With that VC I might be able to change my starting lineup when I start my association.

Thanks 2K!

And +1 to people sick of Ronnie. He's a boob.

I'll probably place my pre-order of NBA 2K15 at Gamestop so I can just pick it up after my usual Tuesday workout since it's right next to the gym I go to. Can't wait for NBA 2K15, but I'll certainly continue to enjoy NBA 2K14 in the meantime.
It is because of what the preorder bonus says about the direction of the game as a whole. Many of us were not happy with the VC and by including it as a pre order bonus 2K has let it be known that VC is still around and still an important feature.

Further many people were drawn away from myplayer because of nonsense like spending VC to buy an armband. The unique leg sleeve suggests that a similar approach will be taken this year as well.

In short the bonuses tell us what the focus of the game will be and it is a focus that we do not like.

I feel like vc wouldnt be so bad if they weren't so stingy with it! Thats why people continuously try to exploit the game is because the reward to pay ratio is horrendous. If i play a mycareer game on pro i would get 300-500 vc. Gettig speed up by 1 cost more than that. A gold pack cost 13,000 vc. It costs so much more to buy things than you get rewarded. But i am intrigued by the KD my team card

I agree with both of you ×100. I lost respect for those YouTube frauds a while ago. They aren't famous, they just got on YouTube at the right time.

Even hoping for something to wow you from a baseline trailer is unreasonable. Truth is, even if they showed new gameplay from an alpha 2k15 model, all people would say is "Still looks like 2K14."

And spoiler alert:

Spoiler

It's the same song and dance every year. Either you know what to expect and are just complaining for complaining's sake. Or you're totally deluding yourself.

The progression from one year to the very next will be negligble. And then we'll get 2K19 and wonder how we could stand to play something as ugly and stiff as 2K14 at some point.

Man, I can't wait for NBA 2K20 where they just remove the basketball part and make it all online trading cards and dressing your MyPlayer!

I ain't pre-ordering anything until I see CPU vs CPU in GM Mode and 30 team Control

I'm indifferent to the pre-order bonus as I can't remember the last time I pre-ordered a game. But hearing about the online requirement will keep me away from this generation of basketball for a second year. But I won't be buying last generation's this time around.

I'm really starting to think my video game days are all but done.

VC equals no buy loyal for the last 5 or so years I'm out on this one

If you pre-order this game, you get 5,000 VC which will be enough for ONE knee pad that gives you PLUS ONE in hustle.

What's laughable about this thread is the fact that all Triple A Titles have Season Passes, why would you think a sports game would be any different? They can't raise the price of the game $20, so they'll get $4 here and there when they can. It's the nature of sports gaming at this point. Name a sports game that's come out that hasn't mentioned some type of Ultimate Team/My Player stuff? My only problem with 2K is the VC for my OFFLINE Franchise, scratch that out, that's shouldn't be there.

Someone, somewhere is already creating a petition to ban VC from NBA 2k15 and to fix the online Server

In 2k10 I was captivated by the MyPlayer mode. I was able to experience the Combine, the Summer League and even the D-League. Player development meant that drills and practice led to a more realistic and thus addictive game.

2k11 came out and the Jordan mode dazzled me. Not only that, but all my beloved legends were there for me to play with! I was able to take part in key moments in the GOAT's career - seeing the torch being passed from my beloved Magic Johnson, the importance of key role players like Kerr and Pippen in achieving 6 rings... securing my own shoes and getting bonuses from those choices. The MyPlayer mode took a bit of a hit but it was explained that to get all my loved legends and courts and to replicate the feel of the 1960's and 1970 and the golden 1980's something had to give. Could it get any better?

2k promised 2k12 would be everything 2k11 was with better physics and more natural play - both on the court and in the ai rotations, play-calling and off-season needs in modes like Association. The focus on the You-Tube and Social Media stars started and self-appointed representatives of myself and other gamers began.

2K13 saw MyPlayer and Association modes fall further from the attention of the dev team. Not only that but the Jordan experience was taken out and an isolated non-compatible mode of gimmicky Olympic basketball was included. It took a major campaign by decades-long loyal customers even to get key players like Scotty Pippen and Charles Barkley on board. Yet anything to do with this mode was locked away in its own world, not able to be integrated in other modes. Legends were neglected and core values in my favorite modes began to be eroded away by something called: Virtual Currency. Things I once enjoyed began to be locked up under the VC gate-keeper and even major features that were advertised on the back of the box (Shoe Creator) remained broken the entire year.

It is also the year I added my current signature: the Pay-to-win attitude of mobile Candy-Whatevertheheck and Angry Birds was seen in invasive ways by 2K that the promise to "create value that gamers will appreciate" was a flat out lie.

2k14 was the first 2k title I did not pre-order, there was no indication from 2k if the PC version would be "next-Gen" or not. It turned out not to be, even though my old PC is more than capable of out performing the new consoles. In addition to the Create-Your-Own-Legend mode being taken out, MyPlayer and Association continued to be warped into gateways to secure more money. The Lebron mode instead of giving me the feel of being part of Lebron James' basketball future gave me the feeling of playing a scripted Miami Heat team going through cut-sceens of story boards hastily ok'd by Lebron's posse in an attempt to glorify a legacy not yet written.

A Phil Collins song was included! The 2k team actually did more than I expected and got me excited for something...

I will buy 2k15. The Lakers are going to have a draft-choice that MyPlayer can be assigned to without gaming the system and the Hornets are back!

Whatever happens with 2k15 will determine if I buy another 2k title, at least until Seattle gets its team back.

Don't be surprised to see "Angry-bird" mode being put into 2k20 (or sooner) unless the 2k team stops its seemingly inevitable slide downward.

What are the odds that Association/MyGM has been **** over or ignored for the seventh year in a row?

I just want to play legit realistic basketball. I just want to play a franchise mode and play basketball. Not have to jump through a million hoops to get there.
I pretty much want a 15 game for that as well because I'm a detail nut, but at the same time I'm almost 100% through with console basketball. If they bring over the next gen engine for PC I'm gone for good because I don't have to wait on 2k to fix crap they never will when I can do it myself and simultaneously bypass that VC crap with cheatengine

I am really disappointed with the direction 2k-VC is taking… Definitely his first 2k15 trailer confirm my suspicions… Perhaps this year is the time for the switch, only a game focused in a great online experience with capabilities to organize quality and customizable tournaments with all my friends can win me back…

Cheers! ;-)

Man I can see it coming. Following this direction, we will buy a game called MySelf2k20, where you start by creating a 7'10 green mohawk'd version of yourself (probably a 4'11 12years old kid, aka the new target), getting drafted 1st overall in your MyFantasy team in a MyFantasy league full of created myFriends and MyYoutubeStars+Ronnie2k.
Then after creating yourself, you get to sit on your MyCouch and watch true Nba games, wich will probably be replicated by a new Nba videogame franchise
