Post number 215.
If this is hardcoded in the console versions then I really don't know how EA can get away with it.

Haha, one of the replies in that thread.

---Fantastic if you can find the solution to this age-old issue with FIFA. It's the most annoying aspect of the game for me. I play one game and the game play is perfect and balanced and fair throughout. Then I play another game and the CPU is running around like crazy men on drugs. I can't get the ball away from them, they push my players aside with ease, I can't tackle them, every CPU pass and cross and header is perfect, etc.---

I had this exact experience last night. Played Man U at Everton and I was up 3-0, the adaptive difficulty kicked in.

Let me upload the goal everton scored to youtube. Hold on just a sec...Pardon my language, NSFW

Really impressed so far how better the AI adapts to situations in this game. Examples:

- I was playing against Leicester City and they had CB Wes Morgan sent off. Straight away they replaced striker David Nugent with Wasilewski the backup CB.

- I played against Aston Villa and was trailing 2-1 with about 10 minutes to go. They subbed off Fabian Delph and brought on another CB in Nathan Baker to shore up the defense.

- I'm also seeing the AI play the ball down to the corner flag a lot more near the end of matches. They do it when they have a 1 goal advantage but I'm also seeing them do it with the game level suggesting they are happy with a point.

Here's Eden Hazard with a wonderful run that he caps off with a well taken shot.

The problem: Watch how brain-dead Garreth Barry, James McCarthy, and Distin are. They all take turns in escorting Eden into the box.

OK, McCarthy switches off to Garreth Barry - I'm OK with that

Barry is a huge speed disadvantage to Eden but instead of playing him into the LB & CB (~0:03) he overruns it allowing me to cut back inside

McCarthy is looking right at Eden (0:05) but instead of cutting off the space he just stops for 2 secs (~0:05 - 0:07) until he realizes he needs to track back at which point it's too late

Distin is watching the entire play unfold (nothing wrong with that) until ~0:07 at which point he makes a straight line for Eden. Only problem is that Eden isn't running in a straight line. He then stops for a second before resuming the chase.

Even the RB (Seamus Coleman) watches the run and gets beat for pace.

This is on World Class - Full Manual - Orion's sliders btw

While making the run I was thinking "what the hell are they doing" before going into the replay and watching the horrible AI in slow motion. I usually don't go back and dissect replays but this one jumped out at me immediately.

Yep, that's the same as my experience and similar to the videos I posted previously in here. Last year the defensive AI had trouble tracking runs, among things. This year they still have most of those issues PLUS they don't bother attempting tackles in many situations.

It's a shame because the attacking side of the game is superb, but when it's so easy to score goals because of extremely poor defensive AI, it's not particularly satisfying.

btw, I don't know how many people know this but EA have setup a forum (for some reason it's within the FUT forum) to post videos of gameplay issues. I've posted there and suggest others do as well.

Question for anyone on the PS4:

I just got the game and when I started it up I was able to adjust the screen size in accordance with my TV.

I realize now that I adjusted it too much and I need to zoom out. How do I get to that screen again? I tried deleting the FIFA app installed on the HDD, then I reinstalled, updated again, but it did not reappear.

What service are you talking about and what do you mean by free? I cant even play an OFFline game. Not even an exhibition. Its like the game stutters so bad, at times it freezes for 2-4 seconds then the ball goes flying. Same thing with the menus. I'm not talking about online play. I'm talking about literally putting the game in, firing it up and playing OFFline.

I shouldnt have to mess with my ISP and Router to get EA's game to work for me. Hope this gets fixed soon, it's really sad on EA's part.
there's a setting on your PS4 about needing to disable pnp or something like that. Google the issue and once you disable it you're good to go. I read about it on an english football forum.

maybe the original post was on the fifa15 ea forum too?

anyway try that

I've seen enough of my defenders running into eachother to give the Ai the ball, and certainly seen enough of my players bobbling it conveniently right into the AI's possession time and time again. This game has become so predictable now. Classic EA. I'll be giving PES a serious look this year. This game is a few tweaks and a serious patch away from being mind-blowing, but somehow I think EA will mess it up sadly.

# 332 FluffyTonka @ 09/30/14 03:22 AM
yeah PES demo plays pretty solid. Does some things excellently and drops the ball with others ... just like fifa.

the ultimate would be to morph PES defensive & passing engine and AI into fifa 15 graphics, licensing and attacking.

then you'd have some kind of game.

This still happens on legendary but to a lesser degree. I have had great runs with players like Bale stopped.

It still happens, but it also happens in real life so I just take it as is. However, it stills needs to be tweaked and tuned.

I'm not too sure a patch will fix it unfortunately. I think EA needs to go back to the drawing board and redo the defense and make defense a priority for FIFA 16.

However, we've been talking about defense in FIFA for a while now and it's obvious EA doesn't find defense too sexy or important to work on.

I think they did a great job on the defense. This is a video game

I think a lot of us want the same AI defense in our back 4 that the AI has.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to assign specific custom tactics/team sheets to teams, so when you play them, the AI plays as you set them up to?

In short, if the custom tactics I've done the last three years will work on next gen. Getting the game tonight, and excited to hopefully plug them in and be able to change how the AI plays.

Thank you!

I haven't comfirmed this 100% because you of course can't see the CPU tactic, but I was planning on setting some extreme settings to try to notice if the CPU is using the custom created tactic or not.

If it does in fact worth the good thing is there doesn't appear to be a 27 "save" limit like in 14, so feasibly you could have a unique custom tactic for every club in the game. You can also select a club you want to edit and import the team sheet from any other club, which brings over that club's tactic.
I saw in the last-gen forum that it appears you can do this, but last-gen users might be left out.

Based on what I read, and what you said there, it seems to make sense that it would indeed work. Thank goodness. So excited to get the game in a few hours and have a go at it!

Currently, teams attack WAY WAY WAY too fast & aggressively. There is little to no build up play from any team I play against.
Look for a thread later tonight!
