This game deserves a 100 out of 10. The game is amazing, and anyone that is complaining about this or the Vita version is just hanging on to their pride. Good job, EA.

This game sounds like a real NFL game. The crowd is ridiculous. Gameplay is wide open; the play doesn't end until the whistle is blown.

I have been skeptical about Madden, but I have to eat crow now. People are always looking to analyze anything and everthing now-a-days because it is the "it-thing" to do now. Enjoy the game for ONE year. It is clear that they really turned it around.

Hmm I saw the exact opposite, I pressured Eli more in the 4th, got more sacks when the Giants were driving for the winning score and actually got a fumble to seal the win because I started to blitz more. I think it's way too early to complain about cheap A.I. I agree with the other poster that it was probably your fault in how you played each situation. Just my humble opinion.

Well i just scored me a copy for Xbox 360. Will be here Tuesday. CAN'T WAIT.

I was content on using my Season Ticket but I bought it last year for Madden 12 and it expired yesterday. Paid a little extra which I have no problem doing.

Guy has 1 more copy for PS3/Xbox 360. Here is the deal fellows. DirtyJerzy32, then Dookiewolf hit me up for details. These guys came at me first but if they don't want them then its free game.

after playing the game for a few days, here are my latest impressions.

Spoiler

i would say that if you can find yourself a solid online franchise to be apart of with like minded gamers as yourself, with a solid set of sliders, there is probably plenty of fun to be had with M13. for the simple fact alot of the major issues with customization dont really apply to the online aspects of the game. (or if your an offline gamer who approaches the game like an online gamer, meaning you basically play the game as is outside of the box aside from maybe tweeking some sliders abit)

on the other hand, i would say that if you are an exclusively offline gamer (user vs cpu), then imo M13 is not worth the price of admission. the gamer who plays exclusively offline for what the reason, has gotten the serious short in of the stick with M13. with the lack of some many key customization feature that would let you overcome or somewhat salvage any gameflaws, after playing the demo for 6 days i dont see anything with M13 that would give you any more joy than playing M12. (assuming you've finally gotten it to the point where your at peace with it)

also i think that the community as a whole has gotten the speed threshold direction all wrong. imo instead of a threshold of zero, i think the game plays best at a threshold of 95. (slow speed). try it i havent seen any warping of players or unrealistic hawkdowns. while not perfect this along with a mostly zero custom slider set has made the demo a heck of alot more enjoyable.

also some of the plays that were once considered broken seem to work with a higher speed threshold setting. esp plays with pulling OL

here's the sliders im using:

I love it. If you throw the ball to not open wide reciever your most likely going get picked off. But what's up with everyone falling over after the play over? I keep seeing this and players arms sometimes been backwards like they broke them and they get up? But I'm enjoying it.

dont worry about the after play animations. the retail copy has sorted that all put. looks much better.im an offline franchise gamer mostly as well and i have to say im not overly worried about it i think cc is going to be the best franchise mode in years by far. no edit of players equipment etc is stupid but i think i can live with it.

I don't want to get into too much detail here with my analysis of the demo, but this is the most fun I've had playing Madden ever.

I have limited Madden game experience since I've only been playing it since EA got exclusive rights to the NFL. Before that, I was exclusively playing the 2k series and LOVED those games. Still, that's about 7 years of playing Madden on our current gen consoles and I can honestly say this is the most fun I've had during this entire time. It's not even close.

Don't get me wrong, there's still SO many issues with Madden... but they all seem like they can actually be corrected for the first time in my playing experience. The two big issues are still foot planting/momentum/weight and Oline/Dline interactions but even they have improved slightly. All other issues are less significant, but they're easily fixed (e.g. improving the tackling physics a bit, sidelines, physics-less walls/posts, post-play animations, coaches - especially their bodies, etc...)

I now have little doubt this team will get the job done from here on out.

I've hated madden since like Madden 08 and Madden 13 is definitely fun and playable. I'm buying it for sure.

Let me start by saying I have not played a Madden game since 2005, so if I bring up things that might be "old", apologies.

First, I like the presentation in the beginning, and from what I've read of past versions, it's a step up.

Second, couple questions...

--Where are the camera options?
--In the Options Menu there is a "Coach Mode" that is inactive. What is that mode? Does the CPU control the players including kicking or ?
--Does anyone else notice that during the replays, the animations seem "blocky"?

