MLB 13 The Show News Post

One of the most anticipated features in MLB 13: The Show this season is The Show Live feature, which allows you to play any game of the MLB 2013 season with the correct rosters, pitching matchups, and conditions. Promised was situational accurate commentary, and other presentational touches to give you the feel that you are playing the exact game that is played in real life.

The initial returns of The Show Live's first full day on the job seems to be somewhat positive. However, there are several roster gaffes being reported, as well as other odds and ends including live scores not updating fast within the mode.

There are surely bugs that will continue to be worked out -- we will have our full review of this mode coming up later this week after we get some more time with it.

How is your first day with The Show Live going?

I like it. The Bullpen for some teams has some players that are not in the game so they just fill them in with random FA pitchers. I was playing Astros-Rangers and in the Astros bullpen were: Brian Wilson Dallas Braden and K Rod. Kinda weird but i'm sure these things will get fixed.

Field had no color all white and grey and then the game crashed.

I played the Yankees/Red Sox game and I crushed the Sox. Too bad it didn't go that way in real life. It'll get better as the new people are added next week.

Did you try playing that game today? I am hoping that on game day they may be incorrect, with missing players or rookies, but by the next day they are utd.

Love this feature. I'll be using this feature quite a bit. Kudos to SCEA for giving us this option

Way to go in to detail.

I like it might use it from time to time

First Game I played nearly got a PG Kershaw and then Posey broke it up

1) Rosters not accurate (i.e. Brewers Khris Davis made team 2 days ago and had debut today yet wasn't on roster).

2) weather not accurate. It was 34 in Minneapolis today.

If he debuted today, why would you expect him to be on the roster in the game today?

Because he was officially part of the team 2 days ago.

Doesn't work that way. Hadn't participated in a Major League game, so he's not eligible as per the MLBPA agreement.

He'll be in next week's roster update most likely.

Regardless the mode is pointless when there are 8 rookies on the Brewers and none are available.

Ideally they would update the roster within the day or so when players become eligible. Just don't think that's feasible from a logistics standpoint.

I think we're looking at about a week for the majority of those players to be added.

Pure guess though so don't quote me.

Well I think we're going to have this problem anytime a prospect is called up. Imagine if Profar got called up tomorrow and started? Part of the fun would be to play the key moment of that players debut...kind of like Madden Moments.

Technically you still could. You can go back and play any game from any day.

I agree with what you're saying, but also have to be realistic on what they're technically capable of. Not to mention the PSN limits.

Is MLB Live just an exhibition game with upated Roster? What is my "benefit" to play an MLB Live game?
