I cant wait for the real info to start dropping soon.

" NBA 2K13 will represent all things basketball and take virtual hardwood to the next level. Featuring an enhanced My Player mode and all-new gameplay features, NBA 2K13 will let gamers pit the best players in NBA history against the new dynasty of talent." - from the overview of the 2k website.

I wonder what the "all-new" gameplay features are and what was enhanced in MP.

Not sounding good for the Association mode players...

You shoudn't start wondering tbh. Just wait & see & most likely laugh.

Ok 2k shouldn't have called this the biggest announcement ever in their history (unless it had contained an exclusive soundtrack composed of the songs off of Carter's next album), but if they could allow you to give Jay-Z and Beyonce a high five after hitting a three in the finals for the nets during my player mode, now that would be pretty cool.

Needed to get those gifs out of my system haha. Now I don't really have a problem with this, I like the soundtrack they've got, but it's marketing this as the biggest announcement in your company's history that' pissing me off. Is this maybe the best soundtrack you've ever had in the game?Yeah maybe. But is this the biggest announcement made in your company's history? To some maybe, but to most (and I mean even "casual" fans) most likely not. Putting Jordan in the game proved how much you could get some new fans into the game (older fans that grew up watching Jordan). Is there really anyone that isn't playing 2K that hasn't heard or is a fan of Jay-Z's music?

In terms of 2K this is huge ... more fans will flock because of Jay-Z's name alone. Just like when they announced MJ, this is gonna sell like a multi-platinum CD....Watch! With that being said I foresee even more online issues ahead. As far as the soundtrack if your a true JayZ fan you gotta be a little let down, I would've love to see more stuff from the roc-a-fella era but hey that could be licensing issues there wit the split, plus his picks outside of himself aren't great imo. No worries I always turn off in game music neway and listen to my own music. The only soundtracks I really liked was Live 03 and CH2K8, CHoops had J-Dilla on that joint good memories! Let's wait for the real gameplay announcements.

I do hope association is improved. More depth is needed, sign-and-trades, better trade/proposed trade logic, teams realizing their needs in drafts/FA. But, I am not surprised that MP will be enhanced. It is their most popular mode. My main gripes with it were draft glitch, teammate AI, poor team management, playcalling, and more depth. Out side of that, anything more added is a bonus.

I just hope the gameplay improvements are the ones we have been griping about. Gameplay is the most important thing to me. Playing MP shows the flaws in gameplay at the default settings. In Association/Quick Play, you can cover with sliders. But, you cant in MP.

Not to mention, we'll need the new CBA. Hopefully a better progression system will be in place as well. Too many players progress too well.

A lot of good songs on the soundtrack but I already have them on my computer. So this announcement means nothing to me.

Can we get some gameplay videos or at least an acknowledgement that Crews and MyPlayer pick up games are back?

That is a major thing I forgot to put in for both Association/MP. It is a reason I dont play NBA 2k much lately. I dont like seeing players who barely produce eventually become stars. There are players who come out of nowhere, but most likely because of coaches/playstyle. I also hope they improve their draft classes. Outside of top 12-15, none of the players can contribute anything to a team

I dont mind potential, I think it should be there. But, I dont think it should be the major deciding factor of progression. I hated seeing players who never put up more than 10 pts(or other important stats) become 80+ stars because of potential. I think potential should just be there for scouting. I think production should be the major deciding factor in progression.

Omg! NO FANS ARE GOING TO FLOCK BECAUSE OF THIS! I have about 6 people that I know that bought 2k11 because MJ was on the cover (they didn't buy 2k12 for whatever reason but probably because they are casual fans). I decided to call all 6 of them to see if they will buy 2k13 because Jay-z has some tracks on there, and I named them. All 6 were like "those aren't new tracks?" And I go yea but Jay-z is putting his name to 2k and might be doing other music stuff within the game. Again all 6 "so?".

Like I think 2k (and a few of you on these boards) do not understand what casual fans are looking for. If this was guitar hero and you said you can play Jay'z songs than you would get way more causal fans waiting for that. But this is basketball ladies and gentleman. This isn't a music game. That is why 2k11 sold because you had a BASKETBALL PLAYER, the GOAT, on the cover and playable in game. This isn't biggest announcement in 2k HISTORY (a little thing called 2k5 selling for 20 bucks instead of 50 might take that cake, or mj on the cover of 2k11, or mlb 3rd party rights, or first ever 2k football game). This is an announcement, be it a big announcement for 2k (that for some reason people seem to think we all hate it. I'm not mad at it at all). But this is no where near biggest in 2k HISTORY.............. that is the point..........

There are a ton of casual fans loving this on Twitter.....

Hmmm now I'm wondering why didn't he produce any exclusive music for 2k13, maybe that would've held more interest to some. Jay can write a 16 quick I'm sure, knock out about 5 songs and sell it as bonus music cd with it. Now where thinking marketing Dept!!

Like others have said we have these songs already just seems like they paid him for his name at this point. LD2K been my boy since he was making laker mixes back in the day, so I'ma roll with him and wait and see. I just really hope Jay actively plays the game and can improve other areas or atleast give good feedback.

Yeah I thought we would see at least 2-3 brand new songs for the soundtrack.

It did say he called them up at night giving them his ideals for the game. He seems like a good business man. I am sure he doesnt just want his name on the game to sell it more. He will give his input and ideals for the game. It is like making a investment in something. You just dont want to put money into something, unless you know can get some enjoyment out of it

I'm a little disappointed that the announcement isn't something better but this has to be the best soundtrack that I have seen in a sports game ever. Jay Z, Nas, Biggie, Kanye, Mobb Deep, and throw in Daft Punk all on the same soundtrack people may hate it but I'm feelin this.

# 219 mlp111 @ 08/01/12 02:32 AM
this announcement doesnt benefit me at all, i dont even listen to the music in 2k, i alway cut the music sliders to zero........

Big names means big news nowadays. Liked the news, but it was over hyped. Underwhelming to say the least.
