I would be willing to bet the failed progression and or unacceptable regression is a combination of failed season goals and broken logic where the CPU spends points on "confidence" instead of XP following unimpressive performances caused by a broken Stat engine. (Read that again, if necessary. I promise it makes sense)

If that is indeed the case it could very simply be a case of fixing the Sim engine. I'm concerned, however that this isn't an easy fix. If it is, why would EA box it up as is? Either way, I feel as if someone has some explaining to do.

I also simulated a season. Black bottles lead the league with 3,400 yards. The leading TDs passing was like 16 and it was Ryan mallet . There was 5 1000+ yard rushers. Most of them adveraged 3.2 ypc with crazy amount of rushing attempts. Ray rice had 417 carries with a 2.9 ypc. There was one. Yes one 1000+ yard receiver. Jousting blackmon lead the league with 1091 yards an 4 TDs. These starts are so bad. Did no one at ea even play the game? Seems like they only care about ultimate team cause of the micro transaction. Franchise is unplayable to me who's a stats and player development junkie. I live to simulate and create teams that win with out me playing actual games....

Typed on my phone "Blake Bortles" Damn auto correct

Has EA mentioned anything regarding these findings?

I hope someone does. Games broken. Madden 25 was bad. But this Is even worse.

I just ran a simulation. There is a 0.00001% probability EA will fix this. Sim engine has been broken for a long time and nothing has ever been done to correct it. NCAA sim engine never worked on last gen's console. Team leader in rushing was always under 300 ypg.

People complained about M13 qb sim stats being too high, go back and look they are respectable. The only problem with that sim engine was the special teams/returning. Punters would have 10-15 blocks per year, returners would have 6-7 kr's for td's and defensive guys would return 4-5 int's per year for td's.

I'm interested to see what a 32 team supersim will produce. Out of the box I plan to do this after playing the game for a bit.

With the largest development team in all of video game land, how is it possible to have such a screwed up sim engine? You would think they would have at least one person fully dedicated to this one area. To tweak, change, dissect the engine through out the cycle.

Leads one to believe its just not a priority.

Bumping. Hopefully the Madden team is aware of this?

If it's not patched then it's a dealbreaker. Can't play a sim franchise mode with stats and progression this broken.

# 209 lassefos @ 08/22/14 08:16 AM
Has anyone from the development team addressed this?
This is a gamebreaker for me. Not only will QB stats be very low and unrealistic but it will also affect their progression, which will affect cpu QB difficulty and cpu Roster Management (unrealistic trades, etc).. How something like this can make it past Beta baffles me. Way to go

Simmed a season earlier on PS4. Bortles was a 93 going into second season with 29 pass TD and 4 INT. Saw lot of the same we are seeing here. Brady had like 16 TD's ans 12 ints. Geno Smith threw 5 TD's and 29 INTs so atleast it got his about right lol. Manning did have like 29 TD's with I think 9 INTs. Brees was the MVP. Dont quite remember his stats though.

Jaguars went 13-3. Vikings went 10-6 won division and knocked out 15-1 Saints in the playoffs all with Ponder at QB.

Super bowl was Pats vs Seahawks.

Just a few things i remember from the simmed season. Ill see if simming on different difficulties/sliders/qtr length change the stats any this year a bit later.

I bet the problem with the sim stats is in fact the game prep functionality with the confidence rating. If a QB does poorly after a few games, his confidence drops and because of that depending on the team they're playing against, they never recover.

It's not like us where we can actually work on that QB's confidence rating to get it back up. I'm not even sure the CPU is doing this so that QB continues to play poorly each game which in turn is affecting the sim stats.

I can almost bet this is why Peyton only threw for 13 TD's in one simmed year. (not sure if they said he get injured or not though)

There has to be a workaround for this.

I agree. When i heard them mention that confidence will affect sim stats (in the cfm preview video) alarm bells went off. I just knew this was going to cause some kind of problem and here it is.

And honestly, it wouldn't be a huge deal if all QB's sim stats were "lower than normal", but the problem is it's affecting their progression and that's a gamebreaker for alot of people.

I'm actually thinking of whether or not I can live with this issue and am wondering if some kind of slider can alleviate this problem. If I have to control all 32 teams and make sure their QB's have their confidence up, then I may do that. Ugh, what a pain that is though.

Madden's CFM experience lacks the depth and overall fun for me to go through all the trouble. I'll just wait for patch 2 or 3 and hopefully they do something by then. along with whatever else will need to be patched. starting a CFM/doing sliders and then they patch the game a few times and you have to start from scratch each time.

Well, between this and CW Sapp's thread, my excitement for this game has completely deflated. Hopefully they eventually find a fix for it and I can pick the game up on the cheap by that point, but I'm definitely not buying it for now. First time in probably 6 or 7 years.

Me too. Ive decided to wait if/when this gets patched. First time i won't be getting madden day one in five years. It would just be collecting dust anyways since I'm strictly an offline cfm guy.

I can't really find any good QB's after 1 season....Luck improved slightly (Med accuracy went up like 6 pts, but Deep ACC went down a few).

This is not good...

I wonder how they progress after more than one season though? I'm ok with minor ratings boosts/regression from year to year. We shouldn't have 100 90+ rated players like years past. Finally some parity in the league.

Looks like another year of hoping/waiting for patches/tuners. Playing one year CFM's or random Play Now games. Not having a finished product until 6 weeks after release and being burnt out on the whole experience and moving on to basketball games.

I'm a stat guy and a draft guy, so the current direction of the CFM isn't really my cup of tea anyway. Makes me miss NCAA even more. They finally got the off season recruiting to a point where it was really good and fun.

I haven't played Madden on day 1 since Madden 10. Outside of purchasing 11 cheap on Ebay and playing for about 10 hours, I have been away from it. I was wanting to purchase a PS4 and Madden, but after reading this thread I just can't. I guess it is back to my pc and hopefully this gets patched/fixed and I can jump in....really was in the mood for some football.

Yea me too. Age plays a huge part in the regression as well. I don't have an issue with Brady regressing. He's what...32 now? He's regressed in real life too.

In fact the only QB that's over 30 that hasn't regressed is Peyton Manning. Even Drew Brees has regressed some.
