yea, just like the ones that have praised Madden...do you think folks are going to take THEM seriously?

Works both ways here.
I don't have access to the demo yet (PS3 user) so I read through the impression thread to get some idea of what to expect.

I've been around these parts a loooong time, and have seen the same cast of dudes.....

1-woodwork posters- those that only come out around this time of year, then disappear until the next installment.

2-The long time users that WILL give their views good/bad

3-the "tweeners"....those that will like a post,or quote a post that fits their agenda.

I really feel for the mods this time of year.

IMO the game is the same as NCAA and EA's past efforts at making a football sim. Not sure what is up with the camera angle in the demo, but it is like playing from the nose bleeder seats. Not a good look for the game because everything looks far away and small.

The running game appears very powerful! Example - Lacy took off up the middle and dipped under two would be tacklers who tackled each other instead and then did the same (exact dip head move) and the two DB's just animated to the ground. SMH

Graphics are as expected and once again if you played the college the models look exactly the same except pro uni's. Running, throwing, catching, blah blah blah, all the same. There is no personalization in the game so each player animates the same.

Bottom-line, what do you expect from the same ole same ole.

I did not like Madden 12 and had my issues with 13. I've actually been a Madden 10 junkie and still am. But this demo has me semi-excited to see the final game.

I played around with it a bit. Didn't have much fun, sadly. The Skills rainer seems borken (or the timing is so pinpoint that it's impossible to be consistent). I played a half of Pack/Hawks and a half of 49ers/Ravens on All-Pro. I liked the control of the pocket you had on offense, especially the read option. I thought Defense was horrid though. Everyone seemed really slow. If you like playing as an end or DT, forget about it because you can't shed blocks at all. Seemed like my jukes and trucks when using the HBs were way less effective.

I dig ultimate team, so I'll still get it eventually, and I am sure the gameplay will stick on me eventually. Right now I am disappointed though. It really feels more like Madden 12 than Madden 13 to me.

so it is EXACTLY the same as it was in madden 13 which had the worst late game awareness decision making of any football game ive ever played.

my impressions of this demo is I am SO ready for next gen and literally tired of "this" madden. I mean its ok but im ready for something fresh and NEW its been what 7 years now of football atrocity and mediocrity. it's hard to justify playing/wasting your time playing a football game just to have it come down to a 2 minute drill situation where the AI completely goes brain dead. I don't have that time to waste anymore. If im gonna play a game of football I want and DESERVE a REALISTIC conclusion to my hour and a half of time I put in.

Im a zoom cam guy so this demo really does nothing for me. the camera is one that I will never play on as it is just way too EASY when you can see the whole field like we can on this angle. I don't know if they tried to copy coordinator cam from ncaa14 but even that didn't get much tick from me. It made the passing game waaaaay to easy. I really have yet to see anything from this demo that impresses me so far which is unfortunate. I haven't tweeked any sliders yet but all madden is an absolute cake walk and I do NOT play like a cheeser.

ho hum sums it up thus far and disappointing AI time/situation awareness

Playing on the PS3 Madden demo

and um I'm in the 4th quarter and half of the Packers offensive players are invisible..

I see their shadow but their model is gone.

Played one game this morning before heading out to work and I enjoyed it. Will really give it some play tonight and see how it is and compares to NCAA 14.

Let's say you are the MLB before the snap.....you stay the MLB once the play begins...you never switch to the nearest defender....ever. You just play as your original chosen defender.

Adds an enitre element of letting player ratings have a much larger effect on the outcome of plays. If you feel a passing play is on tap...choose the SS or FS so you can ball hawk or look for a big hit. Want to rush the passer....choose the RE or LE or DT and stick with it.

Your games will be far more enjoyable and the results more varied.

My 2 cents.

back on topic to impressions.....and mine will come soon. Need to get home and DL this puppy.

Played one game- Niners Ravens- 360

Very polished IMO.. I think they squeezed every thing they can out of this gen as evident by a few pops and glitches. Clipping seems to be improved as well as the commentary. Although I do not like Jim when he says Nineeeeers.....

The side line reporter is pure fluff adding no value (at least from what I have seen). In the first half I was smoking the Ravens and injured Flaco. The logical thing for a side line reporter to do is check on the injury at half time.. Nope... she instead asks Kap how is it going"? We are up 17- zip at that point and if you are going to add a sideline reporter make it count EA... We see through your shenanigans.. .

When you play the demo you can imagine where the Next gen version will add more detail and refinement.. Not sure why Kap has no Tats in this gen but maybe they are saving them for retail or next gen? Also, when the player drinks water (which they cut to a lot) they will probably add the little details like actual water going into their pie holes. I also read the players on the feild will interact with the players on the sideline so that will be swell..

One more thing and I hate to mention this because you will all see it now. Like last year when Jim is talking at the beginning of the game it looks like Boomer is going to say "Derp"...

This will definitely hold me over until November..

Hahaha this full of BS!

I sacked Rodgers at the one yard line, not only did he spoke the ball in the endzone, but threw the game winning TD!!! Man!!!

Where is the comeback kid slider at?

another impression from me is choosing Danielle Bellini may be the most curious decision made in a long time. I don't know who she is but I would imagine she came cheaper than say a Michelle Tafoya or Suzy Kolber or Andrea Kramer or Pam Oliver or Alex Flanagan. so if that's the case have her record a huge library of things to say. her lines are as generic as generic can get. Does she have any affiliation with the NFL what so ever besides NOW being the sideline reporter for madden 25. I would have rather seen some relevant issue fixed or added instead of a bogus sideline reporter that has NEVER done a sideline interview in her career. I may be wrong that she hasn't but it definitely wasn't on any sideline of a game I watched and ive watched my fair share of NCAA and NFL football.

come on NOVEMBER ..just exited the demo, cant take that camera for one more play

only played one game so far.. i like running/run blocking animations.

i HATE the new audible system though. i was hoping it would be based on personnel you come out in, not the base personnel for the formation. if i come out in 5 wide, with a RB at WR, i should be able to audible between 4WR 1RB sets, not 5WR. if they did it that way, it would still eliminate getting WRs at TE/FB.

the o-line seemed more psychic than ever this year, but i was playing the cpu on all-madden.

My Madden Impression:

Pros:

Offense-It seems they gave you viable offensive game this year without having A.I. defenders doing insane moves that would piss anyone off.

Defense-Defense was enjoyable to an extent. It would have been great if my defenders didnt get punished by the O-Line every down.

A fun experience: I came in with the mentality of hating it just because of previous Maddens and I have to say this one so far is better. I found myself actually enjoying playing the game which was weird.

Graphics-Obviously presentation is a big thing for EA and it looks good except for a few things.

Cons:

Offense: Sometimes your AI receivers do some very dumb things. I ran the same fade route 3 times in a row and my receiver blankly watched the ball fall in front of him everytime....what is that lol.

Defense: Absolutely zero running stop before giving up 5 or 6 yards. I couldnt seem to get any sacks because the CPU QB would somehow manage to sling it a millisecond before I got him.

Graphics: I've got a love hate relationship with the character models. Sometimes I think they look good but then sometimes I think they look cartoonish. I just think they could have been a bit more polished but I guess that's EA's way of getting you to pay for the next gen copy too.

Overall I would say I had an enjoyable experience and I'm definitely getting it when it drops.

8.5/10
