2K Sports has released the first next-gen gameplay trailer of NBA 2K14, weighing in at 1:33 of goodness -- set to "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins.

DAMN. So crisp.

The facial animations really drive up the realism. 2K has always done this better than the other sports games, but this is insane.

One thing I really hope 2K works on is the crowd reactions (both visuals AND audio). When Kobe dunked on Rose, I know they cut away pretty fast, but it didn't look like the crowd when nuts like they should have. Next-gen FIFA looks like they are doing it right.

I'll reserve my thoughts until I actually see and feel the gameplay. Man I hope the other game doesn't flop...we need this competition to keep these guys on their toes.

Well I was waiting for something hot from 2K and they delivered... Graphics look sick, and I'm sure the gameplay will continue to get better- Sold! Just paid off 2K in full... Along with COD ghosts!

This isn't very logical because you make it sound as if 2K has no track record for amazing, innovative gameplay. The correct and logical response after watching the trailer should be, "If graphics are this good imagine how good the gameplay is going to be!"

I think it's fair to wonder. Folks are curious. And to be completely forthright, 2K seemed to morph a little bit at the end of the current generation cycle in terms of feature focus and target audience. It doesn't mean we're expecting the worst, it just means many of us are anxious to see what the next generation holds in every aspect aside from graphics. We knew it was going to look great.
