away as Lebron tried to drive the lane, but blocks aren't an issue right now for me.

Superstar against the Bulls last night. 0... 0... 0 Blocks.

Here's the video of the Clippers game. Video starts at the stat sheets. Not perfect, but in 6 minute quarters they had 3 total blocks on Superstar.

1 By Barnes, 1 By CP3, and 1 By Reddick.

If Live is to take the next step, the following three plays can't happen:

In the first one, Korver is running to the basket like my two defenders aren't even there. I can say lots more about DeRozan never actually making an attempt to defend, but the point is if the AI decides it's going to the hoop, it will. Plus, Korver threw down with two guys around him.

The second, it's obvious. They need to patch it so the AI doesn't get a 3 in the key. I had many more of those occurences so going forward, I'm just not going to double team in the post but that is unnacceptable.

Lastly, Horford defying the laws of physics and traveling at the same time. Again, if the AI wants to go to the net, they will. This happened two times before this one too and I finally decided to post the third.

With all that said, it's a fun game but over the course of a 48min game, enough of these things happen to drive you up the wall.

Yeah that long outlet pass after a rebound is pretty much an automatic score, especially on the human side....

Synergy or game data update?

I have noticed my cpu D player sagging way off non-3 shooting threats who are out on the perimeter.

I like this.

I noticed this too while I am playing now. I know when I started it said game update that was really quick, like 4 seconds then synergy update that was about 4 seconds as well. But I noticed it.

I still don't like my offensive teammates standing flat footed on rebounds at times. I don't care how bad of a rebounder you are, at least TRY. They will just stand there and let the CPU defender who they boxed out get the rebound over them, simply because the CPU defender jumped and your teammates didn't jump.

Is it just me or are the controls pretty imprecise? Feels like I can do one move and get past a user defender. Everyone is slow to react and move on the defensive side.

Scoring in the paint needs to be toned down. Brother just scored 60 with Drummond in the paint.

I have the jalen rose half time show occurring during LUT halftimes.

Also Jose Calderon, his shooting ring is always red. Didn't notice that before the update.

# 475 BL8001 @ 11/01/14 06:46 PM
This needs to quit happening ASAP.

It's killing me inside. Inside my soul.

Basically the CPU is acting human and disconnecting instead of taking a loss. Sucks when a human does it and sucks when the CPU does it. At this point, credit me with the win because you just burned 1 contract off my players.

# 476 BL8001 @ 11/01/14 06:51 PM
Hmmm, when I ok'ed the disconnect message it took me out and promptly reconnected and did an update and synergy.

Now everyone the CPU, put on your yellow shoes.

How bizarre. And all my players have black kicks.

# 477 BL8001 @ 11/01/14 06:59 PM
On the plus side, this rookie squad is playing terrible in their yellow kicks.

Off topic of the LUT weirdness but on topic of gameplay in this game, I gotta say, the game data update and the computer not being so perfect is just a beautiful thing. It's made the CPU play very human like.

Just noticed this watching someone else play, the shooting icon behaves differently now, it pulses back. What I mean is before the CPU could come over and turn your icon red and it would stay red. Now if you are in the triple threat for example, you are green, the CPU gets nearer and you go yellow and then red when they guard. But if they shuffle back and you stay squared up it will flicker back on to yellow and sometimes green.

That is a great addition.

NBA Live 15 is starting to look more and more like a missed opportunity by EA. Here you had NBA 2K15 plagued by another year by bad online servers and some other problems. This was a perfect time for NBA Live 15 to swoop in and still the show. But instead................

We have a game that is half NBA and half NBA Street.

A game whose best feature IMO was it's top replays system, halftime show and post game show not working since the Day 1 update.

Still no updated roster.

Still missing some updated uniforms.

True no game will be perfect or bug free, but you eliminate sliders, playbook editor and roster edits from your game, you are severely handicapping the USER experience. Instead you are telling your customers to have blind faith in Synergy and your updates. I mean if you want us to completely rely on you, then you need to have more open dialogue with the masses on these public forums, asking and seeking feedback of what is right and what is wrong. Then you need to have the capability to tune these things in a more timely manner.

Grant it, Synergy is slowly making the game play better. But then the question becomes, is it too slow and too small of a gradual improvement ? I guess this is the debate EA suits be having everyday....

There are many good things about Live but I want to focus on the issues so this game can continue to improve.

All of this is from a few 48 minute games using tipoff

● All plays end in same set with point guard at top of the circle, Guards at the wings and forwards on the blocks.

This is an issue as the CPU essentially moves around to reposition itself on the same spots. What essentially happens after every play is the forwards switch spots and the guards the same.

In rare occasions you will see an adjustment but I haven't figured out what it is.

Because of this, a guy like Dirk only takes one three point shot in a full game because he's spending too much time in the blocks and not at the...

● Elbow is non existent in offense.

Forwards that use this spot of the floor exclusively never do. Dirk takes his fade aways from the block. Gibson does the same.

The lack of elbow play also takes away major strengths of guys like Noah and Marc Gasol.

They don't play there so they don't make passes from those spots. It takes away entire plays like...

● Running double screens don't happen

This bleeds into a major issue for point guards. There are no plays for point guards but isolation.

Guys like Rose, Irving, Conley score their points by either being left open for a three or bullying their way into the basket.

There is no mid range game. I'm certain with what I've seen you won't catch Chris Paul roll off a screen and take a jumper.

And not once while playing the Bulls did I see Rose get freed up by his big men running a double screen at the elbows - a major offense set for the team.

● Can't call screens during a play.

This might seem insignificant but it's not. It proves that the AI is not capable of breaking plays which makes the CPU predictable.

Sometimes I like to run a play to get movement but have a forward break his assignment by setting a screen. This action allows me to essentially create a wrinkle in the play. But you can't really do that because screens are disabled while a play is being run.

Now consider this when the cpu runs a play. It means the point guard is waiting for you to sag so he can shoot or for you to play tight. And you should until the movement is complete because unless the play call for a pick, one is not coming.

Plus without elbow shots, you don't have to worry about the cpu point guard passing to their big man for the pop.

● No point forwards

Point guards run all plays. They always bring up the ball.

You won't see LeBron run the Cleveland offense.

● Shooting percentages too high. Teams are shooting about 5-8% higher than they should. That's way too high.

Also holding the cpu to 40% from three is not an accomplishment. That's marvelous from their end.

● Forwards use moves not in their arsenal.

Too often I saw guys like Gasol and Noah taking fade away jumpers. They don't do that.

And this isn't a synergy thing. This is lack of individuality in players.

But I think the real issue is this...

● Not enough animations to show the various shot types being attempted.

This creates weird shot attempts and maneuvers. The game simply doesn't have the animations to better simulate the action depending on position and situation. In time I'm sure.

Are you saying there are no double screen plays?

There are. At least in brad Stevens playbook.

Just ran it 4 times in LUT.
