What tactics and line edits etc? Don't tease, let us know the details!

Unfortunately, one screenshot is not indicative of the general gameplay, while editing team tactics and d-pad controls for all CPU teams isn't possible.

Plain and simple, the defensive side of the game in this year's FIFA is a total farce.

Finally the game allows for console players to create the same sort of tactics edits PC gamers have been able to do for years, and STILL you say it isn't possible... I give up.

He was asking you to let him know what you edited so (I assume) he can plug in and try.

I'm kind of weird though, I'd like the game to play semi-smart D out of the box.

Sorry, but defending is worse this year. Use teammate pressure and your guy misses the player with the ball and gets horribly out of position (watch how after they run past the guy with the ball they simply keep going into empty space). Don't use it and your guy stands there and watches the ball go in the back of the net.

The only way to play D in this game is to rapidly switch players and do the job of 10 guys yourself.

I´m quite enjoying it, it makes me defend with midfielders and stay sharp to use defenders for the second ball, but midfielders will avoid deadly attacks if I use them right, wich at my view is quite realistic and fun. I´m always on the nerves when defending and at the end of the match it feels great.

I love defending! This game certainly does teach patience. If you are impatient you will deservedly so get burned

I wish I knew the secret this year. If the other team has a high rated striker, I'm toast.

What it is, is this. And look I like this game and I liked 14.

Anyway what it is, is a user c0ck tease.

Many times in 14 and 15 I think of something clever to do on the pitch and I can execute to like 95% completion and what wrecks it? Not the cpu, well sort of, but my cpu controlled players.

Here is a prime example. I am schalke and sub on the pacey RM in the 60'. I get trapped on my left sideline by the CPU and decide to get clever.
I play the most beautifully weighted field swap ball, daring, perfectly executed except whappen?

Out of nowhere my RB sprints up under cpu control and does this? Why?

This is what happens, beautiful soccer destroyed by my own cpu controlled teammates idiocy. I have no idea why coding like this exists in the game other than to tease the user. It's cruel.

Yup, I feel your pain. Had that happen to me tonight. Also had the infamous, make a perfect play and play a beautiful through ball, then the wrong guy runs but he has no chance of getting there, while the intended player stands still. What a disaster.

PS4 question. The computer does this to me all the time and I don't know how to do it. Whenever I chase down a long ball the defender will turn his back to me and block me off from getting it first. How do you do that?

Circle is pull/push, so you may need to do that to gain position first, but if youre already in position, it's protect, which is L2.

I have Ryan Taylor as my RB, and just now I crossed it across the wings to my RM and Taylor made a run forward, as the ball came down, he ducked his head and let the ball go through to my RM and was in position for the through ball and onto goal.

it was incredible gameplay and the complete opposite of that vid ... but there are a few head-scratching moments and howlers ... but so is real life football.

# 312 BL8001 @ 09/29/14 07:58 AM
Yes that happens too which is great.

But there are still these legacy coding issues that pop up, it's not howlers to be like real football. It's howlers to stop the human from being demonstrably better than the CPU.

That post above about a through ball and the wrong attacker being selected is dead on.

The esp dribbling by the CPU still exists too. Amazing how they can still perfectly time stepping on top of the ball, dragging it back slightly and going 180 degrees the opposite direction in one silky animation while your defender is stuck in a momentum animation.

The rub here is that the CPU can see everyone on the field at all times so they should have a distinct advantage.

And when you give it back to them the CPU decides to flub it up, and more often than not, flub it by striking your cpu controlled players with an idiot bolt of lightning.

The simplest method, and it can be so effective it may be an exploit, is to grab a player above the level of the ball, run him back and sit him in between two defenders. You then shadow the inside pass receiver the CPU is looking to pass to by holding LT and sticking to him, don't even have to be that close.

Then pressure the ball carrier here and there with RB contain, not enough to get the defender in the face of the ball handler but just enough to get him to make another decision.

You will see the CPU start to get disconcerted. They may play it out wide and then down the line with a run, cpu loves that. But they are mostly looking to in and out pass to exploit your player switching.

So just always shadow inside passing targets and let the CPU harmlessly dribble around midfield. Eventually they will make a bad pass and off you go on offense.

I can make a video tonight if you need more help.

You can use D-pad buttons, left or right, to change between "Park the Bus" and All out attack in a total of 7 (?) mentalities.

About defending, the best way is pick a midfielder and try to cut passing lanes. If we go pressing the ball carrier and try to take him the ball, most probable case scenario is you geting left behind and an open route to a CPU goal.

I would write an impression of this game if I could actually play it. I'm one of the poor souls that's gets the super choppiness when the games start. I mean its totally unplayable. I understand people have said make changes in your router settings but I'm on google fiber and I can only mess with it so far. In addition, Im playing OFFLINE. I shouldnt have to mess with my ISP and Router to get EA's game to work for me. Hope this gets fixed soon, it's really sad on EA's part.

I understand that you are upset and frustrated, but be grateful that EA even offers this service, and it's free :-)

Count me as weird too then.

Online is especially a mess, with the predominate tactic being clearance/long-pass to forward, sprint to goal, shoot.

Offline is nice in that the CPU doesn't exploit the game's flaws, but defending still sucks while the CPU defense this year is strangely passive.

It's a beautiful but wickedly imbalanced game.

So how big of a difference is a bpl career mode presentation vs. Presentation in serie a? Is it commentary difference, crowd difference, cut scenes ? Is there anything specifically that stands out that makes it so much more above the rest as people claim?

As for actual gameplay I've had so far apart from FUT server issues and horrible pack pulls , I'm really enjoying the game. One knocks that I have similar to every other game in past are

A.) Air control sucks, just no way to do anything in the air to jump up and get the ball when you're only one there. I'd like to see more ability when the ball bounces right above head level rather than passing or letting it coming back down to the ground.

B.) Non responsive or stupid cpu teammates on some attacks. Tired of seeing 3 or 4 players randomly running forward towards the box on offense when the ball is clearly going the other way behind them. Goes back to players being horrible when the ball is off the ground I think.

The other thing is it gets some getting used to the new shot and header mechanics, but I think I still hit too many crossbars than what is realistic each game .

Has anyone noticed that the CPU gets super-juiced for some games?

Right from the start of the game they are running and passing and dribbling maniacs. It's like all the players (even ones with 70 speed and agility) got plugged into the Matrix and had Ronaldo code uploaded into them.

The only thing you can do is hope to survive the onslaught!!!

A pc modder found 2 coded lines about cpu adaptive difficulty...
