You're right, i was kidding. EA Canada seems to make much better overall games, and at this point i'm pretty much just waiting for FIFA because i'll play that until The Show comes out.

It's the same thing with NCAA Football. Why does the fact that EA is now able to patch and tune the game after release apparently require us to play an unfinished, bug-ridden game for several months every year waiting for those patches (which often create their own new problems)?[/QUOTE

several months? come on dude. a little much dont you think?

He may not be that far off. My memory is a little shaky, but the infamous "pump-fake" glitch of last year took 'till sometime in the fall to fix, didn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong...

It may be possible that EA switching developer leadership and head of staff members in mid-development might be the reason why this game has the few bugs it has. As far as all that woman-like over exaggerating, saying that this game is completely broken;

My definition of few bugs differs from yours. I agree its not completely broken however for people who love online dynasties in my opinion its just short of being completely broken when it comes to OD's. Just my .02.

So the patch was submitted to Microsoft and Sony on the 29th (or that's when the announcement came out, anyhow) and the average time to approve a patch and release it is two weeks. So the quickest we should expect a patch will be on/around the 12th... exactly two months after the game was initially released. Two months to fix glaring issues in a title that should never have made it in in the first place.

Ya see, this is why we need PC ports for NCAA and Madden. Not only could we have patches a lot quicker, but we could have mods and user made fixes... which is exactly why they won't do it because EA doesn't want to lose money, even though its proven that good mod communities keep games alive, not kill them.

So, from what I gather by reading this thread is that the majority of the bugs that need fixing are with the online dynasties? Is there anything with gameplay that is killing this game that needs patching?

Not to mention they dont wait and try to lump a ton of stuff in to one patch because of the way MS and Sony do patching. They would have a lot of incremental patches that would fix things along the way so where as we might have gotten all these patches in 2 months on a PC they would have come out in smaller patches along the way so it would not be as annoying.

Something like that roster bug they probably would have fixed within 2 days after being identified.

Well, they keep last years game or the one before it VIABLE as an option to the newest release...which is why they don't want it. AND that is also why they won't fix ALL the bugs from one year to the next. If they made even a NEAR perfect game they wouldn't sell as many copies the next year cause there would be hold overs from the previous year.

I say that like its fact...I should add, its just my opinion(and sad that I had to add that, sheesh).

Last year's model??? LOL I know die-hard Ghost Recon fans who are still playing the original GR on their computer... they've added about 5000 consumer-made maps since the game came out in... oh, I don't know... the late 90's/early '00's.

I can see a company's point of view in that regard... a war game... but a football game that has massive change every year w/ rosters, uniforms, stadiums {either new like Akron this year, actually last year, but you get my point, and hopefully next year's game w/ FAU and North Texas} equipment and so on... {colored gloves anyone?}

My only fear of EA having access to my computer is their desire to snoop around unwarranted... which they've already done/expressed a desire to do.

Is it true that it takes about two weeks for a patch to get processed?

I'm playing Tiger Woods 2010 right now in place of Madden and NCAA, that's what EA has done to me.

I just want to say my quick bit and they'll I'll be out. I haven't played the game in a long time. The game has its flaws and glitches, but these things are able to be fixed. The tendencies will be fixed, which will help gameplay dramatically. The freezes will be fixed, reason for the stabilization issues they said they had to address. The linebackers will be fixed, however this has more to do with the trajectory of the ball rather than the linebackers. Overall, the game is playable, but it will be so good once the patch hits, if EA did take their time and do it right. I would rather have EA take their time, get everything right, make sure it's fixed and release rather than rush it and then imagine what people on here would be doing. I can handle waiting a little bit because Madden is very good to me. I do want to get into both series here shortly though and I'm sure it's a matter of time before the patch hits. If the patch works, people will be all for EA, if it fails, they'll want them to burn. I personally, don't care, because if the patch fails, I trade it in for 25$ and it gives me more power to put more money on my Battlefield 3 order that I've been thinking about canceling. Think of it this way, if it fails, you only wasted 35$, which isn't that bad, because I did have my moments with this game. However, I think EA will clutch up, unless they saw this and want my Battlefield money instead.