Not sure if this has been answered, but does anyone know if the Patriots / Rams London game will be played in London on CC in M13?

only played two games and anyone saying they cant notice a difference in the engine, they just dont wanna see it. i will say it takes some getting used to. i do hope they sort out the after play stuff because although not a gamebreaker it does get old after awhile. guys just seemingly fall all over the place. i like that the DBs and WRs seem to fight for the ball together. havnt seen any penalties yet. i play on slow and that seems to work for me. the qb read play seems overly dangerous with RG3. hopefully that doesnt always happen, the defense seems to over persue to the HB leaving griffin with a mile of running room. used it 4 times and ran two long runs and two decent runs. only played twice though. commentary is definetly improved 125%. although i heard a few things that baffled me its a ton better then what it was. had KR and PR for TD. one with Banks and one with washington for seahawks. randy moss looks 22 not in his late 30s. a little worried about that. overall its the demo and not final build so my negatives can easily be fixed in a tuner. i really think we are headed in right direction, unfortunetly we are years behind so us gamers are a tough crowd to please. i also believe football is impossible to make perfect because there is too many opinions on how the game should be played. so we will always disagree and the game will never satisfy everyone. i do like where we are headed and i pray that offline CC mode will deliver. im a offline player so i depend on cpu AI to be good. this is definetly a day one buy for me and if you like nfl football then madden should definetly get you through the year.

For the first time since 1992, I won't be buying this game. For me, simply adding simple features and done well would go so far to make this game buyable.

One big area that looks to be once again ignored is a true representation of penalties. No defensive holding, no illegal contact, no personal fouls, just the typical sparse sprinkling of holding, offside, clipping, and even more rare, pass interference.

Once again, you can only send a man in motion one way without the ability of reversing his direction, what I call yo-yo motion.

Another year of not being able to customize camera angles.

Finally, I don't see the ability to shift formations.

Sadly, all four items l have listed were implemented in the last generation of games.

I don't care what engine has been implemented or lighting improvements made, or gimmicky new features added, if you can't experience the bevy of real-life penalties, move your players around realistically, and see it done the way you want then why bother with this game. And it isn't just omissions that is bringing me to this decision, it's year after year of hoping that the game will finally make me happy, but finding out it won't. I think it flat out sux; now what am I going to do?

I've been playing this demo all day. It's gonna be a long wait for this to come out. I really like how Eli feels in the game. He throws darts all over the field. You can really tell he's a top tier QB.

I literally JUST threw 5 picks with him in the first half and turned the game off lol.

I do love this demo!

I skipped the last two years but I'll be buying this year based off the demo.

I just saw a fantastic looking play using the 49ers against the Giants. Eli tried to throw a pass over the middle to Ahmad Bradshaw and Donte Whitner laid him out just as the ball got to him and it bounced off his hands up into the air and got picked off by me. It was one of the most natural looking plays I've seen in Madden in a long time. I was amazed.

Sure IE has some problems but plays like that really make it easy to overlook the problems.

I agree with you. At least the Infinity engine takes some of the predictability out of how a play is going to end. That's huge for a sports game and I have seen some amazing things in the demo as well.

I think the game feels fresh and has the best looking player models I have ever seen. Can't wait till next Friday so I can start my preseason with the Niners.

Skipped the last two years, so I might not be as jaded as I could be otherwise. That being said, the game is graphically beautiful, especially on replays when you can see the intricacies. Passing game is about how I remember it, which isn't to say it's bad. Same for defense at least IMO.

My main issue is still with the running game. In real life, RB's take little choppy steps while trying to navigate the holes opening (or closing) But Madden, especially for this generation, even after making the speed burst automatic, can't seem to capture this.

It always feels like your coming out of the blocks for a 100 meter dash instead of a measured pace that allows you to flow with the play. Perhaps that could work for some of the lesser backs, as that's a real life criticism that can keep players off the field. But for top tier guys like Arian Foster, Ray Rice, Shady Mccoy etc., patient running is how they operate, and it seems like Madden still isn't giving you that control. In conjunction with the rag doll effects that can hinder you if you bounce off your lineman, the running game still feels as unnatural as it ever.
