Finally played a full game of Heisman mode to go with a regular game. First think that hit me was how fast the game plays. It has been stated I won't go over it a bunch.

Passing is a double edge sword. The controls are awesome, but it seems to easy. Went 15/22 353 yards 4 TD against Alabama. Obviously there are difficulty levels. Something to keep and eye on.

DTs are still where the majority of the pressure comes from. EA says they tweaked, OL play but I still saw OL standing around while I generate pressure vs the CPU using 9 velcro.

OMFG They are now calling illegal contact!!! That is great, espcecially when DBs ignore WRs who run OOB

I love the passing icons lighting up. Had a WR running a deep dig route, he beat man coverage and as we all know in years past that was an easy completion, well not anymore. I went to throw the ball and the WR never saw it so while the DB was FS was breaking on the ball my WR was running his route. This is such a great addition kudos EA!

User controlled players are still too good. You can go sideline to sideline with any FS/SS. Any MLB can fill the running lane if the user knows what he is doing. Usering a DT is a good way to generate pressure constantly. Only position where the user isn't too good is DE.

Game was a lot of fun. I was really upset at the lack of physics in the game, but I can't deny that I had fun with the demo. Saw a bunch of new animations. (Maybe the were not new IDK, I bailed in 12 after the patch broke the no huddle, so I can't really remember)

Yeah at time it felt like 12 but, again the demo was fun. I would like to see EA completly scrap their current blocking system going forward but this isn't the place for that. One of the better demo's from them IMO.

Heisman Mode: It did nothing to change my opinion on it. It is RTG with past heisman winners. I could make anyone I wanted and do that. Ron Dayne, Peter Warrick and basically to what they did to a degree. So, the demo did nothing to change my mind about the mode. Seems like when I used reaction time in the open field I was always able to break a tackle.

I look forward to trying the full game out with my season pass, I may have changed my mind on skipping this title, maybe.

Im not really having a hard time passing at all. Im putting up like 4 td's a game. Has anyone seen any cool catch animations though? Has anyone done any back shoulder passes? If so, how do you do them.

Anyone have any idea how old this build is?

Was surprised how much I love the demo. I've been playing Madden 12 a lot lately, and I was amazed at how much better NCAA 13 felt. I also saw a bunch of new catch animations. Had a sweet playaction left, roll out to the right and lobbed a pass in to my TE for a touchdown over a safety that was watching the WR on a crossing route. Felt so good! It definitely became a must buy for me. Glad Amazon still has their $45 preorder price!

Seems like it's a cheap way for them to make up for the more offensive oriented changes to the game. LSU RB got ran down quickly in open field by a DE.
yeah when a fast guy gets to the outside he should NEVER get pulled down from behind by anyone else than a corner or safety.. cpu players are always faster untill (strangely) your in wide open field

To all the guys that are having to take long to DL the demo, I am on PS3 and downloaded it in about 45 minutes. It is 3 GBs on a busy server. Is it taking longer than that? I do have top notch cable internet.

I have been buying this game for as long as I know, and with each and ever year in college football there are new plays and new ways to shred defenses and stop offenses. WHY havent simple concepts been implemented yet? Im a spread option guy, I coach football & I regularly use this game to create gameplans

Oregon & Other Spread teams run the inside and outside zone in EVERY FORMATION why hasn't that been placed in this game as of yet?

Spread Teams use triple option in many (Run Options and Run/Pass Options) so why hasnt the Read Option Bubble been placed in the game yet EA's team of experts. goes to many games to get crowd sounds but cant combine the inside zone and the bubble screen together yet and real college team has been using that since Rich Rod was at WVU back in 05 its 2012 and I still havent seen it yet.

Cam Newton, Taylor Martinez, Andy Dalton, RGIII & Other Schools have made a killing defenses with the Inverted Veer Play and that has been used by colleges since 2010 ( I defenitely been waiting on that play )

I like what has been done with this years game as far as I can see but all Im saying is this if your motto is "IF ITS IN THE GAME, ITS IN THE GAME" deliver on your statement and stop giving loyal gamers like a souped up NCAA 2010, The playbooks need a major boost to go with the standards that real colleges are doing now.

