The problem is, can they EVER come back if clutch isn't on?
I find it way easier with it off. The problem with it on is that CPU automatically makes tough shots with the hands in your face, no matter what you do, and you start going cold from the field.
I've beaten the Bulls by 23 with it off.
Just played a game against the Wizards with the Lakers, i was up by 25, i had clutch factor on without even knowing it, and the CPU was all like "It's time" started hitting everything from the field.
I find clutch factor better off. Overall, this patch was alright, it wasn't anything special, but it did balance out the game a bit better.
Problems with the game:
- CPU still does those ****ty *** pump fake moves, take that out.
- Some lay-ups can't be defended.
- Morphing
- Overpowered Rebounding.
- CPU scores a lot in the paint
Take those four things out of this game, and this game could be something special, but those four things are pretty annoying. It isn't game killing for me, but it's very annoying.
Good things about the patch:
- CPU doesn't wait until the shot clock is at 5 to take a shot. They move the ball around, look for a good shot. Basically, the CPU is more smarter. You see the CPU actually running their plays better, throwing ally oops.
- The passes. The passes are way better post patch, it's a bit overpowered, but it's not that overpowered.
- Because of the passes, pick and roll is a bit better. That's if the person setting the pick actually rolls.
- My player mode feels more smooth. No more bull**** CPU trading. Once you become the star, you actually tell the ownership what / who to trade..
- Association trading logic improved. You still get ONE goofy trade. Like the trade i saw yesterday, Nuggets traded NENE for Joe Johnson. Other than that, the trades make sense.
- When you defend your opponent, and you push him in the back court, you get a foul called on you.
Overall, i'll give this patch a 3/5
It isn't spectacular, but it did improve a lot of things. Made the game more enjoyable then it has been..though there is still a bit of problems with the game, hopefully the next patch can settle those.
The problem is that people say association is broken by the 3rd year because players start doing stupid things, stats are messed up, there is no double team, so I really don't know how people can seriously play this game as a simulation.
2k is a disgrace on so many levels.
And don't let me start about the fact that the game is never balanced. The community is actually doing their work...

If you don't like it, then why haven't you turned it in yet?

Because this is the only weapon we have:come here and complain(in a civil way, without offensive lenguage) about all the mistakes 2k made with this game.
That's exactly why I can't play this game right now. I just can't stand the force CPU shots and spinning layups to do over and over. why even have tendencies of the CPU pg's all play the same?
Its because the 2K Insider roster updates has all the pg's tendencies just alike. 2K really needs to fix the tendencies in this game, it would improve the game even more. Stuff like this and bigs doing crossover moves on the perimeter is a tendencies issue that 2K needs to address in the roster updates. Also the lack of aggresive star pg's sg's and sf's that drive to the lane and always spin or pass out of the shot. 2K has alot of players attack the basket tendency much lower than there pass out tendency.
Also I got a interesting question. I noticed after the patch my NBA Today screen is still displaying the matchups/schedule for what have beent the 82 game season, but I thought after the patch the NBA Today feature would update to the current post lock out schedule? Has anyone's NBA Today menu/screen shown the current/accurate scheduled games? Maybe it will update today since I think preseason games start today?
After really trying to get used to the little nuances this year's game has, I think I'm going back to 2k11. My biggest gripe is the lack of controller response when performing moves. I don't understand how or why the response time could be worse than last years game.
Not to bash anyone who enjoys it, I just feel like this was 3 steps forward, and 4 steps back this year.
When I play these videogames I expect them to be fun with modest difficulty but it should not be this frustrating to enjoy a videogame!
Alot I things are done right, but most of the issues are fundamental flaws that should be expected to work in any basketball game whether it be a "Sim" or arcade style.
Passing: I'm glad they tuned the lead passing, but how on earth did this game ship with slow floaty passes? You can't say it's user error when the devs tried to patch it. Passing should never need to be patched in a basketball video game period!
Physic CPU defense- I know they try to make the game challenging but my button press should not trigger the CPU's! It's like they know what I'm doing before I do!
I have learned my lesson though thats for sure. I will never buy anymore of these sports games on release day anymore. The fact that its December and the game is still being worked on its laughable. I am aware of the crunched development cycle these guys are under, but spending 65 bucks for a game on release day then waiting 2 months before its patched is crazy.
I get excited for every basketball release ever year, but I now understand why some of the guys on here wait till black Friday to pick up the game.

I *think* this is better than pre-patch, but I still see possessions here and there where the CPU just freezes and then launches one from 3 feet beyond the arc. Given how much the CPU is likely to cheeze me at the end of the game, I tend to take it as a gift.
