And before you complain about why hasn't X player been added/moved yet:

Quote:
SimBaller: Just to reiterate what Will said above, just because you can post a link saying that Player A signed or Players B and C were traded for each other, that doesn't mean we have league approval (yet) to process the move.

All contracts and trades need to get ratified by the league before the transaction can take place in our game. It's very, very rare that the league intervenes on a signing/trade, but we saw that last week with the CP3 trade. It can happen.

We chose to do frequent small updates to give you the goods as they come in rather than waiting until the season starts. This means another roster update is always right around the corner with the latest transactions.

@jojojr125 no our families and friends won't get to see us much this weekend. This amount of player movement in-season is unprecedented

The 2K Insider is hard at work on including as many rookie signings and capturing as much player movement as possible as we speak

...you can't blame them for expecting more than they received.
Yeah I agree with this. Without the hype, I would've just played my game with current roster minding my own business and waiting for some patch/update. But when you saying phases like "Our families and friends won't get to see us much this weekend" or "This AMOUNT of player movement in-season is unprecedented.", you give us false hope.

Truth be told, if they just release it without telling us beforehand, we might actually be happier knowing that even though they are working on it and it's still work in progress, they are nice enough to push a little bit of it out so please their fans...

Always under-promise and over-deliver, Always!

In 2K's defense, I would guess that the roster minimum/maximum limitations played a factor as well. For example, you have to have at least 12 players on the in-game roster, and you can't have more than 15. That probably prevented them from adding certain players and waiving certain players. The old school Lives had this right where you could have a minimum of 8 players on a roster.

I see 2K's reasoning, though, since they are going by NBA official rules.

He's in China with J.R. Smith, Wilson Chandler and Kenyon Martin. All their cyberfaces are on 2k.

Oh ok, I didn't know he went overseas, too.

That probably is the main issue. Nice catch!

I would disagree about them "going by NBA official rules" though. I just think it's more work than they want to put in right now. It would require at least a small patch for a problem that's only going to last a couple of weeks anyway. It's cheaper to ignore it till rosters fill out and it fixes itself.

I am curious as to why the rookies they added still have the toon face on the player card and not real photo?

# 30 OGKing @ 12/12/11 08:14 AM
Yep. Rosters are automatically put on.

I'm wondering though, some people stated that they got a prompt to ask them to download a 47 mb download, what's that all about?

# 31 STLRams @ 12/12/11 08:23 AM
Did the 2K Insider update any of the players attributes or tendencies, especially the legend ones, since they seem to be so way off since the game first got released.

# 32 CAN_JE @ 12/12/11 08:30 AM
I'm a PC user and I have no any update on roster, why?

What we are seeing in the NBA is unprecedented. I don't think realistically 2K Sports can keep up with all the player movement. I'm not defending them, but we have to be patient. It's actually our lack of patience that caused these guys to release a roster update this early in the first place. I want the new rosters just as bad as anyone. I'm a roster freak. But between now and Christmas NBA rosters are going to change so much that today's roster update won't even matter anyways. And seriously, people are upset that trades weren't reflected in the update? For crying out loud, move Odom yourself lol.

I guess I'm just happy to get any kind of update. The lockout wasn't 2K's fault. I'm trying to be patient because I know if we keep expecting accurate rosters every day we are going to force them to release updates that aren't ready and will probably be glitched or half-done. I'm sure rookies will be added and trades will be reflected in the next few updates. It's going to take a little while.
I wouldn't say that consumer lack of patience is the reason for the roster update. It was a promised feature. Unfortunately for 2K, the lockout prevented them from updating the rosters initially. Now that the lockout is over, they are beginning to deliver on their promise to the consumer. It's Business 101, not consumer impatience.

Why would any of you expect anything different? Seriously ask yourself that. If Bart Simpson pops someone in the face with a slingshot are you really surprised? Know your personnel. 2K is known for sub-par rosters/tendencies. The season doesn't start for another 2 weeks, why complain about the first roster update as if you are going to start your association now when all of the rookies aren't there. Save the tears.

# 35 LebronGarnett12 @ 12/12/11 08:39 AM
there are only rookies in clevaland and denver

# 36 jimmermania @ 12/12/11 08:48 AM
to be honest i wasnt pleased only because im a die heart kings fan and jimmer did sign his contract friday night so he should be in the game its on the website. Kemba walker signed his contract to so 2k did miss some things i dont understand why odom is on lakers still but its alright it is the first update and it has been a crazy time in the NBA remember all you sports fans 2k sports never had to deal with a lockout and updating rosters especially when its all happening so fast in real life so just calm down 2 weeks before the season and things will be finalized by then and plus its still stupid to start a "association" or a "my player" because deals will still get done like cp3 and dwight howard and billups will find a team so minus well just wait till cmas to have complete roster. plus its just a video game jeezez i love nba 2k12 but dam be patient. GO KINGS LETS GET JIMMERING!

# 37 jersez @ 12/12/11 08:54 AM
Okay I can understand why people are mad, people have been wanting to play with the rookies for a while, and 2k did have all weekend to get most of the roster right. Idk whats going on over there. They might finish the rest tonight.

Give 2K a break. This is the first update after the lockout. Obviously, it's not anywhere near complete. Some NBA teams don't even have a full roster, yet. As real life rosters settle in, so will these.

# 40 PrettyT11 @ 12/12/11 09:00 AM
While i agree that 2K should have put more in and that i expected more to be put into this update some of you guys that are in here complaining are just as bad as 2K. If you are going to come in and complain about moves that aren't in the update at least be sure that the move has happened. You make yourself look just as bad if not worse.

For example NO Richard Jefferson was not waived by the Spurs. There was reports that he was going to be but it has not happened. He has been at training camp and is still listed on the Spurs roster. I have seen multiple whine about Jefferson still being on the Spurs. Well guess what he still is on the Spurs. I saw another guy complaining about Rip not being on the Bulls and the move was done before Bibby signed. Again please know what you are typing. Rip has not signed a deal with the Bulls. The word is he will but nothing has been done.

So please people if you are going to call out 2K for something at least be correct in what you are calling them out for.
