Here it is, our first glimpse of NBA Live 13 in action.

After watching this again for some reason I was perhaps a bit nice in my review earlier in the thread. EA is

in their own minds but no one elses sadly.

I've never considered NBA 2K to be an inferior product even while being a huge fan of NBA Live. NBA Live's problems are a lot more major in prohibiting a simulation basketball experience. The way the game has played just isn't acceptable in this generation if EA has indeed been aiming for a simulation experience. EA had a great foundation to build off of with NBA Live 10 but it was scrapped unnecessarily. Ever since then it's even more apparent that EA has no clue how to provide a realistic basketball experience. I wouldn't have a problem with that dated engine Live is using if those jerky animations didn't come with it. Players don't move like human basketball players and that's a big problem. All the players look capable of dribbling at the same skill level which is another problem. I had hopes for this franchise to make some kind of comeback but not after this. NBA Live 13 isn't just "by no means perfect", it's downright awful and an insult to the game of basketball.

This look absolutely horrible, the player models look strange and the gameplay and animation looks very stiff and unrealistic.

this direction is not REAL basketball

it doesn't look, move and play like REAL basketball

they arent going to release on pc for a while, EA sport game like basketball and football is getting away from pc..... dont really know why, i know they mention piracy as one of the main reasons, but i really dont believe that, its all about money, there is money to be made in console.... but i dont think modders can fix those issue, thats more core code issue, i highly doubt modders will be able to fix that, never know, but they will need the software the game was created on to fix those issue, in which they probably will never get

I love the skating in this video. Maybe the hockey dude heading this project forgot that he was working on Live instead of the NHL series.

2k might have all of those problems, but it is still a better and more realistic game than this out of date crap, PERIOD. Im not writing a paragraph to prove my point because once you look at both of these games you could actually see which one the majority of people would like more.

I was really hoping Live would bring something, but after watching the video I can�t even express how disappointing it is. If they were not calling out the names I could not tell Westbrook from Charlmers, Ibaka from Wade. They all seem to move, stand and shoot the same. This video would have been beast, if it was 1996 and the system was a Playstation.
I am half hoping that 2k moves on to a brand new engine and declares there current one open source so we can see some competition next year, this year will be the 3rd straight one basketball title year.

It does look like an early build, from 2007. This game looks terrible. I had to turn it off, the lifeless generic players was putting me to sleep. I use to play EA basketball until I was introduced to 2K basketball in 2009. I will never go back, especially not for this crap.

I am not going to pile on Live, but this post needs a reality check. YOU seem to forget that The Live franchise had a 10 year head start with Lakers Vs Celtics. You forget that the worse versions of 2K were across platform generations, but the series has consistently improved. You forget that for every issue in 2K, a concerted effort to fix those issues pops up quite quickly every subsequent year or two. You list nitpicks of the game, yet you neglect to mention that those same nitpicks and more exist in Live. So, why try to tear down that game to defend Live. Is it VC's fault that people feel disappointed in this video? Stay off the completion. It's called deflection and it's a sad way to defend your apparent favorite title.

How do YOU know they lacked focus? Tiburon and EAC have smart and HARD working folks that care about what they do. Yet, you presume to know so much about what goes on there when it is clear you are talking out the side of your neck. Give it a rest man. Don't insult the people that make your game.
