Didn't they say that a couple of years ago?

Madden 10 was the addition of Procedural Awareness, which Ian blogged on. In the blog he mentioned it was the first step in eliminating the psychic DBs. Unfortunately, it wasn't really acted on until now.

Will Bobby Petrino still be the head coach of Arkansas in the game or will they use the interim coach?

Not to be disrespectful but how should we believe this now? 3 years from now what will the line be? We had a system which had flaws but NOW! We truly have non psychic DB gameplay

So basically, "It's works... but not really". Got it.

I just hope the db heads don't just snap around unrealisticly

Say EA does completely eliminate psychic DBs it still will not matter because as soon as certain people on this forum throw their very first interception they will be on here whining.

These kind of comments make me wonder why developers even bother going on these forums. Instead of being happy that they are interacting with the forums you just go and make smart comments. You should be happy that they do come on the forums because they do not have to.

Well sorry, they kind of asked for it by putting out a crap product for the last few years. The bugs from last year are inexcusable.

Very intriguing, I've taken a year off of NCAA but this looks like it could be a buy again.

I'm not asking you to believe me. I don't even know how it's gonna turn out. I'm on Madden, haven't had a lot of time to play NCAA yet. I was only explaining what Ian said back in '10, nothing more. The feature was addressing people's complaints at the time about lack of head tracking... Ian threw in the other part, that they'd use the system to enhance AI later.

Just a messenger, nothing more. I didn't even work here then, I was just an OS member.

The only devs that come on this anymore are originally OS users... It's not like the NCAA team is on here asking us what little things they can fix, or taking a survey, or discussing how something doesn't look right, etc. They haven't been here forever because of the tough questions and criticism.

As far as my comment, it's definitely permitted. We have been told over and over something works when it doesn't - patches that will fix the broken, but wont - the new game is finally fixed, followed by another patch. After all that they laugh at how bad it was when they put out the next release.

I remember back when NCAA 11 was coming out we had Russ Kiniry on here asking for feedback, Jean Adams on here asking for feedback for player equipment. Then when 11 dropped they disappeared

the game is really shaping up to be a great one this year, as a guy who enjoys passing a lot all of this work on the passing game is going to make it much more enjoyable!!

You got your dreads -- I don't think you can ask for anything ever again

And... we love all the original OS members who have moved on to EA -- they know our intent -- we just want a game that resembles the fundamentals of the sport its representing.

People need to stop being star struck by developer interactions. They are regular people just like anybody else. Grant it some people go over the line and be rude just to be rude. However most of the time however it be legit questions being asked.

If you don't have thick skin and can't converse in a good civil debate of what works and what don't work in your product, then by all means just don't comment. What bothers me the most is when legit questions get asked and don't get answered, but let some kid ask about 3D grass, cleats, mouth guards or release dates, those type of questions get answered instead.

I wish some developers would come on here and tell it how it really is. Don't sugar coat it. Good number of us are older or the same age of these developers. We can handle the truth.

If something don't work, then just come out it and say:

Hey guys this feature was designed to work this way, however because of this bug or lines of code or whatever the case maybe, the end results didn't come out the way we intended it to be. This is what caused this problem.
Now I can live with a response like that. You know, just tell the truth, be straight up with people.

Oh how I wish a developer would come on here and write a long deep documentation of what all the ratings and sliders ACTUALLY do in the game. The scale of ratings that trigger certain animation triggers. The scale of ratings and sliders that trigger certain AI behaviors on the field.

And I mean what they REALLY do, not some dictionary definition of what the word mean. Because what the word means and what it ACTUALLY do in the game be two completely different things.

Maybe, just maybe........If they did that, we the consumers could HELP them make a BETTER game. Just a thought. Run it through your legal department and make it happen.

Just as quick and talkative you guys want to be when it comes to cover votes, team entrances and band locations, be talkative about game play, ratings, sliders, animation triggers. You know the real nuts and bolts of the game.

Yes, that makes sense - completely disregard your companies IP and give all your design specifications for free! I wonder why more business just don't go the route of open source!

The developers are here to interact when possible. If it frustrates you that you don't get a response your best bet is to contact the game company's support line. Having developer interaction here is a bonus and a privilege, not a right.

So, we should be ecstatic that someone from EA pops in for second with a twenty word response, yet avoids these boards like the plague for the 6 months following release? Got it.
