1. Wet our appetites
People are saying if this is an old build, just imagine what 2K12 would look like. Not person--PEOPLE. This is making people want more. If you read the threads, people are playing this demo continuously. Mission accomplished.

2. All these people to download it.
Shouldn't have to explain. I don't care if people didn't like it--they downloaded it. And I don't care how many 360 people say it isn't good--PS3 users will download it when available. Mission accomplished.

3. Want the retail version even more.
You don't want to play limited periods? You want to run plays? You want the retail version...but now you want it EVEN MORE. Mission accomplished.

Again, just because you aren't down with it doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.
Look what you're talking about here..

"Read the threads"..

You're on a 2k Forum dude.. what do you think is going to happen? Of course the people here will play this game continuously..

To me, it doesn't make sense as a marketing tactic for a company to use this ploy, because if you have a better game - the fanbase who plays it and tries the demo will know it's superior to the last version (hence, these forums)..people HERE will play this game regardless if it's stripped down or if it has all the features - so what you're saying is that they will purchase it because they are being 'teased' by not having the entire thing and I think in this case considering everyone here is already a hardcore fan and just want to get their hands on the game already.. difference of opinions

I didn't mean to state your post didn't make sense, I mean what the company is doing to me doesn't make sense..

what I'm talking about here is guys who pick up the demo and don't play 2k regularly (there are still many of those) and will think that this is how the actual game is.. and choose to forgo buying it.

Nice touch on the TNT-esque mini-ad on the bottom left.

Smh. I agree. Ppl want to call everything cheese. So being able to look up the court like players do in real like is cheese. Broadcast is more of a cheese bc no player on the court can see the entire court at all times.

It's amazing - when I was younger, I was ok with just running around and working the ball around. Ever since Inside Drive I don't think I've gone back.

I know I'm not alone - I feel like I can't really control what is going on if the inner coach inside of me can't be used in a game. It's nice taking Dirk or whomever and learning the controls... but it feels so shallow, even for just a few minutes.
AMEN i am a terroble freelance ballplayer.

Game just isn't as fun or as deep without plays. I hate not being in control of my attack.

I mix in freestyle of course but to have to do it every time down is ruff for me. LOL

Second time was when they threw Bosh an outlet pass. Caught up with Dirk and I forgot the rules of basketball like an idiot. Grabbed Bosh and got a clear path foul. lol
Well wrap around fouls were in 2K11...I even think you used the same button combo as you use for 2K12.

Same here...don't understand why 2k doesn't even have quick plays so that we can do something like tell our guys to post up in the demo. Not having quick screens sucks as well. Not a biggie...I'm at the point where I can wait 2 weeks to get the whole enchilada.

Let's be real here...few people will be brand new to this game because of the fact that 2K11 sold so well. So.....

.....if guys think the retail version will have one, four minute quarter, no commentary, and no plays--AFTER MORE THAN LIKELY PLAYING 2K11 AND KNOWING IT'S A DEMO--then they are among the dumbest people on the face of the earth and should have their bodies donated to science--while still alive.

I'm not saying this was a great marketing ploy...I'm just saying what I've typed. Other than that, I'd rather not argue because I want to keep this to an impression thread.

Am I impressed? Very.

I ran across a glitch but I'm not sure if it happens all the time and I know it'll be fixed in the full game if it does happen all the time in the demo. The Heat got called for a three seconds in the key violation. Dirk went to the free throw line to shoot the technical and he just stood there with the ball in his hand, the free throw shot clock was stuck, and I couldn't shoot. I had to restart the game. Again, I don't know if this happens all the time or if it's just some of the time.

It was to clumsy last year.

Post cheese doesn't seem to work very well, I went like, 1/6 when I tried to do it. I'm really enjoying the contact down low.

Guys, didnt they do this last year with the demo(watered down, no subs, commentary ect.) and went on to sell millions? They know what they're doing year in and year out with everything. They think things out to a point where they hardly make mistakes. I dont know why some OS'ers want the demo to be a full game. 2k knows how to give you that wow factor when you put the game in..

I remember last year people were saying that Jordan wasnt a big deal and 2k ran out of ideas only to put their game in and intro into a jordan challenge only to come back and freak out on OS.

Chill guys 2k got this, and will collect that 60 that their owed on the 4th

Not for me, I could pretty much use it on cue. But I guess it's good that they made it more accessible for others. Just shouldn't be touted as 'new' since like I said, it was there last year, just maybe a bit harder to use.

I think its obsurd to say either is cheese, each has its advantages and disadvantages.

Saw a couple of new dunks during my last game. One was a two handed power dunk with a little hang from Tyson Chandler. After releasing from the rim, one of his arms thrust wildly in the air, like young Kenyon Martin used to do after he dunked. And to be honest, it looked pretty Chandler-like. I'd doubt he'd have signature dunks, but it coincidentally looked very close to reality.

Also, I saw a new LeBron James dunk (or new to me) where he double pumped it with two hands, taking the ball down near his waist. I saw one like this one in 2K11, but not quite the same.

I didn't realize you could run the baseline in this game until you mentioned that. So thanks for the tip.

I like the upgrades to Butler and Bosh. they finally look like they should.

I'm also loving the modified shots that even the CPU will use. Wade went for a spin layup, couldn't finish it because of the contact, and changed the shot into some weird one-handed slop that somehow went in.

cause everyone discovers basketball and basketball games at the same time as everyone else does......................

lol at people thinking all the people who play the 2k12 demo played 2k11 and should know what to expect.

zzzzzzzzzzz

Michael Jordan was in the game for the first time, Mike Wang was back, Da Czar was involved, etc etc...

That had nothing to do with such a terrible demo

People are playing because they like the work of the devs, not because they're being starved... thats the silliest thing I've ever heard in my life

That said, Im glad I can slow things down when I want to and walk the ball up the court now

I like the fact that Lebron was pulling off dribble moves to get open on me, but in 3 games nobody went bananas on me

One play I left Chalmers open and everyone else was covered and after he scoped the floor he took the open 3..not just blindly chucking it up but after he saw other options not there
