They get a first down which brings them into the red zone (FG range), so I call a time out with 1:15 left.

Next play, hand off to Rice - (Looking good so far, thinking they want to keep milking the clock until it winds down and kick the winning Fg), So i call a TO with 1:07 to go

Next play they hand off again to Rice, IO go to call another Time Out, but they do right at 1:01 (The magic number from every other madden on this gen).

Next play incomplete pass

Next play Rice Run and they call a time out right away to set up a FG.

They make it bbut leave me about 45 seconds. I return the kick to just over the 50. Three passes later I hit Boldin for a TD and I win

So I am guessing the 1:01 TO is still in as is the poor clock management. play calling wasnt awful, just dumb usage of Time outs
Seems like mixed results to me, which isn't a good thing.

I thought my experience was great for late game AI.

@kstar12

does it help to "press" the receiver on preplay to stop the Curl? I thought I did 2 curl passes and the defender was standing right in front of the receiver. So maybe it does depend on the play you pick. maybe.

How is Zone defense working for all of you on the demo? I haven't chosen many, but i think it works better than past games? Maybe?

Also, how effective is Blitzing in Madden in general over the years? Do you do blitzes a lot? Are things like corner and safety blitzes totally out of the question for Madden? Any advice, I never knew how effective or dangerous blitzing is on this game, so I usually veered away from doing it.

Aaron Rodgers helmet looks ridiculous on him.

Seattle ran a zone-read play on me (all-pro) and Wilson took it 80 yards for a TD, my defenders didn't even get close to him.

Default game speed feels slow to me, will take some getting used to.

Threw a pass with Rodgers and it was a rocket, speed of ball felt disproportionate to default game speed.

It is mixed. I had the same experience as you, but just had a game where the AI took their timeouts too quickly. 3 of them in fact and left plenty of time for me to comeback and win w/ a FG of my own. The AI could have easily called the TO's much later in the clock to set it up for themselves.

Its good because you have to commit to the middle or sidelines. It becomes a chess match.
.I like it, except when the CPU converts on 3rd downs.

Penalty sliders seem to still have a major impact on gameplay instead of the penalty "whistle rate".

OPI, DPI are huge.

Does anyone KNOW how AWR, PRC, MCV, really effect how defenders play WR's in this game ? What ratings of the WR do they counter ? It sure would be nice to know how this all works without guessing so I can better understand why I am seeing WR's with much lower ratings making higher rated defenders look like rookies.

maybe I'm not noticing the details, but I think the jerseys look damn good.

On a brighter note, it appears that assisted tackles are at least partially fixed. Multiple AST plays can now be recorded per game per team (unlike M13).

They still don't always trigger the statistic counter, but it seems improved.

Yup, downloading here on ps3. Hopefully it's as good as it sounds!

Could you clarify this? Are you saying that DPI and OPI are working? These havent worked ever. I played 70 games of M13 last year and had 2 DPI calls.

Try playing by the "no switch" rule you'll see an difference

No, I'm saying that they affect how players play more than how the penalty is called. Just like in Madden 13.

To me the game feels extremely smooth.

Still feels like "Madden" but it much improved.

The uniforms and field degradation look amazing. ( execpt for the mirror effect of dirt on the arms )
