No. Two teams cost twice the money. Do you really think they would have that much more profit that way to justify that cost?

Same argument for the two-year development cycle. They'd have to pay the developers all year long anyway, so way would they release just an update for 20 bucks when they can charge more than double that for a new game anyway? It just doesn't make sense economically.

Because what many people don't think about, as much as we all love to complain about their games... in the end we all still buy them, year after year. And you can be sure that most of those who now proclaim to never buy an EA Sports game again will have forgotten about that vow when NCAA/Madden 13 come around next year. As long as they offer the only football game on the market, people will buy it, because it's football, simple as that. Only if they faced competition or saw a drastic decrease in sales would they be forced to rethink their approach, and I don't think that's about to happen.

Can somebody tell me what the named roster issue is with dynasty? Why would people's work be wasted?

What are the tendencies issues doing to gameplay?

Sorry...I'm late to the party this year...

im just wondering if going forward EA will quit releasing the game on disc.

what's really left to add?

custom schedules, check
custom conferences, check
custom sounds, check
custom playbooks, check
great online connectivity, check

basically everything you can possibly ask for is already implemented in the game.

the patch is going to address some major issues, and then probably a bunch of garbage stuff people like to get bent out of shape about.

what's to say they can't update the game game year in and year out via a patch?

i'd think this day and age the time will come.

I want to start my dynasty, but don't want to be in it when the patch is out. EA has taken a long time and hopefully they can learn from this. I do think it is time for them to get rid of the current NCAA engine and develop a newer, more polished engine. I didn't say it wasn't EA's fault, I'm just sick of hearing how it's EA's fault.
authentic's philosophy:

1) Lower your expectations, accept mediocrity, and don't complain when the inevitable happens (e.g. mediocrity becomes manifest in a product that was advertised as superb and complete).

2) Just eat the **** that people serve you or don't eat at all.

This sound about right?

Is Sony and Microsoft going to release the patch tomorrow because they see this group of people is upset over how long it's taking? Absolutely not, if you have a problem with EA, contact them directly, I don't think this is the place.
Right, but its fine for you to keep cluttering the threads complaining about everyone complaining?

Instead of asking everyone to stop talking about it, wouldnt it be simpler for you to just stop reading the thread? Since it makes you so upset, take a break, there are plenty of other threads to read.

Ding ding ding. Purchased '12 and was this close to selling it. It has some serious issues, the biggest one for me is the freezing. (Which I have not experienced in 2 weeks). I kept it since I've been able to make it competitive with tweak some sliders. Online dynasty apparently does not work for some, the kicking bug where the CPU always kicks off is stupid, plus others.

But you hit the nail on the head. There is no other competition for this market. People would hit it off if EA didn't have a license. This is first title I've purchased new ('10 & '09 were used so significant price difference) ... and would have likely sold it if it was the full $60.

There are no other games that I own that get as much re-playability than sports titles. However, NBA2k11 & 2k10 didn't have as many blatant bugs as this title seems to have currently. Here's to hoping that the patch fixes the freezing and other issues have, because the graphics and running game is SO much better in this title than 2010.

I believe Microsoft has limits on how big a patch can be(and how many "free" ones are available to the developers), so seeing updates like that via a patch wont happen. DLC would be an option, but I doubt the contract between NCAA and EA will allow anything other than a new retail disc game every year like it has been.

Pretty sure I have seen that in a semi-official capacity posted somewhere, deal calls for a new disk release every year...it came up in a topic about them taking a year off and it just isn't possible for any reason or they loose the license deal.

Shouldn't this be "Locked" by now since no amount of continued discussion will change the release date?

Why wasn't it locked after the first post them? Comeon...at least people can vent in a closed thread and not have people bitching about them posting new threads over and over...but wait...

People complain about the complainers because it is literally clogging up the forums as if it's going to make a huge difference. There's a bug list, EA has customer service and several ways to contact them but you opt to go through a third party in hopes of fixing something? If your meal was undercooked would you goto the friend of a friend or would you go straight to an employee to have it completed properly?

We know theres issues, but rehashing the same issues to people with no connection to EA is getting really old, especially when it's the same thing over and over. If your product isn't to your satisfaction there are three options 1) Complain here, 2) Complain to the source (EA) or 3) Sell it. Sadly too many people opt for 1 and 3. Yes EA dev's do come here every once and a while, but not enough that clogging every thread with the same complaints repeatedly is going to make a difference. If your going to complain goto the source.

Until we go to the next, next-gen systems and they strip out 80% of the game so they can add it back as "new features"

FCS Teams.
Overhaul of Dynasty
Overhaul of Presentation
Switch from MoCap to Physics based
Overhaul of Presentation

If they do those, I'd have no problem with buying the game and having minimal complaints.

Opening Saturday is almost here and this game is still not patched which means it is still unplayable. Way to go EA. Really tremendous work, as always.

i realize it wasn't last night, but ea also tweeted that the xbox 360 servers were having issues.

see thread:

word today is, game is up and running fine.

play away, and enjoy!

Can't believe it's taken this friggin' long for the patch. I occassionally put the game disc in hoping that a message for a software update will magically appear. Stupid me...

Just had the "online dynasty gives you a loss in a game you played and won" bug. Too bad. I really liked it, but this sucks.

The tendancys being screwed up cause poor play. Ex. Denard Robinson becomes a pocket passer and never scrambles, while a slow pocket passser constantly tries running downfield.
