Got an off the glass oop!

another very nice thing i noticed on defence was the attention to the small details. for example, when you are rudy guarding wade up the top left and haslem is at the top of the key with dirk guarding him, dirk sets his body closer to wade then to the less dangerous man, he is able to get there on the help when wade does his thing and it makes the defence feel amazing to control. this also works with any dangerous players near players who are not a threat. players also defend the passing lanes better, switch at the right times without being sucked in to allow for the cheese drive under the basket while attracting 2 defenders for the easy dunk, etc. much smarter AI on all parts of the field.

Maybe this has been in previous games and I've just never seen it, but I hit a full court shot at the end of the first quarter with Jason Kidd. They did a review and didn't count the shot. It went through about three different replays and showed that the clock was at 0.0 when he released the ball. Pretty cool.

Man, this demo is so smooth. I can already tell I'm gonna have a blast playing with the Bulls. The new post is silky smooth, had a couple a great plays with Dirty Dirk. I got the some of the basic moves down but I'm gonna need to dive into that training camp mode.

The only complaints from me so far is that we still have to 2 weeks to wait

Yet on the other hand, I have 5 feet with Kidd on Chalmers, and Chalmers passes me by for the layup... My biggest pet peeve for years now. I'm not sure what to think of this. I realize Dallas may not be entirely a fastbreak team, if at all, but these instances where a break should ensue, aren't happening Organically or lively. it seems to be very forced I'll get a "fastbreak" layup but there will be 3 other guys there as it happens.. My CPU teammates rarely seem as eager to turbo back on D as the CPU AI does.. It's kind of the same o'l.

Am I missing something?
I know what you mean man, had a fastbreak with Chandler with Chalmers trailing behind by at least a good 2 feet and he wasnt able to catch Chandler?!

Why are the basic movements of basketball feeling so robotic and why is everyone so brainwashed into thinking this OK .
I feel as if i have very little control over this game .
It sounds like you are struggling, just to put it lightly. If the game is so out of control then how come numerous videos show users having complete control of their players? The demo hasnt even been out a day yet.

First thing I noticed while playing this demo is the off ball movement and smooth animations. I still have no idea how to do post moves yet but I love the backdowns in the game now. I tried abusing Bosh in the post with Dirk and he's about automatic with his fadeaways, as he should be. I can't wait to figure out all the controls to the other post moves. Also Dwyane Wade had a pretty cool "Euro step" drive on me. It wasn't on a fastbreak either, he ISO'd me up and drove to the hoop and did his signature baby rock move that ended with a very realistic looking floater.

i only hear this when its negative, if its something i like about the game i never hear "its an early build". do you have a reasonable anwser for me?
Cynical if your really looking for an answer. I can't tell if your just being cynical. In order to prep the demo and remove features and menu's and all of that and test to make sure it won't crash. The demo version is split out ( on the games I know about) kinda of early. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this wasn't the same build they had a gamescon.

Not that you playing the final version will impress you more than you are currently however a lot can change from one build to another. I know this because I have played several builds of 2k11 and 2k12. Some things can be turned off completely in one build and turned on in another.

So the answer is a lot can change or a little can change it all depends on the builds. I played the final last week and to me it was much better than the demo. I only played the demo twice so far.

So not as an excuse for the issues you seem to have with the game but a lot can change from one build to another. Not saying it will make YOU love it any more or less.

Check out everyones signature gathers. Most of them are the same but look at Dirk! Perfect! 2k really did it. I cant stop playing a 4 minute demo. This is insane.

When Joel Anthony has the ball...Joel Anthony does NOT have the ball! That orange is up for grabs.

He ripped down an offensive rebound in traffic, I quickly poked it loose with Chandler, Dirk made a through the legs save on the baseline (out of bounds saves are MUCH improved) to start a fast break that finished in a Fernandez oop (which was finally a new alley oop animation). Amazing sequence.

I wish there were more new dunk and alley animations, considering how often you see these it's one area that's important to keep fresh.

I've seen some new reverse layups that were pretty incredible. Rudy and Caron make a solid two way wing duo.

I'm lovin' it.

I must say I'm impressed. I subbed Jason Terry into the game and I drooled as DWade wasted NO TIME putting him in the post. Terry's dribble set is pretty good. But I like that Wade knew he had a mismatch in the post instead of trying to beat him off the dribble.

Basic Basketball...you have a mismatch...USE IT. I love that the CPU recognizes this.

Man u ain't neva lied.

I was sooo disappointed last year and I did not expect them to improve the graphics for PS3 this much.

I mean, that 3-demensional feel the 360 version has had for years is now on the PS3. Don't know what the 360 looks like this yeat but I'm sure it must be amazing.

If the NBA LOCKOUT continues, are you still gonna buy this game?

# 716 inkcil @ 09/21/11 12:33 AM
Man, the soundtrack is tiiight. I wonder if they sacrified some of the in-game features to make room for soundtrack sounds on the demo. Just let the title screen "ride" on your system for a while.

# 717 guesswhozbak17 @ 09/21/11 12:34 AM
Saw a nice animation. Bosh grabbed a defensive rebound...Chalmers ran to him with his hands ready for the outlet pass...Bosh took a dribble up the court...Chalmers put his both hands up in a *What are YOU doing* motion...Bosh passes him the ball. I like.

Thanks man. its not as if i didnt enjoy the demo, its just that guys acting like its a crime to say, i would like to see this or that improved rather than just praisng an early build which you say plays different than the final. i was just calling them out , almost out of spite. smh at me. im not negative, but any1 being critical of the demo is wrong cuz 2k is great.

i figure its stuff in the demo you didnt like thats not in the final, but for someone other than the people who have played an early build to comment on its flaws blasphamy. i hope everything is corrected, my fingers are crossed.

Haha just saw Rudy Fernandez save a ball from going out of bounds by flicking it between his legs in the air. Awesome.
