I must suck at this game after being pretty good in 2K7, 2K8, 2K9, 2K10, and 2K11... I'm 0-10, not counting losing all of the Legends Showcase games .. smh
I really try to love this game but I just can't seem to do it. The patch did make the game better but maybe I just expect too much!
Davis,
I think just get rid of the game. I am a huge football fan and haven't had either football games in months now. If a game just doesn't suit you after the patches. Then just move on. Your likely to just be frustrated if you do not.
After spending some extensive time with the patch, I honestly cannot believe the placebo affect that was in place on this message board.
Even some of you people who were praising this patch as the second coming are starting to tone down your stances and see this game as still being somewhat flawed. I don't know what it is, but I cannot notice anything different in this patch from the game pre-patch.
You guys got the patch, and wanted it to be so great and make the game a 10/10 that you started seeing things you wanted to see to make it better.
In reality, this game has gone the way of EA Sports Football titles for me, I will no longer be purchasing them. It pains me to say as much, because I absolutely love basketball, and iv'e been a faithful 2K buyer since NBA 2K on the dreamcast.
Enough is enough though. The ridiculous CPU comeback A.I. People saying it was possible to get by defenders with faster players, when in reality, the CPU AI still mirrors your moves step for step. Constantly getting blocked by smaller players inside is still there. Not being able to run fast breaks because no matter who you pass it to the CPU gets a hand on the ball.
The CPU AI constant erratic movement on offense, doing nothing but trying to muscle their way inside the paint, the superhero comeback and contested shots. It's all still there.
Let's not talk about star big men never touching the ball, or when they do get the ball, never using their post moves. Just running around like idiots and passing the ball to some scrub, who WILL light your team up. Do superstars even matter in this game? Or is it back to the days of 2K11 where no matter how old or how much your skills have diminished, if you have a good 3 point shot, you'll score 26 a game and lead your team. Nevermind Dwight Howard for the Magic, you better watch out for Q-Rich, Hedo Turkoglu or some other low rated guy dropping 30 on you while D12 sits back with 8 points and a bunch of rebounds. Pathetic
How anyone could come on here and say those issues have genuinely been fixed is beyond me. Especially when myself and many others have continued to point them out still being there. I'm glad some of the rest of you are finally seeing it too.
This is a good game, and I want it to be great, but there are WAY too many glaring issues that keeps this game from staying in my Xbox for a long period of time.
Not to be rude Gosen but just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean they are sheep under placebo effect. Of course the game has flaws-never played one that was without them. I played 3 games against the Magic (1995) last night and the cpu was going to Shaq and he was playing like Shaq and not doing crazy isos and kicking it to scrubs all game. They also certainly toned down CPU offensive aggressiveness as they were not constantly trying to force themselves into the paint and they are much more patient on offense than pre-patch. Pre-patch I was constantly seeing all 5 cpu players speed up the court on almost every defensive rebound and try to cheese the paint like an online 2k cheeser vet. CPU is also missing jumpshots that they hardly ever missed before when contested pre-patch. They are also missing open shots at times. Pre-patch Nick Anderson and Dennis Scott were the 1995 equivalent of Westbrook/Durant-they were unrealistically dominant especially Scott. Nick dunking over everyone and hitting from everywhere. Dennis Scott was godly from 3 pre-patch and also had a plethora of post moves that would make MJ jealous using them all. Post patch they have come back to reality.
Passing is better than pre-patch(not great but better). Ball moves a tad faster and it actually goes where I want it to using directional passing. There are more fouls called on reach-ins as well. I also feel that I have more control over my player on both offense and defense. Lastly I had no problem taking people off the dribble with Starks or Anthony, against my man or when I forced a switch on P-N-R and had the speed advantage against a big. This is not to say I could get by my man every time but it felt fair to me. Believe it or not I also got doubled in the post when Pat got hot opening up looks for Harper on the perimeter.
As far as speed issues on fastbreaks, etc. that is still present. They come more to light when you play above all-star level as that is a way to keep the cpu competetive and give them an edge against the user. Sports a.i. (in all sports games except maybe driving games) have not advanced to the point where the cpu won't be given cheats to help them on higher levels. It sucks but that's the norm. 2k really needs to look at that for 2k13.
I think those of us who are aren't satisfied with 2K12 were spoiled by how fundamentally sound 2K11 was. To me, 2K12 plays more like a direct sequel to 2K10 than to 2K11.
This is simply not true. I played a game vs CPU last night (OKC vs ORL) and I smoked 'em, start-to-finish. No comeback AI, no silly 3rd QTR surge. Just a solid win. With Westbrook I consistently got past Nelson; No little guys blocking me; and had 14 Fast Break points. That makes your statement wrong.
I love the patch, thanks 2K!

There are some things nice about the patch but the two things I wanted addressed seem like the didn't get touched. Fast break an double teams in the post. I did a test game with orl. I posted Howard the whole game, he had 46 out of
50 points. No doubles ever came. This is a big part of the NBA an I can't believe it's not
in the game.
Yeah, they need to address it. I don't know if a roster update can fix the issue or if it would require another patch?
I think a way of checking is to try and play an online game. If you don't have it, then it will prompt you to download it.
Hopefully something confirms this.
Ha, thats true, I could just play a online game and check if I have it. Dont know why I didnt think of that. I guess its because I never play 2k online cause its full of cheesers and ruin the game for me. Thanks.

I agree bro I just two games back to back on CAL since the patch on HOF/Sim which was impossible since the patch. No more stupid runs where once the cpu takes the lead you can't recover. I had a big league to the Knicks lost it in 3rd Qt thought it was bout to go the insane run. However i was able to pull it together an win by 10+ points in 4th qtr. Game after that I won with a last second shot. Overall I like the patch
I've searched but 57 pages is a lot to navigate through so I have to know. Did they fix the association stat glitch? That's the only thing keeping me from buying the game right now.
had not played too much. But what i seem. Players movement are slow. Before the patch players speed was on 42. After the patch moment was too slow. so i moved to default 50 and seems good.
What i noted also after i made rosters update, played with the heat and when the starting lineups was introduced, the commentors said Eddie Curry his first game on the starting lineup, or something like that. I guess the added some sounds. Because i have never heard this type of thing when i move one player to another team. (Maybe I'm wrong)
i know that i´m little bit off the topic but can anybody tell me is there a way to know if your update is working from the usb except playing the game, because i dont play very often.my gameplay feels a little bit different but i´m really not sure.does the new update even work if you have an old dashboard?thanks!
I didn't notice if this happened before the patch or not. I started a new My Player career as a PG with the latest rosters. I get drafted 17th by the Knicks. I went through the roster and noticed Iman Shumpert was on the team, drafted 17th by the Knicks.
Seems kind of dumb to me that the game allows two players to be drafted with the same pick.
i find it weird that when the patch released on the ps3 there nothing but good things said out it,but once it hit the 360 people are unhappy? i mean i found the patch to working fine and im on the 360.yeah there some things they missed but its not a whole lot to be complaining about im starting to think some of you just suck
