i had thought i had read some where that they were going to fix the problem where the draft classes would have all cold zones but i just just tried it and its still the same this is big for me cause i enjoy using custom draft classes.
Yeah, it was in the patch notes that all created players would have appropriate hot zones but it appears that this was not actually fixed. All my CAPs still have all blue zones.
I downloaded the patch and Its okay. I mean i only played two games with the updated patch. It wil take some getting use to but no game is going to be perfect. People complain to much.
I was just wondering who on here is actually really good and who on here is average/poor at playing this game. Some of the complaints can be that your just not really good at the game yet. Maybe you have to use more players manually. I can say i was better at 2k11 cause I played it more. Im a music producer with a lot of projects so I cant play 5 games a day anymore but i need to get better. I can tell yall from what i notice is that you really have to do a lot of manual stuff in this game to win on Superstar and HOF. If your big man help out on defense to far away from the basket then your subject to giving up an offensive rebound. You have to now go back to basket with the big man to box out. That's just one of many things i noticed. Ima try to find time and get better but why complain. Atleast 2K sports aint showing animations/graphics on comercials thats not the same when you actually play the game. EA SPORTS!!!!...lol..If it wasnt for this website and people pointing out the horroble graphics and gameplay in nba elite 11 then EA sports would have released an imcomplete game. What im saying there are more Pros then Cons in NBA 2k12..

I have to say I am a little dissappointed in this patch. After reading the initial PS3 guys come in here and rave I was really excited however after playing last night I do see the improvements in passing. However the cpu spinning layups is still there and the up and unders. The rebounding is out of balance for the CPU and to me it doesn't even matter if the team is a good rebounding team or not. You defend the 3pt shot well and they will get that offensive rebound. I had a game last night against the Knicks I was the clippers. The Knicks were off from three but ended up having 15 offense rebounds just because they were missing so many 3's. They ended up out rebounding me but I still won even though I was out rebounded by 10
Just played the Magic I was the Wizards the blocking is really ridiculous as well Big Baby with 6 blocks mostly on McGee and Nelson had 2 one was on McGee, all I could was shake my head. Big Baby also managed to have 18 rebounds and 9 offensive by himself. I won the game mainly because Dwight was in foul trouble and their 3pt shots cooled down a bit in the second half they were 14/30 for the game. D. Howard played 15 minutes total and had 8 rebounds 3 offensive.
After spending some extensive time with the patch, I honestly cannot believe the placebo affect that was in place on this message board.
Even some of you people who were praising this patch as the second coming are starting to tone down your stances and see this game as still being somewhat flawed. I don't know what it is, but I cannot notice anything different in this patch from the game pre-patch.
You guys got the patch, and wanted it to be so great and make the game a 10/10 that you started seeing things you wanted to see to make it better.
In reality, this game has gone the way of EA Sports Football titles for me, I will no longer be purchasing them. It pains me to say as much, because I absolutely love basketball, and iv'e been a faithful 2K buyer since NBA 2K on the dreamcast.
Enough is enough though. The ridiculous CPU comeback A.I. People saying it was possible to get by defenders with faster players, when in reality, the CPU AI still mirrors your moves step for step. Constantly getting blocked by smaller players inside is still there. Not being able to run fast breaks because no matter who you pass it to the CPU gets a hand on the ball.
The CPU AI constant erratic movement on offense, doing nothing but trying to muscle their way inside the paint, the superhero comeback and contested shots. It's all still there.
Let's not talk about star big men never touching the ball, or when they do get the ball, never using their post moves. Just running around like idiots and passing the ball to some scrub, who WILL light your team up. Do superstars even matter in this game? Or is it back to the days of 2K11 where no matter how old or how much your skills have diminished, if you have a good 3 point shot, you'll score 26 a game and lead your team. Nevermind Dwight Howard for the Magic, you better watch out for Q-Rich, Hedo Turkoglu or some other low rated guy dropping 30 on you while D12 sits back with 8 points and a bunch of rebounds. Pathetic
How anyone could come on here and say those issues have genuinely been fixed is beyond me. Especially when myself and many others have continued to point them out still being there. I'm glad some of the rest of you are finally seeing it too.
This is a good game, and I want it to be great, but there are WAY too many glaring issues that keeps this game from staying in my Xbox for a long period of time.
- Because of the passes, pick and roll is a bit better. That's if the person setting the pick actually rolls.
It's NOT if the person setting the pick actually rolls, it's if you're actually calling the pick & roll or pick & pop. I usually press LB/L1 to call the pick, press LB/L1 again whenever I want roll man to roll. If you press and hold LB/L1 that sets up the pick & pop.
I have no problem setting-up isolation plays with anyone then call pick plays. They're not automatic but if executed right can be very effective for sure.

I have learned my lesson though thats for sure. I will never buy anymore of these sports games on release day anymore. The fact that its December and the game is still being worked on its laughable. I am aware of the crunched development cycle these guys are under, but spending 65 bucks for a game on release day then waiting 2 months before its patched is crazy.
I feel you man. I usually wait until all the smoke clears myself but I ventured out, picked up 2K12 on release day without any lines or hassles. I couldn't believe we stood around this long waiting for a gameplay patch myself and. . . to top it all off, the most important issues 2K claims they took into account from here. . . OS da Spot needed to be addressed were not.
I like the subtle issues that were address but clearly there is a whole lot more to be desired here.

The rosters are Live In rosters and will load-up every time you power-up your game. There should be a new update available already or feel free to check every 24hrs. or follow Ronnie on twitter.
No need to go Gold just to download rosters, hell. . . you can get custom 2kshare rosters for free. Just create an XBox Live account(Silver).

I feel what you are saying but for me this patch has made the game better and thats because im a online player. That is the only reason I have gave props for this patch. I havent even played a game offline against the cpu yet.
There are still problems like the steal spam online but the patch has made online playable. Its not so sluggish anymore. You can play onball d now, you cant hit every three, you can time the release on shots and free throws , etc.
I just dont see some of the problems you see because im not playing against the cpu. Although some of these cheesers can make me just as frustrated.
So what I have given this patch credit for is not a placebo effect. Its just simply im basing my impressions off a different aspect of the game

I wish I knew that beforehand - because the game I played [post patch] Howard lit me up for like 25/15 and had the game winning shot.
It's not placebo. There was a patch [fact] and gameplay has been altered[fact]. Now the changes may not be up to your expectations or wishes - but me personally I think the game has changed for the better. It may not be as much as needed - but it's definitely better.

Noted and well respected point, I should have stated that I was talking about offline only.
Im on ps3 and already downloaded the 1.04 patch but i cant find official rookies, no roster update at all. No Metta World Peace, still Artest and Perkins is still heavy like last season. Do i have to do other things to get roster update? i click reset toster but it still the same. Ni update at all. Do i need to delete my old roster file?

Yeah delete the old roster file and let the system d/l the new one.
There are some things nice about the patch but the two things I wanted addressed seem like the didn't get touched. Fast break an double teams in the post. I did a test game with orl. I posted Howard the whole game, he had 46 out of
50 points. No doubles ever came. This is a big part of the NBA an I can't believe it's not
in the game.

This is more how i feel. The patch did effect some areas and was for the better. The patch definitely missed some important areas as well.

You can cheese as hell with this game offline if you have a decent post player.
