I will reserve judgement on the VC aspect until we see more of the game. I've been confident that 2K will have learned their lesson from last year's disaster and dialed back the way VC is handled this year.

Just because VC has appeared as a pre-order bonus doesn't mean a continuation of 2K14's mess at this point. People saw MLB The Show's version of VC as a pre-order bonus and started freaking out as well. As an owner of the The Show, I can say that I'm perfectly fine with how it was handled there. As far as it's inclusion in Road to the Show. There isn't a single second where it's required for you to buy the currency. Your contract isn't some ridiculous looking 500 Mario coins while everybody else has 5 year/40 million dollar deals and so on. It's exactly as a microtransaction system should be. There if I want it, but never something I actually NEED.

2K has a chance to right some major wrongs from 2K14. I'm still confident they will, but as of right now, they are a used game purchase (when I get around to it) from me as opposed to the pre-order on the first day available that they used to be.

Well said. I'm also hopeful the always-online thing is not what we believe it to be as well. I'd love to see those guys get back on track.

Has anyone at OS heard anything about the PC engine? EA are putting Ignite on PC for FIFA 15, so that should put all of this "PCs can't run "next-gen engines" crap to bed.

Why would PC's not be able to run next gen engines anyway? That doesn't make a lot of sense.

Who the hell said this? lol I hate PC elitists, but out of every single piece of gaming software out there whether it's Current-gen or last, there's nothing PC can't run. Well obviously depending on your wallet of couse. But there's not much reason why the current-gen NBA 2K's shouldn't be on PC.

I can't remember the guy's name, but an EA rep at E3 2013 (or shortly after in an interview) said that the reason they weren't putting the IGNITE engine in the PC version of FIFA 14, was that the "next-gen" consoles were more powerful than most high-end PCs. I'm paraphrasing, of course, but that's the gist of what he said. I assumed that it was the reasoning behind 2K giving PC players the same engine, as well. However, EA has changed their tune, for some reason.

High End PC's crush next gen consoles. I own a PS4 and only own an 8 years old laptop so don't call me a *****, just the truth.

Agreed high end PCs can handle anything these consoles put out and more.

it's their way of saying they all the profits. if you guys know pcs can run it what else could it be?

edit: this just might be me but i feel like 2k is slapping loyal fans in the face. what's the point of putting focus on my player when you half do it in the first place. no point in having other people on the team. if they made it 1v5 at least i'd know why i was losing.

Of course, that's what they are saying. They did it to push console sales, because that's where they make their money with the micro-transactions and what ever else.

Well just knowing VC continues to be in means I'm out. Sad I can't even enjoy all the hard work they do over there because they continue to rely on such a stagnated approach to player development in MyCareer.

2k14 needs so much work, and they are already losing me with this VC crap.

This is so true, MLB the show is a perfect example of how to do microtransactions right. The 2K guys should take notice; you aren't charged some ridiculous amount to change the color of your batting gloves or whatever, if I didn't look I might not have known microtransactions were in the game.

The difference is that SCEA was up front about how it would be handled. 2k has continued to actually make the VC system worse throughout the 2k14 cycle. After they lowered the VC rewards in MyGM, I lost all faith that they would go the same route as The Show next year.
