While the NBA Live 13 trailer shows the game in action, according to Kotaku, it might be the last we see of it, for quite some time.

Quote:
Questioned by Kotaku, an EA Sports spokesman refused to discuss release format, time frame, or the game's anticipated feature set. Asked why this series, which has been off shelves for three years, couldn't hit an Oct. 2 release date with a 70-man team in place for a year, he said:

"We're not going to get into that level of detail with this announcement. In early April, you saw where we were with this project and how ambitious it was, that they had to take down the code of Elite and rebuild it. Its easy to surmise that also took time, in the development cycle, to get the whole thing up to speed. It was an ambitious project and it is a challenging game to create."

delayed indefinitely, so we dot quite know that yet, judging from elite 11, i would say its a couple of weeks for a cancelation announcement, and another announcement of a 3yr vision!

Lol! If they cancel this game, I will never buy another EA sports game. I'm still waiting for the tell all blog post about this game and Elite.

There, I fixed it so that you don't look like a blind and crazy man that would say Ernest Borgnine was a good looking man...

That game looked AWESOME. But that was the only positive, sadly.

Agreed. But I'm still waiting on the answer for the question: why did they wait? For the record, after Elite was cancelled, didn't they say they were still working on it in the following February?

NBA Live 10 was fun, if this is and updated version of that with new features and what ever.. it's worth at least 20 bucks, it already looks better than 2k 13 in some aspects of the game but as of right now the scale is still tilting heavily in 2ks favor. I grew up on live so i will support it if i see theyre are actually trying, but phuck that Madden ****, im about done with wasting my money on that bullshiiit.

That is correct.

That's if you are one of the few that thinks Live's total presentation is better...

I swear you could compress these 22 pages into one post: "This game sucks!"

But it seems like clowning Live is the cool thing to do. You can't even have a constructive conversation here because of this mental diarrhea. I understand people are disappointed that EA continually comes up short, but the same ol' jokes in every thread gets tiresome.

On topic: The animations still look herky-jerky. I wonder if they've actually done mo-cap since Live 10 because it seems like they're just recycling these awkward animations. They claim to have a vast animation library but they sorely need an upgrade or complete overhaul. The passing, dunk, layup, and rebound animations all look strange. The movements don't even look human-like. It's as if they applied an electric shock to their mo-cap athletes as they performed.

One animation that did look nice was Dirk's fade-away. It appears signature moves are finally back. This should be one of their main focuses along with smoother animations. I was playing the Elite demo yesterday and everyone played the same with the exception of their standard jumpshot. That's not nearly enough to distinguish each player. The least they can do is assign a variety of animations to different players even if they aren't signature.

They player models need work but it doesn't really bother me. Improving the animations and A.I. are paramount to me.

Not bad...not bad at all. Better than what i thought, especially all things considered coming from E3.

The player models are really bad. Why does everyone have the same frame? Paul Pierce looked like a twig.

# 196 Guard-ian @ 09/14/12 06:49 AM
I don't mind about player models, even animations are secondary to me. I want to see gameplay and how real it is, that is what I am looking for actually.

I would like to have the same doubts or to be as lucky as soccer fans, this year is not that easy to decide between Fifa or Pro or even both, we don't have two "quality" basketball games since Live10-2k10, so I am looking forward to EA waiting for them to deliver, on the long term It would be a benefit for every NBA basketball fan...

Cheers! ;-)

Its obvious they put a ton of dunks in it to cover up the stale gameplay.

# 198 Keljb85 @ 09/14/12 10:02 AM
What a joke and stiffness with players is ridiculous.

Good lord, man. Follow the conversation. I was talking about the graphics in Sony's game.

Thank God they don't have the exclusive license for basketball too. This is the kind of junk we would have gotten, with a massive hype machine behind it. The games would have released and been garbage but still would have had tons of people loving it and tirelessly defending it. Anyone asking for 2K to make a basketball game would have been told there's no guarantee 2K would have ever made anything better. It would have been Madden 6-12 all over again.

They should just give the game away to season ticket subscribers as an incentive to sell season ticket and try and get the game up to the level of a legitimate release game for next year.

Too bad for me football is my favorite sport...
