Just to reiterate what Will said above, just because you can post a link saying that Player A signed or Players B and C were traded for each other, that doesn't mean we have league approval (yet) to process the move.

All contracts and trades need to get ratified by the league before the transaction can take place in our game. It's very, very rare that the league intervenes on a signing/trade, but we saw that last week with the CP3 trade. It can happen.

We chose to do frequent small updates to give you the goods as they come in rather than waiting until the season starts. This means another roster update is always right around the corner with the latest transactions.

Thanks Sim but I dont understand why this should affect the rookies. Jimmer Fredette signed Friday. So did Jan Vesely. I know for a fact that Vesely's deal was approved by the league office on Friday and when I spoke to 2k in September, they confirmed that the rookies were already on the disc.

So if most of the rookie deals were done on Friday AND the rookies are already on the disc...why are only 4 in the first update.

It's abundantly clear however, that 2k did not do that, and only began working on this sometime in the past 24-48 hours.
How could they predict where everyone was going? The ability for players to start moving, and the teams to have transactions started on Friday. Sure, there were "word of mouth" arrangements, but they can't put those in. See below. They've had 24-48 hours worth of transactions. Half have made it through the league desk, half haven't. Some are being vetoed by the league office.

The point is, they did not have anything to do during those 2 months. What else do you want them to put in? They have the trades/transactions that are official and cleared. Once rookies contracts go through the league office, stamped/ratified, then they'll be added in subsequent roster updates.

Interesting. I got the update, so I booted up a nonsense My Player just to see if the rookies are in the rookie game and only Jordan Hamilton is in...and not Kyrie Irving.

Interesting.
