The Show Live allows you to play any games from the 2013 MLB schedule with the most up-to-date rosters, lineups, and statistics, fed directly from MLB.com. Whether the game is starting in an hour, or was played a month ago, the presentation and commentary in The Show Live is dynamic to the landscape of the MLB on the date the game was scheduled. Relive a player’s 40th Home Run, clinch the pennant for a team that choked it away, or play along with the game you’re watching or listening to. The Show Live is a mode for the truest of MLB fans.
I love the part where he's talking about the MLB Live "hub" screen and being able to use it to keep up with what is happening around the league on the Vita while he's watching his White Sox on the TV.
It got me thinking, imagine if they integrated MLB.TV into MLB Live, so (with MLB.TV subscription) you could select any game on the hub screen and watch it Live or on replay. Imagine if they even took it a step further with MLB.tv while you are watching the game and allow you to "jump into" the game at any point and play it from there.
Pie in the sky but this is the kind of stuff that would be amazing down the line.
Sounds and looks awesome!
One thing though, maybe I missed it but can you also load up a live game that's still being played and then play from there?
Probably too much to ask
No, you would have to start that game from inning 1 with that days lineups.
SN: LOL gotta love Nick's enthusiasm about his Sox...
So you cannot alter the lineup. Is that just the starting lineup or the entire lineup the entire game?
Just starting lineups, and I think those may even be able to be changed on games that have yet to start... If that makes sense. I don't know for sure because, obviously, all of The Show Live matchups we played were from the 2012 season (in the past) - I did exact revenge on the Giants by replaying the World Series. So in my world, we are the champs! lol
Are there any incentives to playing this mode like points of some sort? For instance, NHL 13 has the NHL Live Moments that you can beat and then transfer the points into ultimate team. They do not and should not do it for every single game but maybe special games. So in a game where a team clinches a playoff spot, or a pitcher pitches a no hitter you would have to repeat that success in that game. The game could provide you with some points to add to your RTTS player. And if they only did this for games they deemed special for one reason or another then it wouldn't go overboard. Just some thoughts to ponder I guess.
Very cool! This is really making the game feel more connected with the virtual "world" and not just isolated to the on field game. Gives it a more immersed feel.

I think most will find that MLB 13 The Show and all its parts are sewn together extremely well this year giving you a great experience from front to back.

Well, you do gain XP points towards your Universal Profile for playing any of the modes, TSL included. Right now there is no reward system in place, but the groundwork is there to expand upon it going forward. Also, all games (or I should say game situations) are weighted the same as it relates to universal profile XPs.
