SimBaller: Just to reiterate what Will said above, just because you can post a link saying that Player A signed or Players B and C were traded for each other, that doesn't mean we have league approval (yet) to process the move.

All contracts and trades need to get ratified by the league before the transaction can take place in our game. It's very, very rare that the league intervenes on a signing/trade, but we saw that last week with the CP3 trade. It can happen.

We chose to do frequent small updates to give you the goods as they come in rather than waiting until the season starts. This means another roster update is always right around the corner with the latest transactions.

Everyone calm down, this update is the first of many. 2K already stated this update was released days ago and they were working out the kinks in it. I expect a more accurate update by mid week since they stated they will release multiple updates to keep up with the player movement. You cant expect a signing that occurred after the roster to be included because we just recieved it today. At this point we should always expect the roster to be 2 days behind realitiy at the earliest since that is what we have always gotten.

Thanks Sim but I dont understand why this should affect the rookies. Jimmer Fredette signed Friday. So did Jan Vesely. I know for a fact that Vesely's deal was approved by the league office on Friday and when I spoke to 2k in September, they confirmed that the rookies were already on the disc.

So if most of the rookie deals were done on Friday AND the rookies are already on the disc...why are only 4 in the first update.

It's abundantly clear however, that 2k did not do that, and only began working on this sometime in the past 24-48 hours.
How could they predict where everyone was going? The ability for players to start moving, and the teams to have transactions started on Friday. Sure, there were "word of mouth" arrangements, but they can't put those in. See below. They've had 24-48 hours worth of transactions. Half have made it through the league desk, half haven't. Some are being vetoed by the league office.

The point is, they did not have anything to do during those 2 months. What else do you want them to put in? They have the trades/transactions that are official and cleared. Once rookies contracts go through the league office, stamped/ratified, then they'll be added in subsequent roster updates.

Interesting. I got the update, so I booted up a nonsense My Player just to see if the rookies are in the rookie game and only Jordan Hamilton is in...and not Kyrie Irving.

Interesting.

Interesting.
He's in, he's not a starter. Especially if you are a Point Guard. He will come in in the second quarter. The commentary is fantastic on it by the way. Give back story into Kyrie, Tristan, and Jordan Hamilton

I'm disappointed that for all this Artest/World Peace, the announcers still say Artest at the starting line up screen! I thought the announcers were going to call him by his new name?

It seems the Jan Vesely contract was in-fact not confirmed by the league office before they left on Friday (same with Jimmer and a number of others), per the memorandum we received Friday. These guys now have the green light and will be in the next update (now that we have confirmation).

Jesus Christ, give them time to put it in the game.

I swear some of you think this is the final product that 2k is putting out.

# 133 danyl2002 @ 12/12/11 01:52 PM
and sometimes call him "number 15"

# 134 Riggins @ 12/12/11 01:53 PM
Are we going to get pictures with the rookies? The 4 in the game are just game face.

# 135 sharebear420 @ 12/12/11 01:55 PM
no kemba ahhhhhh! lol what 4 rookies are in the game as of right now? can't wait til 48hrs from now!

# 136 bcruise @ 12/12/11 01:56 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong re: Artest, but wouldn't the announcers saying his new name require Harlan, Kellogg, and Kerr to come back into the 2k studio to record it (or at least Harlan)? That's probably not gonna happen, and I'd imagine the only reason the PA guy can say it is because he's an in-house employee.

This

Gotta disagree with you on this Will. There is no excuse for not having the rookies ready to go. Its safe to assume that 90% of those rookies were going to sign on day 1.

I've been searching high and low for news on that Glen "Big Baby" Davis traded for Brandon Bass...I looked on both teams websites and NO news about either of them...yet 2K has them switching teams...is it official?
