Another MLB 12 The Show game update arrived this morning, bring it up to version 1.16. Check below for the details and let us know what you are seeing.
  • Schedules and box score were misaligned for a portion of the games for certain teams.
  • Occasionally when loading into online games, an empty field (home plate view) would be shown and user has to PS button out.
  • Analog bunting interface, versus a behind the pitcher view in online games would cause a frequent freeze when the user on offense bunted.

That's really all I'm saying. It's one thing to not know how a medicine will affect each and every person. But if they would have told us what was in the medicine, I could have figured that out for myself.
If they did tell us it may mess up existing RTTS then they need to find a quick solution to credit people money spent on RTTS or give us a code to redownload the amount of points we bought once we start a new RTTS.

yeah AC, it sounds like a horror story thats all your fault, you must of interrupted the patch while downloading, there's no way it could just be a crappy patch, user error is a must in this situation, never the patch, anyways, i am done with this years game, ughhh, i really dont wanna get rid of it but i refuse to download the patch and i'm not gonna have the download prompt pop up every 2 min, i'm going back to 11', at least it is playable, o well about the rosters and stuff, 12' is a very flawed game from no new playoff system to no options for moving teams around divisions, the ball bounces WAY TO HIGH, the ai on fielder depth is garbage, can't play online unless you download the patch, and even when you play online its a lag fest, (i have the best highspeed service you can get) so, i will wait till next year and hope they fix the long list of crap i just went on about or maybe i just need to rant, who really knows

When the schedule comes up after player next appearance, and schedule when you try to advance to next day.

It was the reason I bought a vita as well. I haven't even turned my vita on since 1.06 dropped.

IT'S SUNDAY!!! Play a different game for a day or so, or do your math homework for a change.

They probably didn't even know the patch was gonna come out on Saturday. They probably expected it to come out on Tuesday, which is normal i believe.

Give them a chance to get back to work before expecting them to answer or to even figure out what went wrong.

Or if you really must, have a nervous breakdown and swear off video games for ever!

Sorry if I've offended anybody, but guys calm down and give it TIME. At least let them get back to work before burning them at the stake!

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I just finished game number 2 on my season via cloud save. Checked schedules again, box scores, everything is great. The ultimate test however comes when I send it back to my PS3 and attempt to continue. Fingers Crossed.

I started a 30 team franchise post patch 1.06. I am in early April. Will I be okay to download the 1.16 patch, or will I get the freezes and the Braves/A's extra game losses glitch?

You will be fine. I started my franchise after patch 1.06 and dowloaded patch 1.16 and played 3 games so far on my ps3 without any issues. I think the people having issues are those playing RTTS. I say go for it.

Actually, it had finished downloading. It froze after the download.

I have not had any issues with freezing but the standings problem is out of control. I just finished my first year in my franchise and the Tigers are missing out on the playoffs with 113 wins while the Mariners have locked up the AL Wild Card with 70 wins over the 91 win Red Sox. I hope this is addressed soon because it is a complete mess not having the best teams make the playoffs.

oh boy, thats not good. Thats the stuff I am afraid of. When exactly did you start your franchise? Was is before patch 1.06 or after?

I'm not 100% sure when 1.06 came out exactly but I started my franchise the Sunday after opening day so April 8. I see that some people say I can delete 1.16, will that fix my problem? Is so, how do I delete updates?

Just a couple of questions...

I downloaded the latest patch and my RTTS in the 1st year (Month of July) has now encountered freezing. I have multiple saves for that RTTS because I purchased training points. I have not checked to see if my file is corrupt because I've been away from my system..

But how do you delete the patch from your system? Also if I just loaded the old save and Save as new file instead of overwriting will that fix the the whole pre-patch files being updated by patch?

Im sure they know NOW that the patch has released. That doesn't mean that they were prepared to release a statement about it on FRIDAY when they left. They still need to figure out what's going on and IF and HOW they can address it.

You can delete the patch by Going to the the XMB and going to the the game data utility folder located in the same section where your game saves are located. You should see 2 files in that folder. The patch is titled "additional content" or something of that sorts. The game data utility is located under the game saves section of the XMB.

He is not logged in 24 hrs a day. As a matter of fact, he is rarely there and rarely responds. Its one of the main complaints about TSN is that the MODS and DEVs are rarely there and rarely respond.
So just the simple fact that he is there speaks volumes regardless what day of the week it is or is not.

Your statement that they probably didnt know, is absurd. It insinuates they are either clueless about their job or too inept to perform it properly.

You cannot honestly think they had no idea that the patch was being issued.
I know exactly what is going on at my job right now even though Im at home. Im quite certain they are aware unless the new guy or the janitor hit the wrong button Sat morning!


I think your last sentence of the original post is more accurate.

Yes, it will preserve your save files. It only deletes game data (patch and any custom sounds) and reverts the game to v1.01 - your saves (rosters, seasons, RTTS, etc.) will be unaffected. However, you will probably still get prompted to update if you are connected to the internet. If you do decide to update, chances are you won't experience the same issue again.

And I was not blaming you, as someone childishly insinuated. I was just stating that it sounds like the case, from past experiences, and deleting the data being the only way to rectify it.
