can anyone check and see if this works at all for franchises that have already been started. i know they said it wont, but has anyone checked? im at work and want to know if ill be restarting when i get home tonight.
Does that mean it will happen every year? No, not really.
Yes. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money there's gonna be at least one 5000 yd passer every year in the NFL from here on out. The league is enforcing pass interference this year yet again. There's been at least one 5000 yd passer in each of the last 3 seasons, there's no reason that trend won't continue. It's pretty obvious the NFL has an agenda to increase passing.

In my last test sim the Top 10 receivers in receptions averaged 12.1 yards per reception.
dude, are you just making these numbers up?
these are the top 10 receivers from last year
1 Josh Gordon, WR CLE 87 159 1,646 18.9
2 Antonio Brown, WR PIT 110 165 1,499 13.6
3 Calvin Johnson, WR DET 84 156 1,492 17.8
4 Demaryius Thomas, WR DEN 92 143 1,430 15.5
5 A.J. Green, WR CIN 98 180 1,426 14.6
6 Alshon Jeffery, WR CHI 89 150 1,421 16.0
7 Andre Johnson, WR HOU 109 181 1,407 12.9
8 Pierre Garcon, WR WSH 113 184 1,346 11.9
9 DeSean Jackson, WR PHI 82 126 1,332 16.2
10 Jordy Nelson, WR GB 85 126 1,314 15.5
That's an average of 15.1 yds per reception. Some guys averaged 18 and 19 yds per catch. Not a single player in Madden's top 10 averaged over 14, and some years, no one over 13. That's a pretty big difference.
I just find it disheartening that everyone is so happy about these new numbers because the bar for accuate stats was set so low with the previous sim stats. These are still by far the worst sim numbers of any of the 4 major sports games, by a pretty big margin.
And there's a lot of other innacuracies in the sim numbers across the board, but I haven't really looked at everything in depth, and the innacurate passing and receiving stats are the two that stand out the most to me.
I'm not trying to nitpick for the sake of nitpicking, but these are still not good sim numbers just because the previous ones were so bad. They're just not.
FAM, would be able to check if the players progressed and didnt regress? That was a big issue before they fixed the sim stats. A lot of starting qbs were dropping to the 70's and whatnot.

I don't see 70 but Peyton is 91, Mansfield is 85, luck is 94, files is 88, Ryan is 81, Kaep is 93, Rodgers is 97, Brady is 87, breed is 88, Wilson is 97
Sorry the multiple post didn't know how to load all pics in one. Just mad because I now have to restart my league even though it looks like the fix applies to in progress leagues
I really think they need to be tuned a little bit more, yes this is a good start, but there are still issues that need more attention. Punting stats, are way off and could be the problem with WR average per catch stats. Think about it, if the punters are hitting it shorter, shorter fields, less big plays to WRs. I hope they address this before they put out a patch for offline, I hate to see players with 120 catches and an 11 yard average. That number is crazy, not all the players should be like that. Some, maybe not all of them though. It's like every team is using the short passing system. I really hope this all gets fixed, I'm ready to play an offline franchise.

Deep passing is a big problem in cfm. I simmed one year and 11 teams failed to complete a pass of at least 40 yards. 4 or 5 of them didn't even have a 30 yard completion. The next year it was 7 without a 40 yard completion. Last year no team had fewer than 5 40+ yard pass plays.

Does it auto save in online leagues, is that the reason for the restart?
Here is a video of a sim with the new stats engine. I have included stats from year 1, 2 and 12 and some of the progression. All in all, everything looks much better albeit with passing numbers much higher as the game progresses.
