Here it is, our first glimpse of NBA Live 13 in action.

UPDATE: EA has taken down the video. Look through the comments section and you might be able to see a few pop up there, until they are removed as well.

People keep saying that they should have built upon Live 10.

You guys are missing one OBVIOUS "reason" why that wouldn't be possible. This "reason" was not just contingent to the success of Live 10, HE WAS THE #1 COGNITIVE PIECE and because of his absence they had to start over from scratch because they didn't know what they were doing without him. Thus the birth of Elite 11, which would later go on to become the wake of NBA Live.

This Live 13 footage is just the viewing for the body before its buried.

I miss the days when Live was respectable. Like the one with Twista? LOVED that one. Think Snoop did the one immediately after that. Another great game.

But...time to start from scratch, EA. Retain NOTHING. I'd say no one, but I don't want people to lose they job over this...though they might have to. Especially if they were on Elite. I'll never forget the dudes sitting at computers talking about the great moments they just captured that got the whole office excited when they happened. Vids around YouTube somewhere...

As a former Live supporter this is just embarrassing. Even for an alpha build, there is no reason this game should look like Double Dribble 2012. It looks like it isn't even on a next gen system.

I really like the presentation and that's where it stops, this game looks trash.

When did EA start working on it, like last Friday? It looks like a freaking Wii port of NBA Elite.

I'm suprised no one used common sense yet and said maybe the dude playing as the heat was testing the game out for bugs, animations, etc and they werent trying to actually play the game. Calm down the game is pre-alpha footage look at the refs standing still, the time is moving down fast, and the sound is off. And EA even said at the beginning of August that they the game wasnt cancelled and they were trying to get into beta

The term "pre-alpha" has officially become as meaningless as "real time physics." The new definition of pre-alpha used in a sentence: "you didn't like our fully featured game? It's like PRE-alpha bro"

It's just another EA catchphrase that has been beaten to death on this board and others.

You ain't never lied cuzin! It's breaking my heart to see Live struggle like this but it's ea fault. They simply don't have the talent and haven't utilize their resources to put out a quality product. I'm thinking ea is not taking basketball seriously anymore and don't see it as being worth their time because theyre not seeing it as bein profitable enough. They only puttin in what they think hull get out of it and bank on the few loyal Live fans left. Very disappointing. Nba is a huge market and if I were the NBA i wouldn't resign with EA ever again. They've had 2 yrs!!! And this is the best the mighty power EA can do. I pray 2k can make a football game soon because All pro 2k8 engine is still superior to the madden 13...

First reaction after watching it yesterday: this is totally not close to final product footage. Pretty much confirmed by EA Sports at this point saying pre-alpha. This is EASILY alpha footage and really shouldn't be judged.

All sports games look this rough in pre-alpha.

While it is entirely possible EA said similar things when they showed Elite...turns out it was the final build (or near final)...so we have to take that into account when discussing this.

From what some have said, it appears to be from around July but a later build than what was seen at E3.

This could be an incredibly evil marketing play ot set the bar ULTRA low and then blow us out of the water or this is what it is and hopefully it is decent enough that they build on it for next year. Sadly its looking like the latter....something we shouldnt have to deal with in 2012, let alone from EA Sports....

IM NOT MAD at Live cuz i expected this game to be trash. game has been bad since game next gen era. but they give live users hope and i dont like that. how is nhl so good but nba and madden(up til this yr) look this bad. everyone that workeds on nba live should be laid off without pay.....hate all u want....i speak truth

I'm trying to resist commenting on this, however, it plays just the same as it did at the Elite 11 community day I attended. The presentation was NEVER the problem, we all actually loved that idea. The warping, skating, mechanics, lack of signature sets, etc.. is still present here.

Very frustrating.

As I've said since the Elite debacle, stop trying to add features, online modes, and all that garbage. Fix the core of the game first before you go building on top of a weak foundation.

Finally saw the video, and wow is all I have to say. Presentation in the beginning was great, but once the gameplay started, it just fell down from their. I was going to get Live a chance since Live 10 was a solid game, but its clear they havent used it as a base for this game. I dont buy the pre-alpha build unless they want to show a current build as of today, but everything from the menus, team select, and load up says other wise.

OFF Topic: Did not want to bring 2K into this, but with 2K giving us a choice on using the right stick for dribbling, and this video coming out, it makes I think a lot of people choices easier.
