The reason I have rarely play Madden over the years is for EXACTLY this reason. It was clear to me that the way to approach the game was NOT to use deeper football principles, but to play the game in a way it wanted you to play. Real football had to go out of he window. And I just couldn't/can't do that.

So, with that said, even if it's to a lesser extent, this still holds true today. Sorry EA. Keep at it, please. It's getting closer. Next up - pursuit and gap assignments.

You could cheese on any football game ever made. Any sports game for that matter . That point you can still find money plays on madden25 is a moot point. NBA 2k is cheese online and has been since 7 years ago

Just got my PS4 yesterday after luckily finding one at Target.

So after setting up the PS4, I put Madden 25 in and in all honesty did not expect much. Only got to play one quarter since I had to put up Christmas Lights (wife's order) and watch football (not wife's order)

Overall the first thing I noticed was the control. It felt more fluid and felt like I couldn't get away with the last second jukes, which I liked.

I didn't not really notice any pocket forming but I only had two 10+ play drives in the quarter.

So far I am pleased and hope to experiment more after work today.

I don't think his point was about money plays but about using principles from the sport; seeing techniques from the sport programmed. And Madden has just turned in this direction with the pass blocking. Outside of that there is little emphasis on technique and principles from American football. They have some good play concepts in the playbook, Stick, Stick and Nod and all that but little emphasis on techniques, principles. We don't need to have this conversation, it's as old as some people on this board are

Then we can test it for next year since there will be no NCAA Football. Thanks
Couldn't have said it better, this is the only thing that I would change on new Madden, that would make me completely satisfied.

Spent another 60 $ on Madden for my PS4 since I already had the digital version on PS3 which was not upgradable for 10 $.

I played the Superbowl game since the rest of the game is still installing. I Iike the new crowd animations and sidelines details. The lighting is also much better than on PS3. I used my sony Pulse Elite headset and was able to hear a big difference in the crowd improved crowd noise. The movements seemed fluid and the game speed did not feel on fastfoward like I had read in some reviews.

Well, my online impressions after about 50gms is not looking too good anymore. Seems people are doing the "shake glitch" now and it works just as good as it did on the current gen systems.

I just dont understand this mess, if you cant play and adequate defense in this game, then u should go find something else to play instead of glitchy gimmicks to help aid your lack of defense.

I have ran across several opponents who have done this the entire game stopping everything from the run to the pass game leaving you with virtually no time to pass or even hand the ball off for that matter.

Lame and cheap way of playing the game but then they have the nervs to tell u to stop playing online as the game was meant to be played that way. Seems like these freestyle players always find a way around not playing the game but cheating!

This is why I think Madden reviews should be delayed until after a month or so playing. Honeymoon period is great. Everything is good. But then that great feeling wears off and it's back to reality.

I am enjoying Madden. Set Run Blocking to 25-30.
Come on man. Plenty of people that really know football *hate* Madden because of the IMPORTANT facets of real football that it neglects. But, yeah, people that play the game in an unrealistic way really make the experience worse.

Just got this yesterday and I was only able to play 2 quarters but the very first thing I noticed is how when playing in the normal playing view behind the qb, the players don't have any type of lighting on them, they are very bright and flat looking, like their arms are just a solid color with no shadows

But in the cut scenes they look pretty good imo

-Wonky, wonky, wonky! I think they have tried to make guys not being able to turn on a dime a realistic aspect or something and in turn they've really messed it up. Like players recover fumbles five yards in bounds and just run out of bounds. Players on out routs make catches and instead of a 5 yard or 7 yard gain or turning it up field (cause you never see that on sundays LOL) the guy just runs backwards or out of bounds. Guys have to establish their direction completely or they can't move (WONK WONK WONKY) and by then the defense is tackling them. Too many 3 yard gains on pass plays and it makes it hard on defense too, the player seems to not move where you want him to.
-Too many drops for no aparent reason for the user.
What is the reaction you are looking for exactly? This is a thread where you can post what you think of the game, what you like dislike etc. Rather than have every person who buys a game make a new post to do that they are all placed here. Again, if you let me know what you are looking for in reaction I may be able to help you find it.

Thoughts after playing through two season Offline CFM on All-Madden.

The game is much more challenging than it was previous Gen and I am enjoying that part.