I'm in an older neighborhood (can't get ESPN3 on my 360 b/c we don't have the bandwidth capabilities), so I only have DSL.

Edit: 95% now, so looking like a 7-hour download. Yikes. Again, when I downloaded off of the 360, it took maybe 2-3 hours. The first-day downloads always seem to take FOREVER on my PS3.

Playbooks looked identical to 2012, which as you stated, is not a good thing.

The gameplay is pretty good. But why the helmets look so bad. The oregon vs usc game looks good. I was really happy about. But after i played the Alabama vs Lsu game, I realized this game still has bad graphic!!!! Gameplay graphic is ridiculous, especially the night game!!!!!!! Come on EA!!

alabama looked good at the beginning, but when it got later, the jersey got way too dark again to a maroonish type color..

Some observations as I go. In no real order, just have this open and typing things as I notice them

- Already sick of Rece Davis. Same game got a studio update on back to back plays and somehow covered 6 minutes. I'm sure they'll be spread out more in a full game, but it was just so stale.

- Motion blur in replays and cut scenes has to stop. My QB was standing up and it was like watching Neo dodge bullets.

- Read option is a lot better, but I'm more concerned about the read option out of Pistol than I am Shotgun. I'm playing as KSU right now so I'll address this later. Read in the gun almost seemed too easy, I broke off two HUGE runs with Klein and the DE never once stayed home.

- QB Blast is a LOT faster out of the shoot for the QB, unfortunately, still not very well blocked.

- CPU defense still calls some flat out ridiculous defensive plays. I got Engage 8 on 3rd and long and completed an easy first down pass.

- Kickoff return holes were HUGE.

- Absolutely LOVE the new white text with black outline, makes it easier to pick out.

- Presentation is dull as ever. Could be because this is Baylor, but it is dead in here.

- Didn't see any new plays. Only one playbook though. If there aren't playbook changes, I'll be sick.

- CPU defenders run like they were shot out of a cannon, especially in pursuit on run plays off the edge. DT's and DE's FLEW after me and linebackers shot the gap and ran me down almost every time. Surprising given Baylor's bad defense and the game play level.

- CPU passing is atrocious. Again, could be ratings on the Baylor QB, could be gameplay level. But I ran straight man to man for an entire drive and they completed 1 pass before getting picked off on an out route floated into no mans land. The player who picked it off had his back to the play and was man to man on a different receiver at the time. Next drive, two drops including one on a HB screen ruined the drive.

- Human passing is insanely easy. I could throw into traffic on the run to a crossing WR and no one would attempt to make a play. Sidenote though, I love the auto-rollout on Z Spot. I used to have to do that manually. My favorite pass play in NCAA 12 was QB Sprintout in Ace Y Trips because it was just an easy boot and throw to the flat or curl.

- Visually, looks just like NCAA 12. One difference is depth perception. For whatever reason, there seems to be a weird depth perception issue when you look down the field from one end to the other. It is almost like a fisheye lens effect. I just feel like there is distortion. I haven't played in Baylor's stadium much at all in recent years games, I'll check out the others eventually but wanted to run spread option for a while with KSU. Graphics are sub-standard all around though.

- There are a lot of flickers in the stands as well. A little distracting, but not horrible. Probably just incomplete art.

- QB Wrap worked well, but like Read Option, I am breaking off 15 yard runs every play.

- They MUST re-map the buttons to the same configuration they are before. L2 not being pitch is just trippy. That is EA's "if it ain't broke, let's completely shatter it" mindset at work.

I'll keep going and eventually compile this into a more organized breakdown after I take a break and play a few more times with other teams.

