NCAA Football 13 News Post

For years, the NCAA Football series has sold well and enjoyed great reviews.

But this year, it feels like the tides of public opinion have shifted, and a series that once seemed immune to criticism is now subject to a growing wave of discontent. It doesn’t take more than 5 minutes in the OS forums to see that dedicated sports gamers have a whole laundry list of complaints and suggestions.

In this article, I discuss five things that the NCAA Football 13 team could do to restore gamers’ faith in the series.

Most of my complaints about the new games have already been covered in earlier posts, but EA still has a long way to go before I will be happy. Until then, Ncaa on the PS2 will do just fine.

classic....clipping is any unfortunate aspect of all video games...i just wish they would eliminate it in the secondary

1.)Crowd noise in tough stadiums need to get better.
2.)An Army and Under Armour high school all star game where the top recruits will play against each other in dynasty mode and road to glory.
3.)college gameday comes to campus for top ranks teams, tough conference game, and have have their opinions on who is going to win it.
4.)half time shows with updates on games that have been played, or is going on during your game.
5.)have the players walk threw to the stadiums, and show the coaches giving the players the "pep talk" in the locker rooms before they come out.

im pretty sure that i can speak for everyone one here that even though we are playing cpu, they shouldnt know when a screen is coming there way, or the reciever route before he cutes. and can we see quarterback throw the back shoulder throws, or the precise throwing where we can lead or throw where we want the reciver to catch it(high, low,in front, behind). it needs formation shifts with out changing the play and the ablity to motion more than one person one a play(it is legal to do). they need better hot routes so we can have post, flag, and deeper patters, etc. it showed alot of improvements from ncaa 11, but it needs alot of more work.

I swear on my life that in ONE Madden version and one version of NCAA, the plane of the "lead receiver" function was an X-axis, Z-axis, not X and Y, as it is now. Let's say I'm throwing to a receiver on a post route from the left side. When I hit up and to the right with the left stick, the ball is then high in the air and out to the right. It should be out in the front of the receiver. I hope people understand what I mean, i kno it sounds convoluted. They had it one year and then they got rid of it and I haven't been the same since.

I completely understand and that's the way it should be.

I couldn't agree more with plays not working and game physics... I often sub my top wide reciever into the slot position (#3 WR on depth chart) just because more passing routes are open for that player. Fade routes and deep out routes/posts almost always get intercepted or batted down by that annoying super linebacker. And Strength and size play no part in this game. You can literally put a 215lb LB at DE and he will be just as dominate if his attributes are high enough. It's just not realistic.

Presentation, Gameplay, and Customization, ESPN is the presentation, use ESPN more for this, Gameplay, Football engine can be more better, and to add TeamBuilder, Gameface!! I think this would be awesome

(Other awesome thing, 40 Create a School Slots to make 32 NFL Teams =)

i agree with everything this article is talking about especially the recruiting. i feel that the recruiting process needs to b alot more exciting.(just like the artiicle stated. bring back espn sportcenter where they talk about the prodictions for the upcoming season, the key players of season. i think they should also have a sportscenter session where they talk about the top recruits and where they sign. i think they should have it where you can not online recruit the upcoming seniors, but also the upcoming juniors and sophmores...i mean they did it with ncaa basketball so they should do it with football. like the article said they should have the players doing more in the pre- game like getting crunk and excited more exercises and stretching and warming up. and while they are doing all that lee corso and whoever else could be talkin about the game and giving predictions. make rivalry games feel like a rivalry game. add some pushing and shoving to the game. add more variety of gear like gloves, socks, underarmor shirts, arm bands, spats, more hair style (and not just designated for certain skin colors),ankle braces. put the under armor all- american game and the other all american game or at least mention it.. make bigger hits look and feel like big hits, have sime helments flying off every once in a while.

its alot of stuff you can do so lets get it done

o yea and ill be back with more ideas

What's the point of a UA/All-American All-Star game that will only involve roughly 5% of players in the database, when we already know their attributes and talents? This has always been sort of a meh to me. I don't understand why so many want it so badly.

Now, a Spring Game, that could allow coaches to play with their own teams to tinker with different packages and determine your teams identity in a sort of "Pre-Season", or some kind of Spring Camp, where drills could be used to make a player or certain skill positions better, sounds much more practical to me.

It brings it's own questions though. What would you user-play? The 1st and 2nd team offenses? Defenses? Could we divide the teams ourselves or would there be some sort of algorithm by which the CPU divided the teams for us?

I agree with you on the first part. I mean, if you are an Alabama or Auburn or a team like that, I can see the benefit. But if you are one of the majority of teams in the NCAA, the AA game does you no good because you aren't recruiting anyone in it. I don't have a problem with it being a part of things, I would just never use it. I'm like you Nate I don't see why so many want it for those reasons.

5 Things To Me That NCAA Football 13 Needs!

1. Celebration's after game/in Come'on NCAA it was fun in 11 bring it back
2. Bring back all the FCS school's teambuilders getting a bit annoying
3. Videos of recruits on campus video interviews with them etc
4. Mid season coach changes and conference invitations they had it in 10
5. Suspensions which would be great

Remember back in the older versions they had suspensions. You'd be able to suspend a player for lack of academics for half a game or a season? College football 13 needs that and the other 4 things I recomended. Yes I know that they took it out because it's a new rule in college but it's a video game not real life. Also having FCS school's is a lot better plus if you do OC or DC or HC in FCS imagine how much tougher it could be to get into the FBS. Tell me what you guys think. A spring game would also be nice to see put instead of having just practice mode and have something that enables you to upgrade the freshman before the season.

NCAA won't allow that anymore. It paints college football in a bad light.

Come on. Suspensions are supposed to make it tougher for the head coach. It's not like it'll be an AD suspension or HC it'll be on the player.

It still cast the entity of the ncaa in a bad light. They wont allow it back in.

It is ridiculous how Fifa has probably the most robust celebration system known to sports gaming, but the SAME company can't program 5 to 10 TD celebrations in a football game, even tho every weekend, we see players run into the endzone and do a little something. And I'm not talking about something obscene or disrespectful, but something like holding the triangle makes the player point to the crowd or put his hand to his ear like "I can't hear you". Simple stuff like that. I haven't seen the Gator chomp, they took out the "run to the mascot" celebration (even tho the loading screens SAY you can do it). Every year, the few good things in this game get removed and replaced by nonsense.

I mean, what, the NCAA has said "players telling the crowd to 'wave their hands in the air like they just don't care' isn't how we want college football in America to be portrayed"?

# 138 Sportsfan0290 @ 02/10/12 11:51 AM
It is a bit ridiculous. Oh and another good idea bring in classic stadiums. Or at least The U's. I can't be my hurricanes while playing in Pro Player oh I mean Land Shark stadium. Just not the same unlike the rest of the traditional team's that have their own stadiums.

How about letting us have up to 36+ user-controlled teams in an Online Dynasty? I never understood why 12 user-controlled teams was the max. To be able to completely fill 3 or more Conferences with HUMAN coaches and create custom scheduling would be incredible. It would add so much more life to an Online Dynasty rather than having to play the same 9+ guys in your Conference every season.

# 140 knighthawksfan @ 02/11/12 05:18 AM
Ea sports needs too just make ncaa football fun again like it use too be when we were smaller omg with the cpu so easy too beat the online dynasty mode needs a new tune up so does road too glory and please get rid of season showdown and team builder my goodness they are just taking up space on the disc. Put things in the game we want too see will offseason stuff and please put in the spring game holy cow. I would like too do that in the dynasty modes please thanks.