A couple glaring issues at this point:

1. Interceptions thrown by the USER is insane, I've went back and watched the replays and the CPU DB's are making catches that simply could not be made in RL given the ball trajectory and the amount of distance they are moving to get to the ball.

2. I have also noticed that when the CPU throws the deep ball to a WR that is has his man beat deep, the cpu always hits him in stride and there is NO slow down by the WR unlike when attempting a deep pass from the user side where there is a ton of momentum lost IF you make the catch regardless of how much space you had.

3. Sim stats for CPU QB's are ridiculous Aarron Rodgers threw for 16 TD's one season and 14 Int's- you could really replace his name with any of the top QB's and it is obvious that the sim engine has some glaring flaws and I wonder how it will hurt progression down the road.

4. I had a running play where my blockers got out front and threw a block the defender went down for a split second and instead of going through the "getting up" animation, popped back up and made a tackle instantly. Not sure if this is related to All-Madden difficulty.

5. Way to many passes are being intercepted by the CPU on tipped balls where the CPU is coming out of nowhere in a slide animation and making the Int- the Interception issue goes way beyond making bad decisions from the users perspective.

6. The defensive line in general on the user side seems to play the same and for the most part ineffective regardless of ratings. If I am user-ing a player he is fine but a 95 RE will have no impact on any game all season.

7. I just noticed this today regarding attributes- Why is there a strength rating which we can upgrade for Offensive Linemen yet a Pass Block Strength and Run Block Strength which we can't adjust? I have a high rated rookie with 65 PBS and 69 RBS but he's rated 83 overall?

8. User Catch needs to work ALL of the time and WR's on the user side to need attempt to make a play on ever ball.

9. The directional passing does not always work nor does the ball go in the direction it's supposed to when using the stick.

Overall I am really enjoying the game but I am starting to feel like the challenge in the defense is more a result of cheap trick's and user handicapping behind the scenes versus the actual attributes making a difference. Zone coverage is tighter but the CPU players have an unreal range they can cover when making a play on balls that in RL would be out of their reach.

The game is much smoother it feels almost lifelike. The graphics are much better.

The biggest improvements are to the defense, but that is only because on ps3/360 the defense was SO BAD. There are still money plays out there and smart routed outs and curls can still burn you or your opponent. The Smash play is really tough to stop as well. The QB Wrap isn't as overpowering but they got it in Shotgun spread and normal and it works pretty well there. So it can be easy to score on a bad opponent and if you have trouble stopping these plays (like me sometimes) it can still get frustrating in online ranked play. Also some outside running plays like the Outside Zone from the Baltimore playbook don't get an appropriate response from the D.

On offense it is obviously a little more challenging and it feels more realistic. Im still adjusting to having a sprint button again but I like the tru-step and everything involved with the running game. The offensive line is competent

I totally agree with those points about the passing game. The NFL is a passing league and the passing game and the pass rush should be finely tuned for next years game.

I have a noticed a pattern here. Majority of the people that are having issues with the game are playing on All Madden and have changed sliders & penalty settings. On default All Pro I'm not seeing 99% of the stuff people are seeing and having issues with in this game.

So the past few days I tinkered around. Played on All Madden, the AI for the User and CPU is completely messed up. The whole flow of the game is just totally off.

- Played on slow speed on all difficulties, the CPU AI just becomes completely dumb on slow speed. They can't move the ball at all, their ball carriers don't attempt any special moves what so ever.

- Moved the penalties to 60. AI became dumb as well.

- Moved the sliders to 60 and to 40, AI became dumb both times.

So my conclusion, normal speed, default All Pro is the way to go. I can hit wide WRs in stride. I can lead the ball to where ever I want on the field. Don't see a lot of interceptions. I can truck defenders when I want. I can stiff arm defenders when I want. I can juke when I want. Don't have problems breaking tackles. Don't have problems making tackles in the open field in 1 on 1 situations.

To me the problem is the sliders, penalties, game speed and All Madden difficulty. Change any slider, penalty setting, game speed setting or play on All Madden you will just end up with a ton of issues to the point it looks like you playing last gen Madden with all the old legacy issues.

Ill check this out man, on previous Gen I would just destroy the CPU on All-Pro. It's funny you bring up the Juke Moves and Stiff Arm, I can truck some defenders but I yet to successfully stiff arm nor juke anyone and I am using Darren Sproles... I am also playing on Slow so maybe I will try a game on All Pro and see what happens.
