Quick impressions on a few quirks, through about 7 full games

-CPU player got hurt on the sidelines. And for about 10 seconds, the camera just stayed there.. Then it seemed like the play clock sped itself up, and DELAY of GAME on the offense

-Regarding injuries- Where can I see the status of the injury in the game menu. Santana Moss got level (great animation). But all I could see next to his name in the game stat screen was that little snake medicine logo, nothing else

-Penalties- CPU threw an interception.. Seconds before that was a flag.. After I ran it back a few yards, I saw that it was offensive holding. I knew a decline in the penalty would be my ball. But the graphics on the screen did not indicate that at all.. It was way too vague with nothing to show who's ball it would be if it was accepted or declined

-I turned game flow on for the play calling to be almost automatic. At this point in time, I just wanted to get snaps in and play.. Anyways.. It's 17-17 in the 4th as I make a drive down field. With about 10 seconds left, I have one timeout... The automatic GAMEPLAN playcall was not showing a FG.. It was only a 40 yd attempt. But it seemed like the game didn't even know the circumstances surrounding the moment.. I had to call my own play... I believe if it's happening in this situation where the CPU is calling something for me, that it would be the same on the CPUs end calling its own play.. So if you're wondering why the CPU has terrible late game AI, I spotted it first hand with the game flow.

I'm tired of hoping and wishing but we won't see any major changes to tackling, blocking, or running animations until PS4/XBOX 720. 7 years in with these consoles and I'm very underwhelmed on the product we have as of today.

Let's hope Cam Webner and the other devs/coders build a solid foundation with PS4/XBOX 720 hardware. This generation started off horrible in terms of engines with David Ortiz at the helms.

Oh well...I can only hope the Next Generation of consoles warrants a better product.

You have to play on a slower game speed so that the animations play out better and dont look so herky jerky.

after 1 quick PS3 game.

The graphics have looked like they have taken a slight bump down.
I didn't like on commentary they kept saying "After 15 minutes of play" "45 minutes left in the game" etc. The game was only on 5 minute quarters and in retail I will probably use 8 minute quarters. I wished they would have synced those up, but maybe they will on retail.

The new engine didn't seem too noticeable but when it appeared it really was noticeable.

The crowd was better than previous versions (noise wise, not graphics).

I won 21-3 with the Redskins. It was 7-3 going into the 4th but had 2 pick sixes to close the game out on just pro, default sliders. Didn't change anything yet.

I'm glad punted balls bounce rather than look like a line-drive every time now.

Also, sliders are going to look really interesting in Madden 13. The slideritus will be strong in this forum.

If they up the graphics, tone down the engine, and fix the camera, it would jump the games overall feel leaps and bounds.

Alright, EA. My interest is somewhat piqued. I just threw a pass to Cruz. Dude tackled him but he twisted underneath and though he went down on his butt he was on top of the other guy's chest. I thought the play was over by they hit me again and got me on the ground.

Never thought I'd see something like that occur.

wow. what an underwhelming experience. i was looking for a revelation in game play. it's the same old garbage. if you're someone who thinksmadden has been ok, i suppose you can enjoy this updated version with a small infinity engine influence. If you, like me, were looking for a giant leap forward in the feel of the game, you're outta luck.

Oh, and it looks awful. Shadows are terrible. Just a dated graphics apperance. So boring.

I've been beat deep plenty of times by the CPU yet have maybe beat them deep once.

This is some of the funniest animations EVER! Frank Gore was standing up after the play the lineman next to him fell to one knee like he had been shot! Gang Tackles are cool, but why is it whenever there are more than two people on a tackle everyone lays on top of each other as if they collapsed from the best sex they ever had? I swear I saw someone smoking a cig. I saw one player look like he received the stone cold stunner. Another one look like he was belly flopping into the kiddy pool. I don't know how i feel about this right now, but I am thoroughly entertained.

I play on very slow, and they still look horrible.

this is THE best madden i have ever played and i have only played 2 5min games from a DEMO

graphics are beyond gorgeous and the player accually look like football players without editing them too..ehhhmm NCAA football series

it is so fun to bulldoze smaller DBs with my tightend OR get bulldozed myslef by a cpu player..it just feels right for once

some tackles dont look right but the amount of tackles and animations that DO LOOK right FAR OUTWEIGH the latter...momentum is back

uniform degredation is inmone word AWESOME ..even saw paint from the field on Golden Tates shoulder after he was broght down in the logo at midfield (yellow paint)...just great

i hope there are closer camera views to play from to show off the true beauty of this game

the only bad thing i saw was the Robert Turbin needs to have dreads and he needs to have a much darker skin complexion....IM PUMPED!!! COME ON' August 24th (season ticket)

By far best madden to date but that's not saying much. Yes the physics are wonky at times but anyone who really likes canned animations over this should just go back to tecmo. Im confused as to why EA didnt use Euphoria tho since tha
ts come a long long way.

# 595 jersez @ 08/14/12 08:22 PM
last couple of games I'm seeing some super lb picks. I don't know if It's me because I'm throwing medium touch throws. It's hard trying to throw over the top of the defender.

My take so far is: It's a good game for what it is worth, which is not the full retail price they are going to ask for. Its Madden for sure, with the same animation injected with a physics engine which is what they said it would be and it has it's flaws. It's year one and I know that and EA even said as much and I think it plays solid and hell if anything else I get a good laugh at times and the engine doesn't wreck the game. I am far and away happier with this than I am with the glitch filled Ncaa game this year. Lighting is good except for the Seahawks jerseys being to dark on PS3. Passing is familiar since its came out in Ncaa and works well in my opinion. Running game works well if even the RB running into someone and being flung sideways or backwards occasionally happens which it does it's still year one with Cam and Co. I agree with some of the other posters when they talk about how we have people complaining about having the engine and stuff when its what they asked for , it's something new that is not a gimmick and it will be kept and improved upon. The game has it's problems and I will get frustrated, but it's different and not in a bad way it's just a new Mtn to climb for Cam and Co to get right. But atleast they are showing some effort,But as I said before it is not a "full retail price" worthy game at this point.

(Co-sign)The camera is pushed way to far to see any kind of graphical improvements.Im starting to think those tourney guys are influences the camera angle being pushed so far out.

Dude....I think you just basically set yourself up for failure. This is YEAR ONE of the infinity engine, of course it wasn't going to be perfect. There are going to be things you have to iron out. Frankly, I was pretty much impressed with it.

In my opinion, this is hands down the best Madden gameplay ever. The commentary was 100 times better than any previous Madden (as was the entire presentation) and the crowd was simply amazing. Right now, I'd rate the game at 8 or 8.5 out of 10, but it might get better once I get my hands on the CCM. Madden is starting to get it right.

The reference to "the toy" had me laughing uncontrollably! What a great flashback to a classic movie!

I agree, the engine will at least hold my interest to continue playing madden through the real NFL season.

Shadows are way too strong on players when they aren't facing the sun. playing skins vs seahawks and I'm having problems figuring out what team players are on.
