I know they said they added a bunch of features to the gameplay but it feels like m12 to me, am I the only one who feels that way?

Holy mother of god some people are just plain crazy and dumb as a box of rocks.

Or maybe they have more money than they know what to do with.

God bless them. And God bless the United States of America.

Capitalism at it's very finest right there.

Just played a game on All-Madden and that is where this game shines. The AI was smart versus being dumb as rocks on All-Pro. It took the appropriate timeouts and played a very smart game. Obviously this is how the game was suppose to be played.

All Pro was way too easy and All Madden I had my rear handed to me. I moved from zero interest to now a day one buy.

Why the he'll can't EA get the darn tackles right?? Check the career tackles for some of the players...

Don't know if this has been mentioned before.

Any chance they fixed the psychic CBs and safeties? As well as the 6ft-jumping LBs? How about the fact that the game had a mechanism if you played All-Madden that they would prevent you from creating a blowout?

Anything else fixed that ruined the last two versions?

I was very hard on the demo initially, but after a solid week of slider/Speed/Threshold tweaking i've found a comfortable balance and must say if the retail build cleans up a few snafu's here and there this will be the perfect base for madden to build upon in the years to come.

I Feel like alot of users issues with the game really stem from their fundamental lack of actual football experience and knowledge combined with sometimes unrealistic and unproductive demands. i Understand the AI issues for online play, but aside from that im tired of the excuses. This year the collision detection and planting are phenomenal so there is a sense of 1 on 1 WR vs DB in air that was simply not possible with the pre cans. That combined with this MUCH IMPROVED touch passing control. man you can throw some beautiful balls (pause)

To all the people with huge complaints (which i still have for other areas aside from gameplay)

but for the gameplay naysayers i really want you to try and identify some of the D's your seeing. Mix some of your packages up. really get into the chess game with some pull blocking. It seems like Madden really made an effort to get it right this year. Try a few wheel n go Hot routes and audibles against different D's. There really is a sense of running the offense/ defense respectively. although i feel the momentum from play to play could be represented a little better , as well as an auto hurdle (at least over fallen teammates if not opponents

Anybody know when the demo will be up for non gold members for 360?

IMO, it is just a touched up Madden 12. It plays almost exactly the same, except it plays a little better. The graphics have been upgraded, the tackling has been upgraded, the lead passing has been upgraded, but it is still fundamentally the same. None of the new features make you change the way you play the game.

One of the biggest gripes I've had about Madden for years that still exists is how the running game is completely stupid. The strategy in the running game is all about gap control. There is no real concept of gap control in Madden because if a player gets touched by an offensive lineman he gets sucked in front of him. In real football you have one and two gap assignments. If I rush the left A gap and get blocked, by the center, that doesn't mean I have to now not fill that gap until I shed the block. I can get blocked and still fill my assignment because I'm still in the gap.

This to me seems like it could be easily fixed within Madden's game play system. As long as they use a lock-on blocking system instead of real time physics for the blocking, all they have to do is add a side blocking animation. If a lineman throws a block into the left side of your defensive player, your defensive player shouldn't have to turn and face him. He should just lean in that direction to push back, allowing him to easily disengage if the RB runs to his right, but he should be sealed so he can't get there if the RB run behind the lineman to his left.

I love the demo apart from one thing that concerns me that I'm assuming (mother of all *****), it has been spotted and fixed for retail release.

At least once a game if i run Man - Press Coverage with 2 deep safetys, the CPU WR on the left side will blast past my CB (ok thats fine, some WR are too fast and physical to be held up too long), but then they are all by themselves with no safteys in sight?

Maybe being a Brit and only knowing about 70% of NFL plays etc maybe this is my error, but im sure at least one of the safteys would spot this and go over to cover and not be standing with the LB's as the throw comes over.

This happens to me aswell, I was thinking it was just that good of a WR but I believe it is an issue as it happens like once a game when the CPU no huddles.

I've only had a quarter worth of game time in, but it looks like it's heading in the direction Madden 09 should have went. Is this a contract year or something? Lots of improvements..Not sure if they will get my $60, though..

So ya, just finished playing two "full" games with the two different sets of teams the demo offers on All-Pro and here's my take:

Pros:
- The much-hyped tackling engine is solid and enjoyable to watch
- Graphics are slightly better; animations are decent step up as well

Cons:
- Psychic CBs/Ss are definitely back and in full force; for some reason, EA Sports thinks that only b/c they slightly fixed the LBs' crazy interception problems of last year, that will make the passing system more legit...its not.
- Meanwhile, the CPU passing is still frustratingly broken by a large margin; if I were to throw a 30-yd out to a WR in double-coverage, there would be no chance of a catch; however, somehow Alex Smith (an average QB by any stretch) is able to complete a perfect spiral under pressure to Moss who is double-covered and in traffic for a 21-yd completion to pick up a 1st-down. Really Madden? You honestly think this can EVER happen in reality? Great "simulation"...
- The game returns its ridiculous feature that prevents one from getting too big of a lead if the teams are evenly matched overall; like in the example above, I was playing as the 89 overall Giants against the 90 overall 49ers and was leading by 10; faced with a 3rd down and 5 minutes left in the game, Smith throws that impossible pass to Moss, followed by a 41 yd completion to Crabtree who somehow manages to get by his CB, a LB and the S to get wide open for the completion. All of a sudden I'm up 3 and decide to run the ball to push the time down...and who would have guessed it...a fumble. The 49ers convert it to 3 points and then I need to pull all the stops on my next possession to hammer 3 points with the time expiring. Again: really Madden? I've been playing pretty all game and in the span of 2 minutes, everything goes horribly wrong just b/c you didn't like how big of a lead I had against a team who's supposedly "better" by one overall point? Ridiculous...
- Commentating was awful and inaccurate as always
- CPU's defense is somehow magically able to predict which side I'm going to run to and reorganize their blitz patterns when I pick a run play 99% of the time.

Overall: another failed attempt by EA Sports. I honestly can't wait for 2K to be able to start making football games again not b/c I think their better or anything...but b/c the competition it will give EA motivation to actually start making better IN-GAME improvements, rather than just the yearly lazy graphics/roster/1-2 new feature(s) update that's occurring now.

In conclusion: I've fallen for cranking out my hard-earned $60 for their lazy games the last two years, but this is just ridiculous. EA Sports will not be getting it this year and from here onward until significant IN-GAME improvements are made and the word "simulation" can be used justifiably again.
