MLB 13 The Show News Post

One of the most anticipated features in MLB 13: The Show this season is The Show Live feature, which allows you to play any game of the MLB 2013 season with the correct rosters, pitching matchups, and conditions. Promised was situational accurate commentary, and other presentational touches to give you the feel that you are playing the exact game that is played in real life.

The initial returns of The Show Live's first full day on the job seems to be somewhat positive. However, there are several roster gaffes being reported, as well as other odds and ends including live scores not updating fast within the mode.

There are surely bugs that will continue to be worked out -- we will have our full review of this mode coming up later this week after we get some more time with it.

How is your first day with The Show Live going?

This has been a rare swing-and-a-miss for SCEA(if you'll pardon the pun), but this mode is virtually unplayable. I tried it again yesterday and the pitchers were completely off in the Rangers-Royals game. In addition to this, Berkman was hitting ninth. The best thing to do is just to use Exhibition mode.

yes this mode is a complete mess and an utter disappointment.

Well for me The Show Live is the only feature I use in this game, and is the reason why I play the game, so I can play the days games, and this feature makes it easier for me, since before, I had to copy down lineups, now the lineups are there already and ready for play. There are though some glitches on this feature such as on the bench/bullpen, the top rated free agents on the free agent pool pop up, especially Brian Wilson, but I think that they pop up on the bench/bullpen because it's probably replacing a player that is not on the SCEA rosters, but the type of reliever in the bullpen (Closer, Middle RP, Setup Man), are mixed up such as sometimes the closer is listed as the setup man, and one of the starters is listed as the closer, etc. Another problem is the commentary of the game, such as in the start of the game, the announcers always say it's 'Game One", which is not always the case, it can be game 2, or 3 of series. The weather is also a factor, such as sometimes when you quit and start again, the weather changes, such as you open the same game, it's sunny, then you quit, and play that same game, the weather changes to overcast, then quit again, play that same game, the weather changes to rain, I think that the weather needs to be improved, and try to make it live weather like live lineups like in the EA games, the weather is live and powered by The Weather Channel, I suggest for MLB 14 The Show, it tries to partner with a network such as FOX, and the weather would be live powered by FOX. The good thing about this mode is the rosters are accurate, and before starting every game, I always load the SCEA rosters, and the rosters also do reset when you start The Show Live, and the rosters most of the time are accurate such as lets say there is a player in real life that is on the DL, they won't appear on the bench or bullpen. Although it sucks that players that are making there debuts, the players that are not on the SCEA roster, don't pop up on the lineup, and listed as TBA, and even though you upload a roster with that player that's not on lineup, he won't pop up in games lineup. Other glitches are sometimes on the games lineup, some slots are blank which messes up the lineup, and sometimes when starting the game, the lineup changes sometimes, but I haven't experienced that recently though. Thank you SCEA for adding this mode, I've been waiting for a mode like this.
