MLB 14 The Show Could Have Different Release Dates For PS3 and PS4

While we wait on official word for the MLB 14 The Show release date, one has to wonder if the PS3 and PS4 versions will ship on the same day or not.

Looking back at MLB 07 The Show, the PS2 version shipped on February 26th, while the PS3 version didn't ship until May 15th.

I sent a note to Russell, but I'm not sure if he is allowed to elaborate on it. But he did have this to say yesterday.

Either way, it's fun to speculate, since we haven't seen anything new recently. Last year, we received the fact sheet on January 14th. We also saw some gameplay from CES last year at around this time, but it wasn't on display this year. Just taking a peek at our MLB 13 The Show page, we saw a few Developer Journals with hands-on impressions at the end of January.

Let's hope we see or hear something soon.

I am expecting different release dates for the ps3 and ps4. That is just me though!

Nothing we can do about ps4 possibly being released at a later date. Especially if it was like a month or two later. But if so that would really just suck :/

Yeah but I'd rather have the release dates be like maybe 2 weeks apart at most. When it gets to like a month/2 months I'm between, then it's a little annoying and aggravating haha.

Sure, but are they expecting almost 3 months in between, like 07? It's something to think about.

I was thinking regular release for PS3, early March. But for PS4, I was thinking a little after opening day.

Yea, if it's going to be a drastic difference, hopefully they do an upgrade program like other games have done. I wouldn't want to wait until May to play the show when I could just start in March and upgrade once the PS4 version was released. As much as I love this game and want to support San Diego Studios, I don't want to purchase this game twice in full. Although, I probably would if I had to...

I hope its not 3 months in between releases, (talk about major disappointment if so.) but if I had to take a guess I would say probably the ps4 would release a month later.

I have to put in the disclaimer...since most people know I have more info than "normal" from SCEA most times.....so...

Without knowing any specifics.....I would expect a later release of the PS4 version. One full cycle on a game that's already being made for years on the other console isn't even truly enough for the team.

I don't think it will be two or three months.
I CERTAINLY hope not!

Personally I would like to have it in March like everyone else but having said that the extra month (s ) wait would be well worth it having the next gen version with all the bell and whistles.

If a ps4 version release was more then 1 month, then that would be a major disappointment.

Oh come on. If a game you've already paid for say didn't come out until may/June but it's out on a different system in March/April it wouldn't matter to you? Be realistic haha.
