MLB 14 The Show Could Have Different Release Dates For PS3 and PS4

While we wait on official word for the MLB 14 The Show release date, one has to wonder if the PS3 and PS4 versions will ship on the same day or not.

Looking back at MLB 07 The Show, the PS2 version shipped on February 26th, while the PS3 version didn't ship until May 15th.

I sent a note to Russell, but I'm not sure if he is allowed to elaborate on it. But he did have this to say yesterday.

Either way, it's fun to speculate, since we haven't seen anything new recently. Last year, we received the fact sheet on January 14th. We also saw some gameplay from CES last year at around this time, but it wasn't on display this year. Just taking a peek at our MLB 13 The Show page, we saw a few Developer Journals with hands-on impressions at the end of January.

Let's hope we see or hear something soon.

Thats because there havent been games directly created for the new consoles with the exception of a few such as Ryse for X1, which if you ask me, looks absolutely phenomenol.

Mlb 13 the show news came out in January, March the game release, I hope arrive the news in February to the game comes in April

I wouldn't be surprised to see different release dates with the ps4 version released later. ps3 owners get the game earlier. ps4 owners get the best video game ever.

I'm not just saying that because I traded my ps3 for a ps4. Well, maybe a little.

My guess is the PS3 version still comes out in March. They just aren't going to spend a lot of time releasing info on it. When the info gets released, probably in Feb. That means you'll get an April release date for the PS4 version.

they earn more than they'll lose if they do it that way I'm sure. also they wouldn't just hold it back but use the time to do some fine tuning or even out some bugs.

While the possibility of different releases dates is disappointing, I would purchase both if there was a small upgrade fee from PS3 to PS4 and if saves carried over. If not, I will probably just wait for PS4 version. Unless the PS3 version is superior.

I also don't want them to rush a product out either. So if it's mid Summer before PS4 releases, oh well.

I'm in the same boat as a lot of people. Traded in my PS3 for a PS4, so this wait for info on 14 sucks even worse because I can't go and play 13 to hold me over. If there's more than a 1.5 month wait for PS4 version I'll end up buying a Vita to hold me over since I've been on the fence about getting one anyways.

How awesome would that be to get a demo for the ps4, but its doubtful. there wasn't even a demo for last years game.

I clicked on this expecting the official release date....fooled once again. I guess its back to staring at the Green Monster scoreboard.
