What Does MLB 13 The Show Need to do Next Year to Satisfy Your Baseball Gaming Needs?

With the MLB 2K series all but confirmed to be dead, Kotaku's Owen Good has posted an article on what MLB 13 The Show must do to keep the fans of baseball gaming happy. It should be interesting, considering a simulation baseball game for the 360 doesn't look very likely.

	Your long slog through your career in Road to the Show makes the game's threadbare commentary painfully apparent. I think the world of Matt Vasgersian but he is shackled to an outdated commentary engine given to repetition and dead air. Dave Campbell's dialogue library is really showing its age, and a majority of his work sounds like Dave Campbell playing Dave Campbell. Eric Karros should be thanked for his service and sent home. The Show has world class visuals and a smooth, if minimalist, broadcast presentation. The commentary supporting it has not pulled its weight in years.

Would like to see less dropped third strikes and a lot less pitchers who field like Brooks Robinson.

I think PYS has that license.
Also...paying for parks is not something that is on the agenda as far as I can see.

100% agree with the drop third strikes there are way too many in MLB 12 The Show!

Hopfully this will be cut down to more realistic levels in 13.

Hey MK, why wouldnt sony add some DLC for something like downloadable stadiums? Wouldnt that be a win/win for everybody? I would pay a small amount to be able to play at Ebbets Field...which is never in the game. Or some of the old cookie cutter stadiums for our past?

Funny you bring up Ebbet's.

$500,000.00

Yep...they want 1/2 million dollars for the rights to that stadium.
Even if you agreed to pay a GREAT amount it would not work for them.
They took a bath on the historical stadiums they put in that one year(I think they are still blaming me for hounding them on that one.

)

Maybe one day....who knows?

The Show is the only game I will buy year in and year out, regardless.

Reduce ground-rule doubles. Far too many. I probably hit 1-2 per game.

Revamp the home run distances. I did a test of 100 home runs hit and the result had the same distances on over 30% of all HR hit. Not a major thing, but when balls are absoltely no doubters and the distance comes up 379 ft its got me scratching my head.

Franchise Mode - The Draft!!!!

Allow us the ability to fully edit every pick for realism and dont base the new picks contingent upon players retiring at seasons end.

Gameplay - Fielding!

The second baseman runs to his left or right on a fieldable ball to only stop it and overrun the ball.

The lack of urgency on certain fielding plays that require IF'ers to act quickly. I dont know how many times a chopper gets fielded by the pitcher out in front of the catcher and he takes a couple steps to make the throw and the throw doesnt have any pepper on it.

More realistic OF throws. Too many bounced throws to cutoff men and unrealistic distances.

Get rid of the frequency of off-line throws to the plate.

Revamp the aggressiveness on OF throws similar to real baseball.

Get rid of the "suck in" animations while fielding. Balls that a fielder attempts to catch while being "sucked in' bounce over their heads far too often.

Balls hit down the line die before they get to the wall. The ball physics need a little more refining.

Alter the pitch movements. make curveballs snap, make cutters cut more, make change-ups fall off the table, etc.

Finally bro. Been a long year and I have about had it with the front office! Cant believe we did what we did!!! Wil Myers, Odorizzi and Mongomery! Put in a request to be released last week! Pitt offered me a position, but its hard to move up in this business!

The Futures Game -

If I see Boof Bonser and Paul McAnulty one more time on the roster I will flip!!!!

Offer a more intuitive AI on the selection of the players in the Futures Game. Possibly have it contingent upon the ratings we give coupled with the potential grades we adapt in OSFM.

Franchise Mode/Roster Management -

Is it possible to acquire the Baseball America prospect rankings like MVP 05? That would bring a great feel to the organizations prospect rankings.

Organizational prospect rankings!!! Allow us to individually rank our prospects for each team. This would essentially show the players what the organization thinks of them and use it to allow players advancement.
