Hard to pick one but the run from 2k10-2k12 is the pinnacle IMO. A healthy blend of genres, songs you've heard of, new artists, etc.
As a primary hip-hop fan 2k6 was great but I like hearing a few different genres which I felt 2k finally got right in the early 00s.
Nice! I'll have to check out 2K6's playlist. I came on board the 2K wagon after a church mission so 2K10 was my first time after switching over from Live.

NBA 2k6 was probably my least favorite 2k game ever but the soundtrack is on point:
RJD2 - Schoolyard Scrimage Intro
Lyrics Born - Big Money Talk
Redman - That's Why I'm Here
Blackalicious - Excellent
Little Brother - Carolina Agents
The Roots - Set 'Em On Fire
Aceyalone - Doin' My Job
Hieroglyphics - Throw It In Ya Grill
Common - The Movement
Jean Grae - The Jam
Zion I - Ride
Aesop Rock - Junkyard
Skillz - 2K6
RJD2- Schoolyard Scrimage Outro
2k7 was a lot of fun too as it was all produced by Dan the Automator:
Dan the Automator - Intro
Slim Thug - I Love This Game
Rhymefest - Bang The Ball
Hieroglyphics - Don't Hate The Player
Fabolous - Ball Til You Fall
Aceyalone & Rakaa of Dilated Peoples – Champions
E-40 & San Quinn - Baller Blockin'
Ghostface & A.G. of D.I.T.C. - 2K007
Lupe Fiasco & Evidence of Dilated Peoples - Catch Me
Mos Def & Anwar Superstar - Here Comes The Champ
Chali 2na (of Jurrassic 5) - Anchor Man
A Tribe Called Quest - Lyrics To Go (Dan the Automator Remix)
Zion I - Fade Away
The Crest - Heart Shaped Box
I'm hoping some more hard rock will get in in the future. OR custom music like MLB the Show on PS3, but I think there needs to be an update for the PS4 before that's possible.
Looks like I'm muting everything this year..lol. KD should've picked the songs, would've been much better. Jay-Z & Lebron did a good job aswell the last two years, 2K12 wasn't bad either. But this.....
This soundtrack is a little better than last year, but seriously " team " by Lorde is on the soundtrack? C'mon. I guess 2k told Pharrell to put that song on the soundtrack so that the game appeals more to women
I like it. I do not spy too many mega-hits that I've already heard 18,000 times, contrary to 2K13 and a bit of 2K14. Seeing Ratatat, Santigold, and Afrika Bambaataa return is a nice touch of 2K nostalgia. It all looks like a pretty good mix; many familiar artists but not necessarily taking the easy way out by going with their signature tracks.
That said, I wonder what the deal was with various media outlets reporting that System of a Down was going to be included on the soundtrack. Perhaps a licensing mishap? http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/...rrell-williams
You must not see "drop it like it's hot" and "grinding" on there... If you are in your twenties at least, you have heard those songs a million times
I thought when 2k said it would be the largest soundtrack of all the games in 2k's history I expected to see a list of at least 50-100 songs.. I guess next gen doesn't mean a whole lot more content.
Why are you sad there's no Nas or Eminem? Can you even understand what they are saying with the game bleeping out every two words?
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point of putting rap music in an E rated video game. Idk about you, but I can't listen to a song where the game bleeps out everything that's said, it's pointless.
Exactly why I don't listen to the radio, censored music is terrible.
KRS One's music would have been great for this soundtrack since he doesn't curse a lot in his songs which means that you could actually understand the song and not hear every word bleeped out. " Classic " by KRS one, Rakim, and Nas would have been a good song to put on this soundtrack
