I know the game doesn't go by names but it is hi-freaking-larious that Jason Heyward plays for the Rangers, Andrew McCutchen plays for Boston and Stephen Strasburg plays for Toronto in the year 2014....

Its crazy how true to life this game is. When I give up hits and get frustrated and start rushing through everything to get the next pitch off it just gets worst. Just played a game against the Tigers and told myself I would be patient, watch cut scenes or at least half of them. Gave up 9 hits but only 2 runs as I would settle down and take my time.

True to life? Well, I really can't say that, not with Dewayne Wise pulling 2 Kershaw fastballs, one low inside, in cold zones for homers in same game. Wise is 35 years old with 40 contact and 47 power.

First of all, the game reacts to patterns, so if all you are doing is throwing to cold zones, they will sit on that.

Second, this is a one off, I haven't looked but I would guess that Wise probably has a two homer game at some point in his career. Either way, way worse players have had two home run games off of top pitchers.

I noticed that after fantasy drafts, most of the teams carry 9 RPs on the MLB team instead of 6 in past versions. This leaves them with barely any bench players.

6 or 7 is fine, but 9 seems too many. Hopefully this can be fixed.

Well, it must be a cold zone for a reason! Wise having a 2 homer game? Take a look at his career stats. First of all, he is 35 years old, and players start declining after age 31. Secondly, with contact at 40 and power at 47, I am amazed he could pull both those pitches in his cold zone for, not just hits, but home runs!

I had Adrian Gonzalez whack pitches in his hot zone, perfect timing, and all he managed was a single and fly out that wasn't even deep. Now, I am not saying Gonzalez hasn't hit a home run, but if Wise can hit 2 in one game, Gonzalez should have hit at least 2 in one game and he hasn't.

In the Play Now games, I was hitting cold zones and not one single home run. I start a franchise and whammo! What do you expect, pitchers to throw in a batter's hot zones? Sometimes I do, not often, throw in the hot zone, but that's when I am confident about a certain pitch against a batter. Mostly I do aim for cold zones. Just for the sake of clarity, I do not throw every pitch in cold zones. I do not try for a strike on every pitch.

Your talking like this is something unheard of. Declining players hit HRs off the bets of them. It happens. Then you give your Adrian Gonzalez example. Understand what you experienced is a small sample size. If this was just the norm for the game declining players power happy while actual sluggers only getting singles then you would have a point.

They beat him up pretty badly. I loved how Classic Pitching highlighted the deficiencies in Meyers repertoire. Especially, when I tried to pitch around Weiters by throwing a ball basically at his ankles, only to have it drift over the plate for a 2 run double.

On offense I was helpless. Their number 1 didn't even bother pitching around my lineup. Threw a lot of strikes.

Then I brought the Tigers to Baltimore and immediately noticed his differences.

First, Verlander was on point and he rarely missed his spots. Only once did he get hurt and it was on a 3-2 change up to Machado that was supposed to drop in the dirt (up to that point most of my k's were from that pitch) but never dropped. Machado put it off the top of the wall in left center, scoring the only 2 runs of the game for Baltimore.

Offensively, they must have been scared of the Tigers lineup because the very same number 1 who threw lots of strikes against the Indians pitched around just about everyone in my lineup.

Classic Pitching may be even better than previous years, and I thought it was near perfect then. It so separates what you can do with elite pitchers that you can't with inferior pitchers.

No regrets having purchased this game!
That's a great post, and it just shows how the AI behaves very realistically in those situations.

I'm expecting my game delivered from Canada in the next few days so I can't wait to see for myself

No, Rockies actually

I live in England and most of us European Show fans have been getting the game shipped from Canada for the last few years, the price is decent and service is good.

Ordered last weekend and it was shipped 3 or 4 days ago so not far away now hopefully!

Is there a patch list forum yet? I had a baserunner completely disappear from second base when I tried to tag up on a flyball to right-center. As soon as I pressed the button for him to advance, he disappeared from the field. When the next batter came up, the baserunner was not on the field. I wasn't charged an out.

Dude, Tuffy Rhodes hit 3 HR on Opening Day in 1994. He hit 13 in his illustrious career, 8 of them that season.

Do you want everything to work out to exact percentages, or do you want the game to be realistic. This stuff happens.
