are the camera angles on putting really that awful?

I encountered a couple of the issues that have been mentioned. Firstly, something is definitely up with the green speeds. They're off. Way off compared to year's past. I enjoyed having to lag putts on tournament speeds. In this game, it's not as touchy. I miss it.

Secondly, I had an AI golfer win a tourney at -6....and the guys directly behind him were at -10, -9, -8 etc. So this is clearly something that will need to be patched.

Yes it works fine. Used it day one on the PS3.

No doubt something is up with the scoring. Just played a tourney where the cut line was +7, I finished at +6 and missed the cut. Gotta admit if EA let this slip through the cracks and this is indeed an issue/bug they ought to be ashamed of themselves. Makes Career mode completely broken.

I really am enjoying the game sofar. But I'm almost only playing career mode, because there are two issues that kill online play for me:

1. I won an online match against two players - one quitted after the first hole - and in the end it rates the game "lost" for me and puts my DNF up - although I won!?
2. I neither see the shot arcs of my fellow online partners, nor do I see them actually putting or anything - they're just standing on the green without doing anything. So it more or less feels like I'm playing on my own.

Are these known issues to you?

Known issues that should be fixed server side ASAP. Thanks for your feedback.

I think they give the game a black eye, in many cases... not always, but in my experience, probably 60 to 70% of putts of greater than ~10 feet. I think they deprive you of roll and break data that you should have been able to see from your golfer's point of view (or swing camera point of view to be more accurate) in real time. If you miss your long approach putt, there are many times when you can't tell which direction the ball broke, let alone how much it broke!?

The apologists for it say "well all you have to do is go back and watch a replay, select the swing camera replay angle, and see how it broke. (Sigh).... 1.) why should I have to consult a replay to see what I should have seen in real time?, 2.) this is unnecessarily busy and time consuming, 3.) replays are not an option at all in online multiplayer. I think they just got swept away with the TV Broadcast presentation theme and lost sight of the fact that we're playing the game as golfer's, not sending them commands and then sitting back and watching them play the game on TV.

The Executive Producer for the game, Sean Wilson, said over the weekend that they will explore the potential for making a stationary, swing camera angle camera perspective for putting while using Follow cam be the default production. There has been enough criticism of it to wake him up to how strong the sentiment is against the current presentation. Whether this is patchable or not, Sean can't say for sure, but I'm glad they're at least going to explore the possibility. This is a game killer for me, if they don't get the stationary putting camera option done in the form of a patch, I won't be buying this year.

Seems like game determines player's result in competition when player finishes his round, for example if projected cut is at +4 and you play +5 you will miss the cut even if the cut goes down to +8 when cpu players finish their rounds.

Also it was mentioned at EA forums that same happens in final round, if you are in the lead when you finish your round weird things will happen when cpu players finish their rounds.

Temporary fix for these issues is to play only 1 round in competitions, I played one 18-hole competition and I was playing in the last group so there will be no simulation of scores after my round. You can adjust these settings in Career options. No need to restart your career to change competitions to last 1 round only.

Could anyone let me know how many players can play offline in Quick Tournament mode. Thanks.

I just don't get it.

So no one at EA or whoever does QA played career mode to pick up on this glitch?

Huge head scratcher and I won't be touching it until that is patched.

As much as I like this game I can't recommend it to anyone after running into this problem. UNREAL. If you are a Career Mode player stay away at least until this is fixed

Hard to ignore some of what you guys are posting above. Those sound like huge defects and will make Career Mode play very uneven.

As far as the game itself goes, I've been enjoying it. I play on Simulation with Zoom to Aim on and Green Grid on to try and simulate knowing yardages and how to read a green. All other settings are default sim. My CAG is a Control Fade player with High trajectory.

With AI Difficulty on Hard (instead of normal) I "won" the U.S. Am and played in the final round of the U.S. Open. I came in 3rd out of 4 amateurs at +3 (low am was at -3). Came in T10 or so in Q School and thought I was well on my way to being a start.

1st round in Web.com Season Opener = +4 and T for last. Second round another +4 and a missed cut.

Second event, E in Round 1 (thanks to a hole in one) and then a 79 in round 2 to miss the cut.

My biggest issue is distance. There are Par 4's that I can't reach in 2, which seems a little silly but that's the challenge. Not sure if it'll get easier or if I'm just terrible but enjoying the challenge.

I'm most likely going to buy the game anyway but its very discouraging to read that something as basic and fundamental as "scoring" isn't working correctly.

We talk about Q&A all the time with EA but to be honest I don't really think they have a Q&A department. At least not one that plays the game, I'd bet their Q&A consists of people checking for code errors not gameplay errors, it would certainly explain why EA games are perpetually in need of corrections, but I could be wrong.

Are these scoring issues only with simulation stats? Can we at least expect online scoring to be accurate? I can live with playing online tourney's with our clubhouse until things get fixed. But if its broken on both ends....I don't know.

So if you do the math, I would estimate at least 15 events were erased in his career progression and he had to start most of the first season all over again. Ouch!!!

Stuff like this is inexcusable. They need to hold thier QA dept responsible for this and hire people who will do the job correctly because in the end EA is the ones who suffer when sales tank because of obvious game killing bugs.
As long as people keep buying the game before reviews or despite bugs like this, what is EA's incentive to spend more on QA? See the last 5 years of EA's NCAA Football series for reference.

Maybe there is a day 1 patch tomorrow to fix some of the issues?

It's your type of golfer.

I started off with a control golfer (playing on SIM I wanted that extra help with accuracy.

I decided to switch it up and see how I would do with a power golfer. It added a good 30-40 yards avg on my drive, making it much easier to reach the green (or around the green for an up and in) in 2.

I suggest giving it a try. It's really not my style to have a power swing, but it's helped me a bunch, at least in the early stages. Once I progress further I may try switching it back to control.

I didn't buy last years game until December so, I'm not sure how they did with getting timely patches out but, in TW12 they were very slow and just never patched some things. Of all the EA games I play each year, TW seems to be the worst at getting patches. I just don't hold out much hope that all this stuff will get fixed in a patch. I hope they prove me wrong though because the core gameplay is the best it has ever been in a TW game (in the demo at least, which is all I've played).

Still excited to get the game which Gamefly shipped out today.

Another problem is online we are getting different wind speeds. Can't have that. When playing 4 round tournaments vs friends we can't use live weather every round. So we need this patched as well. U put calm winds on or anything but live weather then it is different on each of our screens.

Quick question FLIGHT, are you paying attention to the T-Scores. Meaning if the cut is top 50, and +7 is 50 and you shoot +6 and are T-49, maybe since you are in the spot, you are more than 50 golfers taking into consideration ties (T-scores)

I have no idea but just a thought if you think that is the problem.
