It's a videoGAME. On some level it needs to be allowed to be that and people stop taking this realism thing too far. Kerr just signed in May. So for the sake of the few people unwilling to suspend belief they're playing a videogame, they should rip up their commentary? This assumption that everything is simple to implement, including making a major change to what's long been the best commentary implementation in a sports game, is ridiculous. If they replaced him with someone like Reggie Miller and there were speech tone fluctuations, or the commentary sounded unnatural because they'd gone outside their normal development process, those complaining would have issue with that, too. Thank goodness the majority of people purchasing the game likely won't nitpick the game to death over something that shouldn't be a big deal.
I never said they should rip up their commentary. I was just explaining why people may have an issue with Kerr still being there. No reason to get all up in arms about it.
Personally, I have been hoping for a completely new broadcast team for a few years.
I hear you all on that "It's just a video game" and "look at what we came from back in the day". I'm 31 and know all about that. If 2K is striving for what's on TV, this shouldn't happen. I'm agreeing with EP on this statement. The awkwardness in this is downright funny as hell to me. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but that combined with the bad lighting of the arena is a bit of a letdown. Maybe I'll wait for bit of a price drop. I still want this game regardless. Very impressed!
I know some don't care about this, but I think the game would look so much more realistic if they had accurate arena lighting. The dark arenas absolutely kills the immersion for me. It's not a deal breaker, but they've done so many things right, it is a letdown. I watch so many real games and highlights on tv and I'm so used to how the different arenas look, it just feels like with this game there's something missing. I realize there could be performance issues, but this is next gen and I'm hoping they can get it right next year. I just think if they could nail this, the immersion factor would be multiplied tenfold.

Lighting got better in 14. But yes still too dark. But reflections and shadows are fantastic
Geez...I wonder what Steve Kerr (commentator)'s assessment of the NEW Warriors' coach going to be? lol..."Kerr, an inexperience coach with absolute zero experience in the NBA level....scratch that...any level."
Next year, they should have Barkley + Kenny and Harlan. I truly think Barkley and Kenny are going to add spice and flair to the otherwise dull commentary of NBA2k.
So they should have those guys doing commentary while Shaq, Webber and Ernie doing the Halftime/Final/Pre-game show.
They might as well acquire the TNT license and give it an authentic look with the background music and all.
Just added grizz vs rockets and a replay of embid smashing tony Snell shot from the weak side
Petersondagreat,
dropping heat. What level are you playing on for these videos against the CPU?
That Embiid block was nasty.
The CPU took a charge on the fastbreak on him and it was legit in the Grizz game.
The thing that is really standing out to me is the CPU controlled players and teammates are way smarter. That Sit-tech is real. You can get beat and your teammates are contesting shots protecting the paint.
Howards move @5:15min - does the CPU actually jump back with Gasol or is this again some kind of weird glitch paint animation that moves the defender away? Cuz no one can move Marc Gasol
Don't know, this scene looked like Gasol all of the sudden has the weight of a balloon.
