Hi. I have a quick question..how does live keep the stats of each game you play? For example if I play the first week of the season and Votto is batting 450 with 7 hrs..,will it keep those stats or does it default back to his real stats he has so far in the season? Basically do the stats that occur while you play count towards the players stats throughout the season? Thanks!

I get to watch the Cubs, Sox and whatever is on ESPN, FOX or MLBN.
I dont get the luxury of YES, MASN NESN, CSNW or whatever else.

So while I prob wouldnt watch the CPU play the CPU, it might be cool to catch a game or two.
lol are you being serious???

No it doesn't track stats that way, or you cannot substitute your stats and real-life stats, either way... it's more of a 'see how you did compared to real life' type of deal.

One cool thing about Universal Profile is that you can track your personal stats across the different modes.

Let's say I play the 10th game of the Phillies season and they win that game in real life and have a 6-4 record. If I play that 10th game in The Show and lose, will their record in the game be 5-5 and stay that way, or will the following days game in The Show have their record be the real life 6-4?

Same thing with stats. If Ryan Howard has 5 home runs in real life after 10 games and then I play that 10th game and hit a home run with him will his stats stay at 6 home runs or reset back to 5 the next day?

Is it just straight exhibition games every day, or does everything you personally do in one of those games carry over to the next?

Hope that all came out easy to understand.

It's an exhibition mode right now, as opposed to a MLB Live "Season" mode. However, this definitely opens up possibilities for the future!

I don't think there's any continuity, the games are more similar to exhibition than franchise. Like theslab said, your stats will be accumulated in your universal profile, nothing more...

Edit:

What he said lol. Damn I must be really slow at typing, the number of times I've been ninja'd...

I did want to add one other thing to the subject, that no one had asked yet... you are locked into the stadium in which the game is actually played in real life (which makes sense to me.)

That said, two things I forgot to inquire about during CD were:

- The availability of the mode for 2013 Spring Training (which would have to have something in place for stadium selection, and split-squad games)
- I didn't ask or check whether the "live" weather was included (thinking of a current debate in the weather thread)

Ok, that's more than one more thing, but you get the picture...

Maybe one of the other attendees know?

your asking for the game to play out play by play of games that have already been determined?? Sounds absurd to me is why I ask

Well no, I wasnt asking, someone else was. I just can see the desire for it seeing as how most people cant watch more than their local games or the GOTW.

But I think he was asking can we go to any game and let the CPU play CPU and just watch.
Regardless if the outcome of the game is true to life.

It would also allow us to see who the most popular teams are amongst all of us.

Also would like to see the presentation show lots of info like Current Standings, League Leaders, upcoming team schedules with pitching match ups and so on.

Hopfully these things can be added to The Show Live 2.0 Mode next year
Next year?! This is the BEST mode addition ever. It's the one mode that I will be FORCED to play before I go into franchise! I loved playing the games that happened in real life on 2k10.. This will be so much better( maybe minus the flow of stacked commentary)

yea would be cool to see how the AI reacts in certain situations and how close all games come to the actual outcome for those gamblers out there lol

I don't see anything wrong with this at all. I enjoy CPU vs CPU games and to do it with the actual lineups and pitching matchups lends more authenticity to it.

A question I have tho, is are the ratings for the players in these games based on the out of the box rosters or based on roster updates?

Im referring to the OP, asking for the CPU vs CPU to play the game out as it happened IRL. Pitch for pitch etc

I think its a great addition also and there is always room for improvment

Bug . The first boxscore they highlight in the video has Brett Gardner batting 7th and playing LF..... And batting 9th and Catching

Youre right, he did ask for the CPU game to play out as it did IRL.
That would be difficult if not impossible coding, but maybe not.
It amazes me how they are able to recreate the actual playoffs in some of their teaser trailers.