Game looks like absolute crap on the PS3...again. I was really hoping they would have fixed the jaggies all over the place from last year (gameplay not cutscenes) but they're all over the place again. Gameplay graphics took a step back from 11 to 12, and now from 12 to 13 on the PS3. The anti-aliasing is just terrible, I'm sure it looks great on the 360. Looks absolutely horrid on the PS3 though. Lighting at night is still screwed up and I bet it has the same green filter for rain games. Gameplay didn't feel very fluid, felt more like NCAA 10. Commentary is pretty much the same, while the studio updates are neat, all that talk about the audio technology from Fifa was crap - the commentary in the updates does not flow at all. Got picked of by a super lb in the 4th quarter of Bama vs LSU.

I hate to be all negative, I really wanted it to be good, but I can't stand this. It's a piece of crap. They've done a half-*** job again. I've bought NCAA every year since 03, not happening this year.

I was not very impressed with the demo. The cons far outweighed the pros.

Pros:
- Incredible presentation elements. From the ticker, to the updates with Reece, and the intros, it's an overall great package!

- The game felt very fluid. Both the passing and running game felt fun to play.

- CPU QB's react incredibly well to their surroundings. They are definitely not afraid to take off on you.

- All the animations looked great and I didn't see anything out of place.

Cons:
- The PS3 code is one word: atrocious. Every replay and pre snap/post snap had either slow down or stuttering. It's completely unacceptable this late in the console gen. I wouldn't say it makes the game unplayable but it's certainly noticeable and annoying!

- The graphics were terrible as well. Although jaggies are unique to the PS3 everything else seemed really low res. The 3D grass looked painted on and pixelated, the crowd was completely pixelated, and the replays looked so blurry that I might need new glasses.

- CPU play calling intelligence is non existent. Down by 3 with a minute left they called several passes up the middle rather than the sideline. They also called a poor RB screen up the middle with little time left. They also completely mismanaged their timeouts.

- Saw psychic defenders again. Threw a pass to my receivers back shoulder and the DB did a 360 spin from one shoulder to the other, turning his back to the ball and still managed to pick it off. It was a head scratcher for sure.

Bottom line:

It's just a demo, not the final product. None of the nit picky issues really bother me all that much in regards to AI and such. However I cannot, and neither should any other PS3 users, be content with the terrible graphics and performance issues. We'll see how the final product is but I might cancel my preorder and rent the game to check on the resolution of those issues.

Once again, it's only a demo so the code isn't final. But I also don't trust EA given their track record so I'm very weary about this game.

I can't wait until the CPU crosses the 50 in one of these games so I can try. I've shut out Baylor 3 times, haven't crossed the 50 once.

Played first game on PS3 after it FINALLY downloaded.

LSU vs. Bama. I'm LSU. I won 16-0, which makes sense with those 2 teams, 3 field goals and a TD. I dominated running it, liked the running style better, passing was ok, I like it, I did ok with it but will get better.

Bama did nothing on offense...just pathetic. I know all of this was on varsity and it showed I suppose. I never was threatened...do not even think they crossed midfield once. That said, 3 minute quarters...varsity, so understandable.

I played RGIII on USC in the Heisman Challenge. It was an interesting arcade type mode...I somehow lost the game though in OT because my stupid defense gave up 50 points in OT to Oregon, and if not for 2 TD's and 2 2 point conversions by me in the last 2 minutes we would have not even got to OT. I like that I can audible....do no huddle...and save the 20 change plays. I am guessing we are stuck with 5 minute quarters in that mode...or maybe not but I guess that is ok since it is sooo easy. But once again on Varsity. I think playing WR would be tougher though, RB would be ok...QB will be easy regardless I think.

Im using K. State too. Number 30 off the edge has decent speed.

Side note. Im getting WAYYY to many Studio Updates. I just got 4 of them in the 2nd quarter about the TCU vs WVU game.

I am just owning with KSU and especially Klein. I'm not sure I've thrown an incomplete pass once with him and I run all over the place in their offense. Defense seems pretty quick as well.

Going to take a break from them and see what more traditional teams feel like.
