Recruiting

  • Bonus points are allocated per recruit when your strengths match his interests
  • Signing Day has been introduced for official commitments
Coaching Skills
  • RPG element to Coaching (Coach XP, levels and skills)
  • XP gained for on field performance, meeting milestones and even for recruiting
  • Structure of Coach Skills seem similar to NFL Head Coach 09 skill tree
  • Skills broken down into 3 categories (Recruiting, Offensive and Defensive)
  • HC controls how all skills are assigned (Can assign the skills for your OC and DC too)
  • Coordinators are only responsible for their own skills

Not quite the "all-new dynasty" I was hoping for but I do like the changes to recruiting and the coach skills sounds great.

AJ,

Do you know if CPU recruiting logic was improved/tweaked at all? A lot of highly rated recruits would be ignored by the CPU, making it too easy for the player to land them, even as a low prestige program. Any idea if that's been addressed for '14?

With the export draft class feature back in, will we still see the projected round of each draft eligible player at the end of the season?

What's frustrating for me is the logic behind schools offering recruits. It bugs the hell out of me when the #3 overall recruit and #1 HB, has 5 offers. It's need to be WAY more realistic.

The elite recruits need to have 15-25 offers from all the elite schools and all the regional schools. For example, the #2 WR in the country who is 6'1 205lbs and lives in CA, needs to have offers from almost the entire PAC 12, plus schools like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Nebraska etc.

It's the little things that make the game for me, and the coach XP is a welcome addition and should make dynasty more fun to play, but if the offering logic has not been fixed, then that will be a problem for me.

I just want this game to be as realistic as possible, and something like offering logic can't be that hard to implement.

Are there any changes to progression?
Are there any changes to offseason besides shortened recruiting weeks?

Thanks

The reason the highly rated recruits didn't have many offers was because the CPU already knew they were busts.

Also, I think it's kinda funny that the "All-New Dynasty" is just recruiting on last-gen plus Superstar Coach mode.

Agreed....not "all-new," but definitely "improved."

Yes, you will be able to export draft classes for Madden 25.

I'm extremely happy to see a return to the simplified "points only" recruiting. I loved how simple and efficient this method was on PS2.

Ehhhh and to think I was looking forward to this for the last moth and a half.

But the issue with that is that the busts could still be in the 70's, and thus still worth recruiting for most schools. And I did see this with non-busts. I remember getting a 79 ovr DT, #2 in the nation, from Florida as Missouri because only WVU was actively recruiting him. This was on Heisman. That was actually one of the main examples I can remember that turned me off of the game.

That wasn't his question. His question was if we would still see the projected draft information in the Dynasty off-season like was introduced last year.

CPU teams will now have the potential to go all in on a prospect in the off-season. The shortened off-season you mentioned is broken down into "Spend" week and "Result" week.

Real teams make mistakes, too. How long has this board complained about the top teams taking all the best players and leaving nothing for smaller schools and how unrealistic it was??

Wow. So really only one off-season recruiting week? That's awesome.

Thanks for taking questions, I have one.

Did you guys look into the depth chart logic for this version.

Here's a discussion about it;

So there are not calling the recruits this year at all? What about making promises... has this been removed too?
