NCAA Football 12 News Post

It should come as no surprise that the community has found some issues with the game -- I really do feel like the folks here really are the best testers money can buy, even if that is not really what they set out to do -- and it has begun to split the community a bit.

That being said, I wanted to ask some of our writers how they were feeling about NCAA Football 12 at this point. Even knowing about some of the bugs and issues we know about now, how are they liking the game and the experience it is bringing to the table.

A beta wouldn't work. A one year release cycle wouldn't allow for enough time.

I think it's your general overall tone that's not helpful, you've been squirting diarrhea on this thread for a few pages, and your monday morning quarterbacking is almost as offputting as your need to lash out when people disagree with it.

Look, I apoligize to everybody in this thread that was offended by my comment's, and hopefully we can continue to keep working in a productive direction to get the problem's solved.

Pretty sure I have more experience than you in software development.

But that's neither here nor there as you completely missed the point.

Hopefully school starts up soon and we get less of his kinds of posts. They don't help.

I call it accurate, I know what Im talking about.

How long did it take this community to find glitches or bugs? We found these 'gamekillers' in a matter of a week or 2. So if they would've put out a BETA for lets say just a measly week they could've either A) Fixed it before the release OR B) Get a heads up on a patch to have ready as close to release as possible. IM TELLING YOU lol a BETA would have made this game ALOT better. Why is that so hard to accept? Cause its a random person telling you this? Cmon now be smart
I'm not sure after reading this, what do you think would have made this game "alot" better? I'm just curious.

Please by all means do tell me exactly in detail why a BETA wouldn't help at all. I thought that was the sole purpose of a BETA? Id love to hear what you have to say about it. Honestly
Do you think we have connections at EA or do you just really need somebody to validate your opinion? What good is convincing us? Focus your energy on emailing EA your ideas if you feel so strongly, i'm sure it won't be long before everybody will see the light and sing your praises.

Do you really have any understanding of the test cycle? Do you really know what a beta test is? They had a beta, it just was not public it was done internally. Now whether that is the best route is another debate.

Too many people tossing terms around that they don't really understand.

Everyone is an expert. If you disagree with their opinion you are wrong.

I don't even disagree with him, tbh i don't even know what his stance is other than "beta beta beta beta beta horrible game beta beta"

I don't either. But his tone is not helpful.

If thats NOT the case im fine with that, but I know enough about CPU's and video games to the point I want a detailed response of 'Why not' . Dont just say 'because' or 'No, that wont work'.

Why would I do that when theres over 100's of pages right here. Both good and bad. If they was going to do something they would have done something.

in short ... competition. You think they care what anyone thinks at this point about there product? No one else makes football games. That is a fact and the one thing EVERYONE should be able to agree on. If you play football you buy from EA. There an Monopoly man, a Empire! lol I get/have had the feeling that they honestly dont care NEARLY as much as people think. I thought I was pointin out the obvious, but some people seem oblivious to it. Thats why I say and have said this game has outstanding potential, but its like they dont care enough about there own product to tie the loose ends and let it reach its potential. If they had competition or fear of losing revenue, I bet they would pay a little more attention to whats going on :/
Yeah because EAs football games were so much different when they had competition..... I agree we need more companies doing football games but EA isn't going to suddenly make there games radically different if there is.

Right on, i hear ya. I don't know if people are oblivious so much as they are just worn down from hearing hundreds of people say what you're saying year after year for around 10 years. We get it. Not everybody has identical opinions, but your opinion isn't a new one. Anybody who has played NCAA and visited a forum has been bombarded every year with extremists from both sides and people repeating arguments like they're brand new. I think it was said best when you were told "this isn't helpful".

I think that NHL 2k games made EA make better NHL games for sure. They were starting to be really stale and old when the first couple years of 2K came out and put a dent in their market they actually stepped it up a ton and in my opinion blew 2K out of the water. Now they are not even going to release another NHL 2K game until who knows when. Which I think will start to make the EA NHL team lazy after a couple years of them being gone.

Still the NHL doesn't have an exclusive license and still EA has been making the best game so who is the say that wouldn't be the same for NCAA or NFL. Either way it would be nice to have options. I bought like 2 NHL 2K game over the years but I always read reviews and so on when they both came out to compair which I would buy. Both times I bought NHL 2K games I bought the EA NHL game too so :P ...

Long post short, a competing company would be nice but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Not to mention didn't Madden just renew its NFL exclusive lisense?

Not sure, I was able to get Michigan to 6 stars again but I won the National Championship so :P >>> Not sure if I would have gone up if I had just won a bowl game. Ohio St actually went down a Star too because they lost their bowl didn't have a great season without Pryor.

You're right, but look at the NHL game from EA now? Going back to what it was few years ago now that they don't have competition.

No testing of the game, poor AI making the game unplayable when lock, tons of glitch, cheats and goodies that makes the game worse, and on top of that, new modes that suppose to be a revolution that people don't play since it's full of cheaters.

NHL made a huge stride in 09, but like always with EA, once they make improvements, the years after, they sit on their hands.

Problem with EA isn't that their games aren't good, it's the fact that they are like a young guy who is happy with a 70% as a grade in some classes, but with some kind of effort, would be able to get a 95%.
